Welcome to Clear Lake Golf Course
Located in Riding Mountain National Park at the east end of Clear Lake, the Clear Lake Golf Course is one of the most unique, picturesque and environmentally friendly golf courses in Manitoba, Canada. The Clear Lake Golf Course was built in two stages commencing in 1928. Renowned architect Stanley Thompson designed the front nine while the back nine was designed and built by Vic Creed with supervision from Park Superintendent Jim Smart. The complete course was open for play in the spring of 1934. Stretching to 6,309 yards, the Clear Lake Golf Course provides a unique experience for golfers of all skill levels. The undulating landscape and picturesque views will make you feel like you are not in Manitoba; it's an experience unlike any other! Designer's Comments
My second course and a true pleasure to build, Clear Lake provides a fun challenge with huge elevation changes and fast, hard-to-read greens. While not a long course by any measure, the true test for the average golfer will come from the heavily sloped fairways and highly undulating greens. The par threes provide a particular challenge as many feature large drops in elevation with well guarded greens. Your tee time is set as dawn breaks, with the low lying sun casting long flowing shadows through the haze of the morning mist. If you're unsure as to which way the ball will break, you can almost always count on it running toward the lake. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the course! imgur.com/a/Hwr2meSwww.clearlakegolfcourse.com/

Wow, definitely going to give this a try. As a kid, my family would camp at Clear Lake and I remember waking up at 5 am to go golfing here with my Dad. It's been 20+ years since I played the course but seeing the pic of the downhill par 3 brings back memories of it being one of my favorite holes. If I remember correctly, there was a hole that played over a public road too.

Thanks for the kind words guys... it was fun to build and it's a fun course to play in real life. I attend an annual guys golf wknd there every September and it's always a great way to cap off the golf season here in Manitoba. Thinking of tackling Quarry Oaks next but that may have to wait til next off-season. Thanks again!

Just saw the post now and will definitely check it out. Former Winnipegger here now living in Saskatoon and I have your Pine Ridge saved as a favorite already. (Have only played the course once in real life)
I've actually never played Clear Lake before but am planning on bachelor party weekend there soon.
Now for shameless plug but I used to play at CFB Winnipeg GC a lot as a son of a CFB pilot. It's not a great course but I still went and made it in the game.
I'm currently also working on a re-imagined Tuxedo. I'm allowing for more interesting fairway shapes and terrain change than in real life.

Well played it and loved it. One of my lowest scores ever at -13. I can tell if I played it in real life that I'm leaving the driver in my bag at most holes. 17 is the signature hole there?
Also made the mistake of trying to drive the green on 9 and careened off a tree into the clubhouse parking lot. Somehow still made bogey. Is it possible in real life to cut over those trees?

Yeah 17 is their signature hole... just a 56 or 60 degree off the tee but the first you time you play it you have no clue what club to hit. It's a fun hole.
And you're right, it's a pretty short course so driver not necessary on a lot of holes. I've never actually tried to hit driver over the trees on 9 as I am no where long enough, but I think it MIGHT be possible. I'm supposed to play there in April and was going to do another recon mission but that might be cancelled on account of the COVID.
You'll love it for the bachelor party... course is a blast, the "Wigwam" is a fun local watering hole and if the toothless girls don't get you on the way back to your cabin the bears will. Have fun!

Yeah some holes looked tight and I'm pretty wild with my driver haha. It looked great though and the elevation changes were very cool. (I've only ever looked at it on Google maps so never knew it was like that) You have any experience with lodging options in the area or have you just driven out there for the round only?

I've stayed in many different places there as I joined a group that goes there every Sept for a guys golf wknd. Depending on your #s these are the two options I'd recommend, though there's also a lot of private cabins available for rent. www.staylakehouse.ca/www.mooswa.com/Elkhorn Resort is also nice but you'll get noise complaints there. Mooswa is prob best as you can have your own cabin and be as loud as you want.

Hustler from 1290 was talking about your course! That is awesome. Anyone know the guy who just posted Elmhurst? I haven't seen in it in the forum but saw it on the TGC course list.

Hi all. I created Elmhurst. Jay and I play together in real and xbox often. I managed to get Lidar files from the Manitoba Govt; so it plays quite true to life.
Give it a play!

Darin Hey Darin, I've never played Wlmhurst before but liked your work a lot and have saved it on my favorites. So even though you play on xbox you can use lidar for course creation??

This a really great recreation folks. Beautifully done! AND!! TSN 1290 radio is raving about it as well as Pine Ridge. The other 2 local courses, Elmhurst and Breezy Bend is getting lots of love from Hustler as well as from the Winnipeg Jets broadcast team!! Well done!! Jay, you may want to contact Hustler. He would interview you on his show. No joke
