its really hard to know you are supposed to putt, on a mini golf course, when it gives you the putter on every tee. honest mistake, anyone could have made it. oh wait, they didnt. ooops im "whining" again. Debby Downer out.

oh i did right after playing your ghost. i still wonder what was going through your head when you saw everyone at +8, +12, +15. but you were under par or even the entire time LOL. hitting your desperate little flop shots right at the hole 90% of the time. but then, for some unknown reason, you were putting other holes that were just as long. like oh ill putt this one, but the other 15 holes? nah ill just flop hahahahaha. innocent mistake.
and we will just give you the benefit of the doubt for DQing yourself, because you knew someone would see your score, play your ghost, and find out any way. better to get in front of it so you come off as the honorable chap you are.

Started cold, was -1 through 7 or something, then strung 9 birds together to scrape together a -11. Much better second round but missed a couple that could have made it great, -24 at the halfway mark.
I’d like to see people only discuss their rounds as they’re displayed on the site rather than dumping their whole score out there within a day of the tournament starting so people aren’t disheartened or intimidated by the scores out there, or to post in here. It would make it more like a RL clubhouse where individual great rounds were discussed, and people that normally shoot 68’s getting the kudos they deserve when they shoot a 61.
I have no plans of arguing with anyone, or being a huge part of this community - but you might get more people posting if it replicated a RL clubhouse rather than a place to dump scores and argue about non tournament related stuff.

I think that is a good idea and I'll do that going forward. Edited my original post to not reveal scores.

Wasn’t directed at you specifically John, it’s just what has happened since forever.
This tour has so much potential. I’m bitter I missed out on the event we thought up and won’t play in it going forward - but I’d like this place to be a place people want to be.

I can see it being more fun as the scores come in during the week. I can easily comply with that style. I don't ever post my scores to brag or discourage others. I tend to play it all at once in one sitting, and that happens to be Sunday morning for me because I'm too busy during the week to play. I always just post that experience.

This is a really good idea! I've been on these tours for a couple years and been a part of just about every level offered (because my game has more ups and downs than a roller coaster) and I always wondered why it wasn't more commonly suggested that instead of being spoiler threads the decorum was to discuss only the rounds equal to the day of the leaderboard on TGCTours.com. It would be pretty cool if folks agreed as a group to adhere to that, as I see Yaters has already liked the idea as well. That definitely would make these threads all up and down the tours more like a clubhouse IRL.

Boffo did that last week as he completed his rounds. Others do this as well. People like me that play all at once (or a couple of rounds at a time) would need to be more disciplined. The idea is solid and I plan to adhere to it. The game itself tries to simulate this a bit with a 'live' leaderboard. Though it is not full proof since you can find other ways to see scoring before even playing (e.g. - you can pull up the recent scores easy enough). I personally don't want to know any scores. I avoid ghost usage and zip through the scoreboard screen after each hole. I turned off the commentary guy too because he can give it away as well "...Our leader is now at -12..." So I'm onboard for this style.

I typically play a round a day and post scores/summaries once I've finished. Some days I get ambitious or really like the course and will play 2-4 rounds in a row. I will guarantee that my posts will be more detailed if I'm summarizing them right after playing them. If I wait a day or four before discussing them I won't remember anything beyond what I find on the scorecard.
What I'm more likely to do is summarize my rounds as I play them but not include the specific score until after they're posted to the leaderboard. It might give a general idea of how I scored within maybe a four of five stroke range, which I 'd think is enough to keep a sense of mystery about the score.
In other news I'm set to go for my 1st official event. Probably will be playing the 1st round shortly. Since this is my 1st week I'm going to set modest goals for myself. Hoping to finish even par or better and make the top 200.

Round 1 is in the books. It was one of those rounds where it never really felt like I got on a roll at all, didn't make any great approach shots leaving me tap-ins, or made any challenging putts. At the same time I played safe, mistake free golf hitting fairways, leaving mid range birdie putts, and making most of the putts I should have been making. In other words the score was always destined to be better than it felt like it should have been but certainly nothing special. In other words it was a bogey free -8. Nothing I'm excited about but I'm not disappointed totally either.

I don't think we get anywhere near 200 people playing these events, so you should nail that one too. I hope you score really well and finish 1 stroke behind me

No point in disappointing myself. Especially at a level where I'm focused more on having fun than worrying about how competitive I am.

We try and just have fun down here on the BCT, though I guess that might not exactly be what has been showing lately.
