Greetings to all. Head ranger boffo dropping in yet again to see if anyone wants to join the moderately exciting ranks of the rangers. For those unfamiliar with the rangers we basically playtest the courses being proposed for the various Tours looking for anything that might need to be changed to ensure the course plays as fairly as possible. Skill level is totally irrelevant to being a good ranger as anyone can look for what is required on any course regardless if you're a top PGA player or someone who feels like finishing a round at par is still just a pipe dream.
There is no specific time or workload commitment for this. If you can play one course a week, that's great. If you can play more than that it's amazing. Have you wanted to give something back to this community and have a bit of free time to do something that doesn't feel at all like work? Have you ever played a course on Tour and wondered who was so blind to miss what you just saw and want a chance to become one of those blind people? Well now's your chance. If you're interested either reply in this thread or send me a message. I'll get you the more detailed information package which goes over everything you need to look for. Give it a read and then you can officially decide if you want to join on or not.
There's no specific number of new rangers that I'm looking for but it's mostly just to shore up the numbers a little bit and not a desperate cry for help.

Maybe a new staff of rangers each season?...I think it's time to switch out the schedulers too. This place is going stale

If you want to help out, VOLUNTEER!!! Scheduling takes a lot of time and it’s impossible to make everyone happy. If you have constructive input, I’ll take it. Otherwise, piss off

Maybe a new staff of rangers each season?...I think it's time to switch out the schedulers too. This place is going stale Ranger turnover is already fairly high from season to season. While I don't care to take the time to get exact numbers I'd guesstimate it's at least 50%. No more than a handful that have been doing it for more than a year. That being said I'm not sure what having 100% new rangers would do to freshen anything up since everything we do is strictly behind the scenes and has little to no visible impact on the weekly product. I'll let someone else speak up for the schedulers and ask you if this is your way of volunteering, since that would be off topic and I don't want to derail my own thread.

I see somebody already spoke up for the schedulers while I was typing, so that's good. If anybody else wants to complain please do it quickly so we can hopefully move on, or start a seperate "Our current volunteers need to be replaced by new, less boring volunteers" thread so the discussion can be thoroughly debated.

Otherwise, piss off Unfortunately, those who complain a lot are never available or have the desire to help out. In the very few cases where I have been able to get a guy that complains about schedules to help out, they last less than 2 weeks. So I'd prefer he didn't volunteer.
