Construction has begun on Shutter Island in Boston Harbor. This place was once the site of a mental institution for the criminally insane. Pics from the designer to follow.

Mate..if this one will be just the half good as your last work..it will be another masterpiece.
(If you need some idea, ask to Scorsese. He is the man. Always.)

The general idea is taking shape as far as course elements are concerned. I think I got the lighting right. I actually spent a couple hours on lighting alone. Will have a very rough, very messy feel.

Finished routing and we’re coming in at 6-6-6, 36-36, just over 7,000 yards. The real challenge with this course will be sloped lies and undulating greens. I’m maybe using one click to slightly smooth the greens from whatever the natural land gives them and finding a place for the pins. Should be interesting

Really like the width and mood you've got going here. Looking very natural as well with that fairway shape - excited to see where this one heads.

Love this, blending real life lidar with unique design is brilliant. It’s on my list of things to do next. Norway and Ireland are the two I’m looking at for inspiration Might even look at the real highlands in Scotland

Hate that about the lighting, especially when you want the sun, and you get it perfect, then it just decides to move right in your eyes.

Stumbled on this light setting that I’m really digging. Probably going to go away from the whole “Shutter Island” theme in favor of something else. I think it’s starting to look more like a nuclear fallout sunrise kind of thing. Any suggestions on course names would be cool.

I like the start of this project. Happy to see something other than a cloudless, low light set up. I’ve played too many course that were done in the “TGC vacuum” setting so this is a nice departure into something different. Will be following moving forward.

A new name has been discussed and agreed upon after a heated debate with the voices in my head... coming soon-ish: Scorched Horizon Golf Club
