You guys have to shoot 14 under on the hardest setups to win. We can't help it you guys are this good. When you play an easier setup you are going to do this. This is not a troll... This is what happens when pga players play the setups the rest of the tours get more often than not. There's no way around this. Just as there's no way to avoid complaints...short of staying away from the boards. I have no idea how you exercise the patience you do!

Regret having posted, my bad.
Had fun playing the first 3 (should have stopped after 2 in typical style), which is really all that matters.
The intent of my original post was to say that IMO there's a middle ground between this and what we've had, and it seems like a rather large one - a "compromise" on conditions which would be found in that middle ground between maxed out and stock default. For example, this course seemed ripe for a vf/vf/med setup somewhere in the first 3 rounds (or def everything w/ vf green firmness), but not using that very-firm setting seemed purposeful given the frequency of it's use in our events this year - but perhaps that's an assumption I should not be making. That's all, apologies for the opinion, should have phrased it differently I suppose.

I know it's a no-win situation to please everyone, but even a crappy PGAer like myself noted the easier conditions on an easier course.

I’ve gotta be honest, this is a great course imo... not being artificially tweaked to death for difficulty reasons and it’s made a refreshing change, for me at least.
It’s a birdie fest, but at least I’ve enjoyed myself so far. The artificial difficulty was getting to be torturous. Zero chance of me keeping it up for 4 rounds as is regularly evidenced and there will be a score that’s lower than the PS4 lead at present. Hopefully not from a resident robot.
Really enjoying the change of pace. Let’s mix a few tough ones in, with a few more minor settings tweaks around default, just don’t have a death march toward max fast and firm with pins on mounds each week.

Well after my European Tour win last week I was pretty excited and optimistic about my first PGA Tour event...until I saw the scores you guys are putting up! A few tempo issues in R1 meant I shot -13, and a few putts missed during R2 resulted in only -11, leaving me at -24 at the halfway point. Hopefully that is enough to make the cut but this has been a real baptism of fire for me! Good luck guys!

And for those storing the "we (TGCT Admin/Doyley) only care about realistic scoring" in your back pocket for a rainy day - just wanted to update you on my current status. I'm doing just fine knowing that a winner in the high 60-unders will probably take it. Check back if a score of 70-under or better wins though!

The scores aren't usually this low, but the courses aren't usually this easy either. *shrug*

Am 0/10 at this point on finding the fairway on #9 in the last two TST events and this one. I think I need a new approach on that hole.

I’ve gotta be honest, this is a great course imo... not being artificially tweaked to death for difficulty reasons and it’s made a refreshing change, for me at least. A) 100% agreed, this is a "favorite" course of mine, absolute gem that I've loved since it came out. Also think the elimination of spin in full shots within tgc19 makes this course so much easier, all of the short par4's have little to no penalty now, where in '19 you had to be sure about how close you wanted to be to avoid a spinner wedge ripping back of off the green.
B) I'd argue that going with a vf or def (fairway firm)/vf(green firm)/med or def (green speed) setting would yield about the same scoring and ease/enjoyment of play, but in a different manner. I actually have a lot of fun playing vf bounces on greens sculpted like these are where angle matters, especially when they play in the med.fast range without 187-ish rollouts. So to the point, my comment on having a round with VF green firmness wasn't a request to make it harder, just to make it...different...in a way that IMO accentuates one of the finest features of the course, and plays right into it's "style" (IMO).
Anyway, point B above isn't an outright complaint or anything, just something that I thought could have added another level of fun without making it feel like forced difficulty (still waiting for the "152 green speed is a designer tricking up a course" crowd...Mr. Fulton ). Again, thoroughly enjoy this course, don't care about the final score being "realistic" cause that's a lost cause, and I'll happily take this over the vf/vf/vf trend of late - only trying to add an opinion to make it even more fun, maybe.
And with that, I'll drop it.

100% agree. Firming this up for a round would be absolutely fine. Its very gettable with accessible pins and reasonable landing areas / filter spots. We’re on the same page.

-2 thru 5... the old capitulation is on. Some diabolical estimation skills.
Recovered somewhat and got to -9 thru 12... still, another missed opportunity.
Had a pint of Mountain Dew and took 8 off in the last 6 to be tied for the lead after 3 rounds.
-15 😒 -17 🙂 -17 💪🏻... just a steady -20 from here then.

Yeah, there's no way anyone can come away from this tourney thinking this isn't a phenomenal golf course. And despite the crazy scores, I think the tee shots make you think a ton. I missed quite a few fairways and that's why I'm going to miss out on winning this week.
The difficulty obviously could've been turned up with some trickier spots on the greens but it's also nice to have a week here and there where the greens don't make you want to turn the console off. Good choice by the schedulers to throw this one in here during a slow part of the year.

Couldn’t keep pace with -38 thru the last 36 holes from Mr Schell.
A couple of lobotomised decisions early doors put paid to that, and some tired miscalculations back 9 sealed it.
Still, -13 to get to -62 for the week. Be the best I’ll have scored for a while. Hopefully good enough for a top 10 😂
