Welcome to Overbrook Valley, my entry into the World Cup of Design contest in Group F. This course features tight, intertwining routing that includes split fairways, split greens and plenty of weaving waste area. I wanted to challenge myself to create a unique look in the harvest theme so I went with a softer, more dormant fall look. Inspiration for the course came from Pine Valley in New Jersey and Old Tobacco Road in North Carolina, so it is definitely meant to feel like an exclusive east coast club. In addition to a first class practice facility the members also added a Himalayas style putting course that sits behind the 18th green, meant as a separate 9-hole challenge itself or can even be used in a putting playoff to settle a match. Conditions are meant to be default as Firm, Firm and 179 green speeds. However there is the Harvest bug that causes the auto- normal display on the load up screen for fairways, so consider that when setting conditions. Excited to see how I fair in my first WCoD, this has been a fun way to push myself with the pressure of a contest. Here are some peaks at the course before your round: Oh by the way, there is only one bridge… sorry to disappoint.

Yeah, absolutely killed this one! Planting meshes with the course seamlessly, routing is pure fun. Fav touch is the split greens making holes play differently with each pin set, just adding to the already high replay ability.
Looking forward to playing this again, and good luck in the contest!!!

Nice swingset in the yard off of #3 tee.
Holes play really good despite my tempo consistently leaving me off of the fairway, really good sightlines, and you definitely planted your ass off on this one. Waste areas were excellently done.
Loved the look off the tee on #7 and #8, and the halfway house on #10. And I'm absolutely stealing the red trellis object as a deck/retaining wall at some point in the future.

Loved this, buddy - great work from the get go and I think that first hole is right up there with my favourites in this contest. Huge fan of the split greens, the texture choices, that feeling of winding your way through the trees, the way you used extras to enhance the course rather than be the course, the options, the greens - all of it. I did spot a few willows on the way round, but I guess I'll let you off. Particular highlights were 1, 2, 4, 7, 10, 16 and 18. The par threes were class but loved the whole round. Also, four greens inside 150 yards? You cheeky devil, you. Oh, and because you still haven't got a PC (sort it out), I thought I'd chuck you a couple of other pictures. Mostly because I know we're both routing geeks but just kinda went wandering from there.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for playing it already and for all the posts. After months on one course you can feel like it is a grind, so I am happy to be done with this huge project and have some time for CC-a rounds, playthroughs and matches again. Ben those photos are just great. Something I can't capture on xbox so cleanly or at that height, definitely looking forward to what karma4u comes up with for the tgctours page. Here is hole 8 at Pine Valley, one of their two holes with split greens. I wanted mine to be different sizes and distances from each other more than twins like these though. Here is the halfway house I was taking for inspiration at Pine Valley as well. And here is a little behind the scenes look on how I came up with the silly name. Real ground breaking stuff here...

(No there is not a brook on the course) A shame you didn't go with Overbrook Splash Park Got a round in this morning. Excellent job. My favorite holes (playing in a sleep- and caffeine-deprived state, mind you) were 2 and 10. Look forward to giving it another spin. May the best course win
