Last week I played my one practice round and had a -3. Confidence was low. That was pretty much how I did every round last week for a demo mark.
Yesterday I played my practice round and hit -11. Hopefully this course is more to my liking. Confidence is high

Well. I played 31 rounds of real golf this year and I believe maybe 3 times I had winds in the 12-18 range. Here 3 of the last 5 rounds. Wind really makes playing not fun. Sigh. Less skill more luck involved. Disappointing -5 as Art says.. Onward

I don’t mind playing in high winds it’s firm conditions I hate especially firm and very firm greens.

I have no issue with firm conditions as long as the greens are OK with it. Greens that slant away can be a nightmare. Man those holes were hard to see in round one. Sun must have been weird. Of course when your round starts off with a EXTRA SLOW into the wind ...it’s never good. LOL

Soooooo . . . . . . . cutting the corner on #11 in the second round is a really REALLY bad idea! BAM TRIPLE!! Hard to come back after that one LOL

Round 3 started -5 thru 4 holes (Iggle then 3 Chirpies). Then grinding until cirps on 12, 14 & 15.
Missed make-able par saves on 16 and 17, but managed par on 18 (which had been giving me wedgies so far).
-6 for the round, -14 thru 54 holes.
Onward!
AND round 4 was a dud. Only Humphrey was the 9th, but only 3 Chirpies. Missed 3 or 4 I shoulda made, otherwise just never got close.
-16, will surely get me my first red...will it?
Onward.

Took a week off of this game, not really intentionally... work just got crazy. I needed the break though, I was getting frustrated at the game and with myself.
Anyway, found time tonight for rounds 1 and 2. Bogey-free -6 in round 1. Missed 3 or 4 birdies on the edge but did chip one in as well. Then a -7 in round 2. But even par on the four par-5’s overall in round 2. So the -7 had room for improvement.
All in all, sitting at -13 thru 2. It’s not going to put me near the top of the leaderboard, but if it continues should be plenty to remove a red mark. Baby steps.

Managed to jump up from CC-D in the special event, back to where I started back on TGC1 many moons ago I really like the course, the firm greens of round 1 seemed fair enough for my liking and some nice contours to use to get some birdie opportunities. Round 1 - Managed a birdie free round for a solid -7 (65). Nothing spectacular but solid. Generally a slow starter as it's rare I've been on the course before. Round 2 was much better on the front 9 going -5, but the first bogie of the comp arrived on hole 10. Five further birdies made a good recovery to score a -9 (63). I just finished round 3, the softer greens were much appreciated and I took full advantage to shoot a bogie free -13 (59). Got a bit lucky in places with two chip-in's and sunk a few long putts. Missed a couple of good chances too so just about balanced itself out. Round 4 to play after work sometime later.

But still enjoy your stay.

Doh, made a hash of the last round. Started well enough with -3 from 6 but then my GIR dropped and started misjudging wind speed. 4 bogies killed the round and finished with a -2(70).
-31 total so pleased overall.

I feel you dude. I'm going through a mental slump as well. -21 last week. Started -2 after one this week and + 3 through 4 holes in round two. I had to tell myself to stop thinking and just play golf. I ended up rallying for a -10 in round two and then carried over for a -11 in round 3.
