When someone is API'd I believe it should be publicly noted in the forum somewhere. What's the secret? Someone disappears off the board. If I look at the PGA leaderboard IRL and all of a sudden somebody that was on it is off it, there would be an announcement. Who is gone and which round did they get API'd?

The Great and Honourable "Ronda". He gone.

A pair of -2's, just see if I can stick around 2 more weeks for the minor events. Won't be too disappointed when I finally do get demoted though.
Is Ronda gonna ban himself from his own society now?

He bans everyone else, for pretty much anything. Mitch Barnett got banned for posting a video of Crawesy’s beautiful swing in action on the HB forum.

I like it!
The harsher the better.
It's BS to see someone make a cut and then not bother to finish. (Things come up, but come on...)
I absolutely LOVE the failing of the API punishment.

Banning someone from the next event for failing once is a bit silly IMO.
The vast majority who fail do it because the controller their controller develops a dead zone or they are using "helpful" equipment without realising it. With a few exceptions most people are not deliberately trying to game the system.
All in favour of severe penalties for repeat offenders, but some of the most honest players around here have been API'd once. If once they are flagged they do everything to rectify the issue (usually just swapping controllers) what's to be gained from banning them from the following week when they are no longer using the equipment that gave them an advantage?
Are we seriously suggesting that Smiffy deserved a one week ban for one pull after 4 years of totally fair play? (Don't think he was pulled from TST, but let's pretend he was). It's implying wrongdoing where there clearly wasn't any.
And actually, if someone is flicking or refusing to swap out a dodgy controller, surely you'd weed them out quicker by allowing them to play the following week and get their next strike sooner rather than later?

I get your point on the 1 x pull = 1 missed week, but to say there's very rarely an attempt to deliberately game the system, would be well wide of the mark, in my opinion. There are quite a few people out there that are using methods that are incredibly close to the line, and that clearly advantage them over the competition. I think that the genuine guys out there would take one on the chin and miss a week, if the threat of punishment for singular offences discourages even a few of the chancers...

Just for the record - my good friend SMIFFYLFC79 doesn't have an exemplary 4 year fair play record, and neither do I. We both got pulled last year. I think we both deserve to have the book thrown at us Regards the allowing them to play the next week to nail them earlier - much of this, as far as I'm aware, is to discourage the use of dubious techniques / dodgy controllers... The aim is NOT to ban anybody for the season after 3 fails. The aim is to stop people failing at all.

You're being a bit PGA centric here. Don't deny that certain "methods" are more prevalent up here, but TST is a tour for everyone and the flickers are an even tinier percentage there than here.
Again, calling a one off pull a "punishment for an offence" implies cheating. The vast vast majority of one time pulls are nothing of the sort. They are accidents.
To prove an offence you usually need to prove intent. If someone ignores warnings about their controller/swing method and carries on regardless and is pulled numerous times - there's clearly intent to gain an advantage and they deserve everything they get. But on a one off basis - nah
And the real chancers won't let the prospect of a measly one week ban from doing what they do IMO.

Flickers less prevalent on TST than PGA? You sound quite confident about that Jack, but based on what I see, I don't fully agree... 1st time pulls - Take a week out to get the problem fixed. Don't just come back and try again. The onus is on you, as a player, to be sure that you comply moving forward. As for the vast, vast majority being accidents, I think that is much less clear cut than in previous years. There have been multiple warnings about certain techniques from admin. People shouldn't be surprised if they're pulled if they use them and fail. Will it really put off the real chancers? Maybe not...We can all hope.
