*** THIS IS JUST A SIMULATION ***
You sign up and then just sit back and watch your virtual golfer - requires no other commitment from you
So I've adjusted my DGA spreadsheets to accommodate TGCT names. I'm going to start a series where I sim a full season w/ a field of approx 260 TCGT names. Currently all PGA card owners are in as well as approx 100+ Euro players. If you want to join in the fun please post below and I'll sub your name in for some of the inactive/non-forum members. Please no gamertags, I'll take your TGCT Tour name that shows up on our leaderboards here.
Some TGCT Sim Tours features:
- Full PGA Tour season
- Fully functioning WGR
- Season leaders
- Potential to do more than 1 season (I've done 3+ seasons before)
- Pool of 260 players so you won't play every week (much realism!)
Should be fun to watch our virtual golfers battle it out.
I've randomized all the stats - I took the max/min stats of the real life PGA and gave everyone a random value between those two. So there's no telling how good your golfer will be until we get deeper into the season.
Ratings are based on:
Birdies or Better
BOB-Par 3
BOB-Par 4
BOB-Par 5
Par 4 Eagles
Par 5 Eagle PCT
Bogey Avoidance
From there your stats are run through a simulator that plays out every hole - but that will be too much data to put online (showing your hole scores for every event in a season) so you'll have to settle for just looking at your round scores.
Will give it a day or so to give people a chance to sign up - in the meantime have a look at some test results so you know what you'll be looking at once we get going for real.
To sign-up post in this thread with your TGCT Tour name - You can sign up at any time - including mid-season
Offseason Training
Training Points
Everyone starts with 1 free training point.
Everyone with a bold name on our TGCT Sim Stats gets an additional 2 free training points (for posting in this thread during the season)
Everyone that posts their training requests in the correct format gets additional 3 training points (mainly including your tour name so I don't have to dig around for who you are!)
Most training points you can have is 6
So what can you do with these training points?
You can assign them to certain areas of your game that need work. Look at this colour chart to see where your sim sits in relation to the rest of the tour. Red means you're below average, white average and green above average. The darker the colour the more extreme (better for green, worse for red) you are.
You can only submit two training sessions max - so make sure to use them wisely
Assigning your training points
You have two options
1. Chance: Random value between the max/min (each random roll = 1 training point)
2. Sure thing: 10% bump per training point (can't go past league max)
Ratings
1. Event % (chance to play) - did your sim sit half the season - a bump here may see you play more
2. Birdies or better - overall chance to birdie on any given hole
3. Par 3 - Birdies or better for just par 3's
4. Par 4 - Birdies or better for just par 4's
5. Par 5 - Birdies or better for just par 5's
6. Par 4 - Eagle % - chance to eagle par 4's
7. Par 5 - Eagle % - chance to eagle par 5's
8. Bogey Avoidance - chance to avoid bogies or worse
Submission format
Sim Name:
Rating # (from above), Chance or Sure Thing (if sure thing assign how many points)
Example
Sim Name: Scott Doyley
1 - Chance (1 point)
8 - Sure Thing (2 points)
This example shows that I want to re-roll my Event % (trying to improve it from just average) and bump up my bogey avoidance which is already pretty good. I would then have 3 points left for another training session. Nothing stopping you from using all your points in one session. Might be wise to hold some back if you choose chance and get a bad roll!
Training will last until November 25th. I'll update the ratings as quick as I can and you can see the updated results on the colour chart. I will not be showing the exact ratings so you'll just have to go off the shades of red/green.
