The question always comes to me about what is best: Tournaments with many birdies or tournaments with many bogeys?
Sony Open in Hawaii - Party - South African Open - Storm
After my third lap (EURO), I wanted to play the joystick on the tv.
I forgot that the reason for the game was just fun.
To my surprise, I was not the only one who had "problems".
But then the question:
Strong winds and very fast greens are better for the competition?
Field with slow greens and wind breezes, the problem is losing one or two birds and falling behind in the tournament.
I think strong wind and fast green make the tournament more competitive. Although it is annoying many times.
I don't know what to expect on the fourth and last lap ...

You seriously don't know how lucky you are if you think the Euro event this week was too difficult.
Someone put it beautifully in the Euro thread "It was difficult, but it was all right in front of you"
Streets ahead of the vast majority of courses we've played on the PGA this season.

Streets ahead of the vast majority of courses we've played on the PGA this season. I have no doubt that the PGA is more difficult, because they are the best players. I refer to the conditions of the field - strong wind and fast green. I don't know what is best (or more fun) to play. For me there is only one mark left for the PGA - but I don't feel like getting there now ... When it happens (I believe) I will be in limbo for a long time ...

I always felt it was good to mix it up over the course of the season. Some players do better (relatively) in harder conditions and other players do better in pure shootouts.
Some players may handle wind better and others may handle elevation changes better. Some may be great at directly attacking pins and others might be better at using the helpful slopes to find a flat putt.
A monotonous challenge is just monotonous.

I think it takes away from the realism a bit seeing scores it -50 etc
The PGA tour should be the hardest of courses

I agree with Patrick - a mixture is required otherwise it becomes boring and monotonous. I prefer a grindy tournament rather that a birdiefest but I accept that both play part of a tour season pretty much as it would do in real life. Personally I think the course choices this year have been good on Euro and I look forward to competing further throughout the year.
