That looks like it took a while! I feel for you! I’m 180 hours into my RCR and it’s a task to maintain motivation, I find myself going “you’re making a great course for the people, keep going champ, resist temptation to go looking for new LiDAR plots..” paddyjk19, keep at it, I know the feeling as well. I lost count of how many hours it took to do the rocks on just the 4th green/5th tee alone. I'm expecting this RCR to take well over 200 hours because there are multiple holes with these types of rocks (leave it to Pete Dye to make my life hell). Anyway, keep checking in and maybe we can motivate each other to keep going! Good luck. Would love to see some pics of what you are working on.

What the heck dude... this is crazy! That looks like it took a really long time but man does it look incredible!! Wow I’m so impressed. I hope you don’t feel any obligation from any of us to put this much detail into this course. But seriously with the immense amount of time you’re putting into this course, it’ll no doubt be one of the best RCRs in the game and be that much more fun to play. I can’t thank you enough for your work on this. People like you are truly what makes this community so special! scoll3 as always, thanks for the encouragement. It's definitely taking a long time to do all the rock work, but I'm determined to keep at it. I'm expecting this course to take well over 200 hours. I lost count of how many hours it took to do the 4th green/5th tees but I'm so glad that you suggested this course because I'm having a blast working on this. It's testing my skill and imagination for sure. Absolutely no obligation felt on my part, it's just the anal nature of my DNA (the same guy who'll go to the range and hit the same shot with the same club over and over again for 2+ hours). Because of my concerns for the resource meter, I decided to do all the rock work first (it's extensive) so I can gauge what's left to plant with. I also hope I have enough to try my hand at recreating the bridge in the background. We'll see over the coming months.

Is your object meter doing ok? I did the same thing with Black Rock, did all the rocks first to see how much I had left. Rock walls are insanely time consuming to build if you want them to look nice, and man-made ones with small rocks are even worse.

I'm hoping to keep it to no more than 50 once I get the rocks done, but I've still got a long way to go and I don't know if I can hit that goal. I'm doing everything I know how to do to make this look good. We'll see how it plays out in the coming weeks.

Thanks mate, I took this message as motivation and knocked out the last 24 hours of planting before the meter ran dry, I'd have liked to add more but in the end it's come out pretty good and I'm happy, here it is: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/21428/stoke-park-country-clubI've already started my next project so we must all be crazy for this life absorbing work!

That looks fantastic! Going to try to play it tonight. I’ll post some feedback once I’m done. Just out of curiosity, what’s your next project?

I haven’t posted any pics recently, so here are two from my ongoing work. It’s coming along slowly and I haven’t had much time recently to work on it, but I’m making progress.

How’s your object meter doing? Those rocks look like they’ll take up a fair bit! Do you find they make the gameplay stutter at all like waterfalls do? Really impressed by this so far

Really impressed by this so far Thanks for the feedback! My object meter is roughly around 40% so far, but there's still a lot of rock work to do. So far I've seen no signs of stuttering during play testing. Still concerned about the object meter and there is a waterfall on one par 3 on the back nine, so the stuttering issue is a concern as well. By the way, how is your current project coming along?

Good thanks mate, hoping it’ll be done over the next week or so - keep an eye on the completed course thread, it’s incoming! Sounds like you’re on track with the meter but it’s so tense isn’t it, my worst nightmare is running out before getting anything near completing, I find myself constantly re-evaluating priorities and what I can afford to overlook from a presentation stand point

Yes, it's tense with the object meter for sure. I had to compromise some when I did Colonial Country Club earlier this year. That's why I haven't done any planting at all so far. This course has so much rock and the way I decided to do it made me think I needed to do that first and then plant with whatever is left over. Still hoping I can keep it to no more than 50% when I'm finished with the rock, but it's going to be close.

Fingers crossed for you, worst case scenario let’s hope auto gen gives you some workable planting because this rock detail is so important

It’s such an annoyance having to sacrifice quality sometimes, my last publish I had to forgo the steps to tee boxes and retaining walls on some tee boxes because of the meter limit.
On my current course it’ll probably be the long grass that misses out or clubhouse surrounding areas because the background is so important on this estuary links track in doing.
Let’s hope 2020 release has some more scope
