Since I know I'm not the only one that's listening to podcasts/music while working on a new course, I'm curious to know what y'all enjoy listening to/watching when designing courses.
Also...do you also have a snack + beverage of choice for putting in a good chunk of time designing courses?

When I sit down for a long design session I typically will listen to Indie or Folk music. I also often watch other TGC twitch streams while designing. Most often just with a glass of ice water... nothing fancy. I typically do not eat while designing.
If it's an evening weekend design session it's also common for me to sip on rum and coke or a neat higher end rum or single malt whiskey. When I do this, however, I usually only take a sip when I save otherwise I'm too busy with my hands on my controller to focus on drinking lol.

Nothing like a nice beer or two to get those design juices flowing! I listen to a lot of podcasts but not while designing. I find it hard to concentrate on both at the same time. I prefer to listen to my eclectic Spotify mix. Lots of Velvet Underground, Animal Collective, Parquet Courts and other indie/experimental music. Creative music keeps me on my toes. I’m usually designing later at night when the kids are in bed so don’t eat too much while designing.

Usually it's first thing in the morning before the family is awake so it's a coffee and NY sports talk radio (WFAN) for comic relief! If at night during weekend it might be a glass of red...

Don’t listen to anything except the designer birds chirping. Actually haven’t really thought about listening to music while designing. Might give it a try.
Usually don’t eat/drink anything either unless it’s the weekend, then it’s a nice stiff rum and coke until my fairway splines can’t stay in their lanes

I'm usually in one of 3 moods: Norah Jones, 70s Rock, or 90s Alt/Grunge. I've found that an Ol' Fashioned goes good with all 3.

My design partners were usually coffee, water and synthwave.

BIG podcast guy here, so I'll usually have Chasing Scratch/No Laying Up/Trap Draw playing while I'm designing (late nighter here too...shoutout to the day job)
Drink wise, LOVE the amount of Rum and Coke replies (that's my beverage of choice) otherwise I'm a big fan of sweet tea if it's a weeknight. Also love to keep a bowl of cheez-its or goldfish crackers nearby for some light snacking. Savory over sweet for me.

I have dual monitors so I design on one and have someone's design stream or a design VOD open on the other for background noise while I'm designing.
Also copious amounts of craft beer, almost exclusively IPA's.

Morning before work: I design with a coffee and someone's VOD playing on my phone next to me. Something about some bloke screaming "hayych beeee" that really inspires some creativity. If not than an old Fried Egg podcast or morning sports radio wgr550.
Nights if i get TV time (ps4 designer): Ice cold Coors Light to help dinner digest and i'll have some comedy station playing on Slacker. Or a football game on Hulu live if there's one on.

Have you guys ever tried brain.fm? Check out that site - amazing science behind it and it works. I put it on "creative" mode and the undertones and sounds really help the brain engage!

I'll have to check this out Tim. I've heard of it a few times but never tried it. Going to jump into the Brain.fm the next time I start designing
