Welcome to Hallstatt Golf Club, a fictional course set in the mountains of Switzerland but inspired by topographical features from a lakeside town in Austria, where the course gets its namesake. This project was designed for the World Cup of Design and intended to stretch my skills as a community designer to the limits, as I tried for things I had never really gone after before in the hopes of making a course with interesting playability and a high degree of visual appeal. Hopefully I've pulled that off and you enjoy your rounds. Please feel free to leave feedback in the thread! The first complimentary membership has been awarded to Vic Campbell karma4u for his phenomenal pictures that were used to make the scorecard pics below. Thank you for being the BEST community course photographer in TGCT history! Enjoy your time at the club, but don't fall off the cliffs (some of them are OB, but we don't carry insurance), and don't forget to look for the DAM and gdog 's swan!

Just top quality work. You know my thoughts, but for posterity... Really enjoyed the variety of hole designs and unforced options. Planting is class and I love how out of your comfort zone you took yourself with this one. I think the par fives on the back nine are probably two of the standouts for me, as was the 2nd, where I genuinely got goosebumps on the flyover. Loved it and a real contender. P.S. already looking forward to jimgem 's first 15 minutes where he endlessly zooms around the plot. So much to see here.

I don't comment on all the great courses I play, but once in a while I just feel I need to...and this is one of those times. This is an awesome course folks. Planting is great, the routing is great, and the course looks natural, not forced. This was a joy to play and it was sad that it had to end. I would think this is going a long way in this contest. Super job here!!

Very impressive course Eric.
Might be the best setting and has the most character I've played in this theme. It's kind of limiting and I thought you really maximized it's potential.
3 and 13 were probably my favs, but I thought the sculpting through out was top notch to go with lots of variety and strategy in the hole design. Greens were also done great.
I know cart paths are garbage to work with but that one on 11?(could be wrong on that) really bugged me, so I could only give this course 1 star!
Kidding of course, fantastic course and good luck in the contest.

Awesome job here. I usually pay attention to the golf part more but I could stop looking at the views, sculpting etc. Shot a -9 from the tips with a 3 putt bogey on 18, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I shot over par next time. Course rewards well placed good shots but could punish bad ones. All around great course.
Good luck.
