So -14 has definitely made the cut and I’ve played my weekend rounds.
3rd round was by far the easiest setup of the tournament. Felt like -9 wasn’t a great score with 163 greens and medium wind.
4th round I was on fire, course was difficult, wind was up and I was -8 through 9 with an eagle at the turn. Could only manage a further -3 and felt the back nine played much harder, whereas it was the scoring 9 most of the tournament for me. Only 1 shot behind on the PS4 on the last hole but it was playing very tough. Into the teeth, Dr, 2W, GW and landed on the edge of the shelf near the pin before it rolled 60ft away. Miracle putt was not to be.
-34 total and hopeful of a green marker at the end of the week. Very happy to have caught up to the leader after being 8 behind after 2 rounds but definitely felt it could’ve been a different story.

Got off to a fast start in round 3 with 6 straight birdies, including a chip-in and one really long putt. Then I left the pitch short on 7 and parred from 2 feet after my chip. On 8 I sliced it a little and left it on top of the hill and 3-putted for bogey. Missed a 10 foot birdie putt high on 9. Followed that by missing an 18 footer 10 inches low on 10. Left my approach short on 11 and missed another 11 footer by inches. Suddenly got my putter working again and birdied 3 straight before barely missing a 15 footer on 15. Bad approaches on 16 and 17 left me with 40 and 30 foot putts which I left for tap-in pars. Pitch on 18 went long somehow and I parred again to finish at -8, -21 through 3.
Started the 4th round the same way as the third with a 2-foot birdie on 1. Birdied 2 again but went in the bunker off the tee on 3 and had to tap in for par. 4th hole I barely made it to the green with driver-3 wood and had a completely unmakeable putt, and ended up 3-putting for bogey. Drove through the fairway on 5 and just missed a 16 foot birdie. Birdied 7 and 9, but hooked my tee shot on 11 into the heavy rough, then hooked my second shot into the bunker, then lipped out a 12 foot par. Parred 12 and 13, then my 5-yard chip rolled out 30 yards all the way off the green on 14 and I bogeyed. Parred the last 4 holes to finish with an awful -1.

Spent some time with the swing coach between rounds 2 and 3 and it paid off. -10 3rd round had me feeling good and confident going into round 4.
Bogey on 1 brought me back down to earth. Followed by two birdies and then another bogey. Played mistake free from that point on and made the turn at -4 after a chip in eagle on the ninth. Agreed with xvshitanvx that the back played much harder than previous rounds and could only come up with 2 more birdies to finish at -6.
-27 for the tournament, but I’ll take it after barely making the cut.

Disaster for me: -1 & -4 for -5 and missed cut and bunch of red thingies... Third week here and after a good start I am finding it increasingly difficult to deal with the greens. Good luck all, Frans No red thingies yet buddy, I'm pretty happy myself sitting at -6 with no demotion marks as of now.

I put together a -9 for the third round and a -6 fourth round. Overall a -27. Figured that would have me sitting somewhere around top 25, but now I’m seeing it was a lot closer to top 10 than I figured, looks like a lot of people struggled in round 4. Has me re-thinking every mistake and what I could have done different to get that last stroke or two shaved off and into the top ten, oh well. The -3 first round cost me.
Overall I really enjoyed this course and I liked reading about all of our collective struggles.
