Wasn't too excited to see the opening tee with a 600 yard par5 into the wind. Follow that with an almost 500 yard par4 into the same wind. Overall the course wasn't as difficult with beginner clubs as the last couple though.
I started off on fire. Couldn't miss a putt and got a lot of momentum going. -16 round 1.
Second round was just about as good, but I missed a short 5 foot putt on the 18th (thought it was straight...hit it straight...but missed by a good 4-5 inches).
I think that miscue got in my head. I started to struggle with the flat stick in R3 and completely lost my touch in R4.
Third round had the most wind of the tournament and it made for some challenging shots.
I wasn't too sharp mentally for this one, not even realizing the putting speed changed in the last couple of rounds.
Certainly a woulda-coulda-shoulda tournament for me after the great start.

I know these things get scheduled out weeks in advance but after I voiced my issues last week with consecutive long courses, to step up to the first tee and see a 600 yd. hole made it feel like I was being trolled. I can respect that and it did make me laugh. That humour disappeared at hole 2. Fortunately things got better after that with only one more long par 4 the rest of the way. Truth be told I'd have no problem playing 600 yd. par 5's all day long. They take away the fun of having a possible eagle chance but they're still totally playable even with beginner clubs. 500 yd. par 4's are a completely different story and I would have no problem with never seeing another one of them. Still, this was a much better beginner club course than the last two so that was nice.
Was only -4 through 9 holes and I'm not yet sure if that's because it was the tougher half of the course or it just took me a while to warm up. -7 on the 2nd 9 left me -11 for the day which is a score I'll always be happy with.

I even went into this tournament with the "ok, make a bunch of birdies on the front 9 and hope to grab a couple more on the back" ------------ Highlights for me are 1-all rounds under par. 2- R3..18'th, got myself too close to the sucker tree. 8..destroyed a somewhat decent round 3- R4 Something about a hole in one.. Overall a decent tournament for me. Yeah long holes (only my 2nd event since coming back to the game so it hasn't sucked the life out of me yet... Good luck to everyone yet to play.

Well I just played round 2 and was split -7 and -5 on the front and back this time, so.... Good to know about the tree on 18 in round 3. In the first two rounds I've sat there on the tee wondering if it was going to get in the way of shot 2. So far it hasn't but I'll take extra care next time I get there.

You're already making me feel like I'm becoming "that" guy and I really don't want to become "that" guy. I'll go out and find wagtunes and beg him to come back and play on the BCT before I let myself become "that" guy.

At least now if I ever get around to designing a course I'll know what I need to do to make sure it gets used on Tour. Every par 5 will be 600+ yards. Par 4's all between 480 and 510 yards. Every par 3 except one will be between 230 and 260 yards. The final hole will be a 56 yard par 3. Boom!! The most perfect BCT course ever made.

Round one started off well. Clean card and a -7 to start the tourney! Could have been much better as I was fairly dialed in but leaving putts inches off. MO finally caught me and I chipped in for eagle two consecutive holes! (14 and 15) Just dumb luck more than anything. Round two this evening and hoping to keep it going.

Went ahead and finished up to avoid some stress since I should have my best 2nd round placing on the leaderboard once those scores get posted. Now I don't have to worry about seeing how high I am and have to worry about playing up to that level. Overall it wasn't too bad but some sloppiness with a double bogey in round 3 and a bogey in the 4th kept my scores under what I had in the first two. Still ended with a slightly better score than usual and we'll see if that's enough to move me up from my standard mid-teens finish.

Round two was going along just fine... nothing exciting but stringing two birds and some pars together... then the bogey hit and the roller coaster started. Couple up and down holes but then I leveled off. Managed a few more birds and finally settled in at -5. Top 25 for now, but gotta continue the pace and pick it up a bit to try and stay in the top 25. Nice course but I keep forgetting about the false fronts on a few holes and they bite me.

everything went right for me in rd. 1 but happiest about my rd. 3 despite strong winds. had a potential tin cup moment at 11 since the wind gave me a shot to go for it in 2, but played it like simms and laid up. not sure if it will be enough as there's a good crowd at the top with some really good scores, but really happy with how I played. should be a fun leaderboard to watch. I used to play my rounds over the span of a couple days, but i've found I'm playing better when I get all 4 in consecutively.

Other than missing a two foot putt for birdie in Rd 2, and two lip outs in Rd 4,I was very competitive. I made a 30ft putt on #16 in Rd 4, which I'm assuming will be very important for the count back.

Clean card and a -9 for round three! Very pleased with the round even tho I left a few out there. False fronts got me again but not so bad this time. Ball placement is really coming together right now. It's amazing... if you get the ball close to the hole putting becomes a lot easier! Gotta remember that... *eyeroll* Sitting in 26th right now. Gotta pick it up in round four to get into that top 25.

Still can’t find a way into that proving to be very elusive top 10. I haven’t given up completely yet, but I’m getting discouraged.
