Howdy,
Does anyone know how the handicap system works in this game? ...like, how is it calculated...for how many rounds?
I'm confused as to how my handicap is always jumping so much when I'm a fairly consistent golfer.
Thanks in advance!

It is broken because they use all the tee boxes together to calculate it. It should be separated by Tees. The only courses that have a somewhat accurate HC is the courses with one tee box.
The only thing I use it for is when I am playing I look to see what the toughest holes are. For instance if I see I am on the number 1 HC hole I usually will play it conservative so I can avoid a big number. A par on the top 5 toughest hole is a good score.
But if you ever wondered what slope and course ratings mean there you go.
Slope rating (a term trademarked by the United States Golf Association) is a measurement of the difficulty of a golf course for bogey golfers relative to the course rating. Course rating tells scratch golfers how difficult the course will be; slope rating tells bogey golfers how difficult it will be.Feb 27, 2019

Handicap is based on your performance in your best 10 of your 20 most recent rounds (on handicap-rated courses). So, if you have a bad round, it will not be counted, and it will bump your 21st most recent round from your record.
Your handicap will go up only if one of your 10 best rounds gets bumped out of consideration because it was your 21st most recent round.
Unfortunately, the in-game course and slope ratings are completely out of whack, so it's impossible to get an accurate handicap index for any player.

Yeah, when I said for how many rounds I meant like....is it handicapped for 2 rounds...4 rounds? It can't be for 1. I definitely see the wonkiness of it=p

Maybe off topic but this is a really good explanation of slope and rating in real golf. Plus it’s no longer only best 10 out of 20. It starts after 5 rounds now www.leaderboard.com/abcs.htm
