This is where I got the idea. I wanted to do a course like this. 18 one direction on pin 1, 18 the other direction on pin 2. But... waypoints. So I went 9 one way, 9 the other, instead of publishing 2 different courses.
I love Doak, and I am stoked that he is renovating Memorial Park in Houston for the Houston Open. Also love adventures in golf, great series.

I believe mayday was thinking of doing a course like this but changed his mind for the World Cup. This is a brilliant idea and first of its kind. Soak is easily one of my favorite modern architects.

I believe mayday was thinking of doing a course like this but changed his mind for the World Cup. This is a brilliant idea and first of its kind. Soak is easily one of my favorite modern architects. That’s not inaccurate, though I feel it’s not a concept well-suited to a Contest format when judges are tasked to judge ONE course. So you’d have to pick which of the two routings you prefer, which would show preference to one, diminishing the other — exactly what Doak didn’t want to do with The Loop, if you watch EAL’s video. I may revisit the idea some day. But, if I do, you won’t know it’s reversible until after it drops.
