Started the promo event +7 thru 6. Yes you read that correctly. Battled back a bit for a +2 finish. Guess I’ll be staying here in CC-C with y’all. Yeah I'm -12 through 3 rounds

Since I can't find a Promo Event #1 thread (anyone?), I'll chime in here too.
+3 on the front, rallied to finish -3 for the round.
I enjoy the course for what it is, but why are we using such a fantasy style course for a promotion event? Seriously, no way this course could be built IRL. Just seems a bit severe...is that what TGCT was looking for?

For me it had to be 8 to 10. +2, +5, +3, -3 = +7 Hopefully the actual event goes better than that. Not too hopeful though, both of my practice rounds I shot over par.

Round 1 was haaaard. 5 Chirpies, 4 Humphreys. -1.
Might get a demo or two at this rate.

Oh man this course tore me up.
Bad first round spiraled into me playing all four in one sitting.
Seems it's the one bad round again that kills me.
Good luck guys, I was I'll prepared and did not play a full practice round before hand and that first round cost me.
-1 -7 -9 -8
-25
Looks like I'll be hanging around another week

What a dumb course for a “Major”. I played half a practice round and decided it was not worth my time.

Curious what makes it dumb? For me the wickest flaw are the small stones just next to some greens so when you slightly miss you can be thrown away some 30/50 yds... Dominique

OK - not dumb but certainly a fantasy course where I have played it a few times and it was unremarkable. I would think these special events would have something harder like Q-school courses. A real challenge that separates golfers. It's fine but just a normal course. OK for in-season but not a special event. But I rarely play the special events so my opinion is moot anyway :-) carry on. And yea - OUTLAW small stones! BTW - Pacific Spirit is really weird with yardages being WAY WAY off on some holes. 114 yards posted but 187 in reality on #7 there were 4 more like this. Of course it does not really hurt play but it was weird.

What a dumb course for a “Major”. I played half a practice round and decided it was not worth my time. Is an unusual course, I agree with you on this..and yes..is fantasy for sure, but at least it offers some interesting risk&reward hole and, after all, the challenge is always fair enough for the event...and is also various. And this kind of thing is good on a special event, but I understand what you mean. Obviously, then is also a matter of tastes, to decide if to like it or not. Personally I liked the course while I rangered it, so i am a bit sad about the idea to don't play it this week, but I want to focus myself only on my tour rounds, so.. About the yardage on Pacific, I have no idea about why it happens, but I remember already saw this thing happening on some other course, some day ago.

The yardage thing could be all over - I just never noticed it before. catcherman22 - seriously - I'm a little b*tch lately - getting an MRI in 4 hours with really painful knee issues so my bubbly personality is not showing through.

The yardages are determined by where the designer places the waypoints when designing the course. Some designers may move the waypoints around so when the flyover is viewed it looks more scenic.

ROFL the bold, but I wish you well in the MRI. Hope you do not have any major issue.
