Welcome to week two of the Korn Fu***ng Ferry tour and this week we have a treat for you guys as we let you play Sunset Ranch Golf Club by theclv24 . What do I mean when I say we let you play. Well Sunset Ranch is the schedulers private golf course. It’s where we go for the schedulers conferences, where we go to escape and it’s also where we go to practice scheduling. Craig has created a course that changes daily, yellow lines appear near the pins, then disappear, do we change the pin? Do we leave it and hope no one spots the lines? Do we decide despite the pin being illegal that it helps rather than hinders? With the course being wide open, the wind constantly changes. So do you keep the wind low to make all the holes birdie chances? Do we make the wind high and laugh at players attempts to do the impossible? Then there is the annual taunt day where professional taunters and keyboard warriors from www.tauntsandsnowflakes.com follow us around the course screaming into our ears such gems as “ this course is a monstrosity” “who the hell scheduled this” I have played better auto-gen courses” and the classic “ this scheduler does not have a clue”. All these questions need to be answered every week and now here is the chance for you, the everyday normal golfer, not at all special like a scheduler to answer these questions for yourself as you become schedulers for the day, as well as playing your round, you need to write a full report on what you would change, what settings you would use. You don’t have to worry about the taunters though, I have decided that would be unfair on amateur schedulers though.
Now, you may be thinking, why are we getting to play on the schedulers private course? Well, the truth is, after this weeks event, the course is being demolished and we are moving to a new private course. It is being demolished because of the designer and the fact that tgctours can not be associated with a criminal such as Craig LeVasseur. Some of you may already know this but for those that don’t, here is the 100% accurate and true story of Craig LeVasseur. Craig is a course designer that is known for stealing ideas from other golf courses and publishing them under the term rcr which stands for real course robbery. For years Craig got away with his crimes until one day he went to far and published a course called Magnolia National, a fantastic recreation of of one of the worlds most iconic golf courses. A wonderful pin point accurate course that allowed everyday golf fans a chance to live their dreams by playing at the masters, by letting people visit a golf course that most would never get to see in real life. What’s wrong with that I hear you ask? Well the issue is, Craig opened up the course for everyone, rich and poor, black and white and worst of all, women. This horrendous act, this despicable behavior could just not be tolerated. So the ANGC took the only option open to them and put a bounty of this monsters head. What has this got to do with tgctours? First of all, the reputation of the tours, we can not be associated with such a evil man. Second, what if while scheduling, someone took a shot at Craig and a scheduler got caught in the crossfire. Designers are a dime a dozen and easily replaced but there are just four schedulers, those amazing, incredible people are indispensable and not worth the risk so the tours decided to wash their hands of Craig LeVasseur. One final thing, should you decide the bounty is worth going after, that the 50 dollar gift certificate for the angc website is something you can not live without, read the terms and conditions carefully as the bounty can only be claimed by a white American male dressed appropriately, no shoes, no shirt, no bounty.
So good luck everyone on the final time a course by Craig will be used on tgctours( subject to change, should Craig survive and publishes a new course it will be used and his collection of courses are also worth using to but outside of that he is person non grata on the tours) and I want a full schedulers report on my desk within two hours of finishing your round.
