Hello brave souls. Before we begin, please complete the following questionnaire (circle one response for each question only): Do you have a certified level 5 radiation suit? YES NO Have you completed and passed the Base Series-Irradiated Environment Survival Examination (BS-IESE)? YES NO Do you have your safety buddy? YES NO Is your panic button in proper working order? YES NO *Once you have answered "YES" to all of the above questions, you may proceed. Thank you for your cooperation and support of safe golf at Scorched Horizon Golf Club. Welcome to Scorched Horizon Golf Club. Located on a fictional island off the north coast of Estonia, Scorched Horizon provides the most unique and dangerous golf experience in the world. Beginning sometime in the late 1950's, the Soviet Union occupied the island and used it for conventional explosives testing and eventually nuclear device testing. During the height of the Cold War, the island and surrounding area experienced the highest levels of radioactive material saturation ever recorded due to the nuclear testing activities. The radiation was so severe, it forced Soviet soldiers and scientists occupying the site to evacuate. Radiation levels on and around the island remained the highest in the world until they were surpassed by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. What was left behind came as a shock to surveyors who ventured to the island in 2019. A golf course. Nothing more, nothing less. Because many military records were destroyed after the fall of the Soviet Union, there is very little information on the island other than the device testing and radiation levels. Historians hypothesize the golf course was built and enjoyed by the occupying soldiers and scientists while non-nuclear testing was occurring but was abandoned after nuclear tests on the island began. Surveyors noted extremely high levels of radiation throughout the island and were especially intrigued by a brownish-orange glow that hung in the sky. Scientists later concluded the interesting haze was in fact radioactive particles hanging in the air. The island became known as Scorched Horizon due to the cloud of radiation. There is a strict time limit of 4 hours per round. Failure to adhere to 4 hours on the course will result in permanent radiation poisoning so pace of play is more than just etiquette at this club. SHGC management is not responsible for any missing or extra limbs you may experience during your time on the island. Enjoy your round

Hey Bread,
Just played a round on Scorched. Really enjoyed my round today. Course has good flow and is routed well. Default lighting was done really well, I can still see! Great job with the bunker construction, they came out really nice. Played a round on clear conditions as well and it still looked really good. Some thoughts: Liked all the par 5's here, how on #6 the cliff sneaks up on you to the right, better hit it straight. #8 as well, with another good look off the tee and a demanding approach shot. Well done. The gorge behind #13 was a really good look as well. I played Pin 3 and that pin on 14 is a beast! Another great look off of #15 with another risk reward approach shot into this par 5. Couple of good looking holes to finish off the round, #16, #18 and there you have it. Enjoyed my round and will be adding to Society schedule for 4 rounds this week. I look forward to playing your next entry in the series. Great Job, Bread!

Just played this course and I give it a thumbs up, great design and well thought out approach shots. I liked the thought put into each hole and how risky shots were rewarded with better puts and green approach shots.
Great course man, I hope it garners the plays it deserves!

I had a feeling this would be coming to the rangers, that's why it was on the shortlist.

bring it! edit: wow that lighting does crazy things to the trees. They light up like they have Christmas lights in them or something! Shot -11 which is very good for me on master clubs (usually a pro club guy but made the switch recently)

Great course! I am new to designing, as TGC2019 is my first game in the series. I made an account on this site just to say how much I enjoyed this course. I liked how the bunkers had the little grass islands, and the landscape sculpting was very realistic. Thought using rocks as the tee markers was a nice touch as well. Very well done, 5/5!!!

Thank you my man and welcome! The main idea of this course was to be as natural and rough as I could get without compromising an enjoyable round of golf. Glad you enjoyed it

That approach is mean and I don’t think any pin is easy. The green was even more elevated but I lowered it to make birdie at least somewhat possible haha

Fantastic course! Been looking forward to this release for awhile and it did not disappoint. I think the style of the course matched the atmosphere very well and had a good variety to the routing. Lots of stunningly beautiful holes along the coastline but another hole that stood out to me was hole 12. A fairly simple hole compared to most but I loved how it was tucked into the back of the treeless rocky mound. Really good use of open space leaving the sightlines down hole 11 and 13 while still making it feel like it's own unique space on the course. I played pin 4 cause I felt like a challenge and the back nine destroyed me. Shot even on the front and +7 on the back. Not sure if the greens on the back were actually harder or if I just suck but thought it was worth mentioning. I haven't been playing much lately so I'm pretty rusty, will try another round soon. Thanks for making this course, it's right up there with the best fantasy courses in this game.

Nice course, bud. Played very well and looked great. Couldn't stop admiring the lighting, it was tremendous. Two rounds in already and I'm sure i'll be back.
And, yes, that back 9 can be a bear.

Not intentional, just kind of how it worked out. Thanks for playing!

SCobbTDC_tv Thinks we should throw this course some "crumbs." I agree ...
