I played a quick practice round at default. Thoughts appreciated if you agree or disagree. 1. The time I played was very dark.(not sure if it was morning or dusk) Wind was mild. 2. One par 3 on the front had a yellow one square from the pin. 3. I had 12-15 fast downswings but they did not hurt me. 4. With master clubs and the white tees coupled with default conditions, I had a ton of 128-138 yard approaches. 5. Par 5s are very gettable. I eagled one. 6. I wasted my one good round for the week as I shot -13.
With tougher conditions, I am sure the course will not be so easy. I agree with Ben's assessment.

I had a quick run round on the defaults and it seems a pretty straightforward track. I reckon the more talented Dirtbags will tear it apart. I'm expecting another 56 from Art with the form he is in! I'd expect to see the wind ramped up to give it some teeth.
For Pro club users concerned about the length I believe we are going from the forward tees (I'd check just to be sure though!!)
Mighty kind of you Ben, but I would not bet the farm on that....unless you don't fancy being a farmer. Fortunately I'm not a betting man Art so I won't be backing up my predictions with hard cash....or farms for that matter!
Bill's got his money on you though...…

Sorry Ben, the Bashers are playing the MOD boys this week. I am not pulling against Art this week but I am not pulling for him either!

I seem to have a gap in my Clubs (Pro) between 132 and 154 yards. The logic in me (not the golfer coz I don't play proper golf) tells me this is wrong but I can't work out which stick to ditch!!
EDIT: Ditched 3I for 9I. See if that works. We now have better uniform spacing!

Agree on the lighting, hope they use brighter settings. FWIW, I could see playing this course with medium wind and RAIN! Loved the subtle breaks on the greens, I think they could play quicker and be challenging without being too hard. Course could handle more wind too, but does not need it from the golds to be a challenge. Could not match Bill but did have a clean -6. I think it is a fine choice for CC-Pro. Onward!

I played a practice round from the black tees (pro clubs) - it's looooong. Agreed with you, the course is very dark. I switched from default time of day to noon and it was still dark.
Also fired a 59, no eagles, no bogeys. Hopefully I can hit it straight again tomorrow for round 1.
Side note : what are those colored discs that appear in fairways from time to time in this game? Just glitches/artifacts?

Dirtbags Season 6 - Week 1 Final Round Up
So Dirtbags Season 6 is up and running. Everyone has had the opportunity to settle into their new team, not so many complaints about the course, some excellent performances, some not so good performances and the Dirtbag who gave us a bit of a panic before the teams were put together showed many of us how to play the course.
The Wolf Pack 15 The Foxtrotters 17
Hung in the balance until the final match played where Hunter Hunter B squeezed past Glenn gtmcf813 to take the team victory for the Trotters on his way to an individual haul of 5 points. Paul sid snott also weighed in with 5 as did Mike katana22 making an impressive Dirtbag debut. For the Wolves Ernie cappy1 made his usual solid contribution returning 6 points with Frans fransslabak backing him up with 4.
Masters Of Our Domain 26 Charlie’s Hells Angels 6
The Masters strode to the head of the table with an emphatic victory over the Angels who appear to be still on the beach and waiting for the season to start. Peter bogeyman , who last week stayed in CC-D by the skin of his teeth, took the place apart with a Full House ably supported by Johnny evilgrin72 Art Art Vandelay and Randy RHMIII who helped themselves to 6 points apiece. Simon SAM was the only Angel to come out of the week with any credit.
Bogey Bashers 12 Fox Up The Bad Vector 20
A slow start by the Bogey’s in the Doubles left them chasing the game and with honours even in the singles, the Vector’s held on to their early advantage. Vector’s were led home by Kevin E up mup kupen nup and his Full House. Ashton Ashton Fox returned to form adding a healthy 6 points. For the Bogey’s a rare off week for Marc Crazy Croc but a 4 point return for both David K @bovakian and Kevin M lions67 . Four bonus points also for the Vector’s adding a nice little extra.
Team Standings Masters Of Our Domain 26 -142 Fox Up The Bad Vector 24 -90 Foxtrotters 20 -116 The Wolf Pack 15 -96 Bogey Bashers 12 -86 Charlie's Hells Angels 7 -77
Individual Standings
North American Conference 6 Randy, Johnny, Art, Ashton, Ernie 5 Hunter 4 Kevin M, Mark 2 Victor, Bill, Glenn 0 Chuck
Rest of the World Conference 8 Peter, Kevin E 5 Mike, Paul 4 Simon, Frans, David K 3 Pat 2 Ben, Marc, Les 0 David H
Full House - Peter Mollon, Kevin Everard Blobs - Chuck Gunsaullus, David Herron Best Individual Score - Johnny Bollocks Best Individual Round - Randy Mears -15 (Round 3) Bandit of the Week - Kevin McGuire 4 points from his -9 WTF award - Art Vandelay tearing the course up with -14 in Round 1 and still not getting Best Round!
Next up is Abandoned Dunes Golflinks. Looks a nice layout and I expect many of the talented Dirtbags will score well. The less talented should pack a towel and some budgie smugglers.
I shall be signing off on the Round Up’s from today, leaving me to concentrate on the scoring which requires every brain cell that I have been left with after too many years of drink and debauchery. I leave you in the very capable hands of Mark IGolfBad, who I imagine will take no prisoners in his weekly summaries!
Onwards!
