Well..good new season to all you guys, officially!! I'm checking the course, today, cause I need to be sure that it not suffers for the usual stupid bug that affects some course I play on my PC, I miss only the pin 4..if is ok, then I should play the first tournament of the season..and I really hope so. I'll discover it tonight The course itself is (for me, I mean) one of those courses that at a first look seems to be nothing special but, after every hole and every round I like it always a bit more. Probably I'll love it, at the end of the tournament The only thing i already noticed, after 3 sets of pins checked, is that a certain number of pin positions are REALLY near the start of the green. Is not a problem by default, but honestly I'm a bit curious to see the conditions on the other rounds, cause if greens will be always firm or very firm, especially if the wind will blows seriously (and something tells me it will, at some point) and considering that some pin is exactly a bunch of feet after bunkers or false front, with really little room to place a ball properly it could be interesting (yeah..i'm not a huge fan of very firm greens on links...) But the course seems to be really interesting and fair. A good variety of distances, is one of those courses in which actually you really could use every club in your bag. Furthermore, the two long par 3s are at distances that could suggest a change of strategy in my club selection..but with two (maybe three, depending tee shot, wind speed and a bit of luck) par 5s reachable in two shots, would be hard to leave at home my 2w. My feeling is that it will be an interesting tournament. I really hope to join the party! And, as always..have fun and good luck to all of you!

Hi guys and good luck to all for the new season! The first course this year is not quite my taste. It simply doesn't suit my game at all. The problem is that you have to think, and I don't want to do that after a long day at work. Thus, I am not into course management and therefore land on the wrong side of the slope on every single one of those giant greens. This resulted in way too many putts to be able to attack even the top 50. After 4 sub-average rounds, I'm sitting at a mere -5, -5, -4, -6 = -20. I'm glad it's over and I hope for a course that pleases me more next week.

Good luck to everyone for the new season!
I like this course. Links courses are always my favourite, as long as I avoid the run-off areas around the green. I’ve done that alright so far this week, sitting at -17 after 2 rounds.

Hi guys and good luck to all for the new season! The first course this year is not quite my taste [which is perfectly fine as I'm far from expecting the schedulers to adapt their course selection to my taste. Moreover, there is a big difference between "not quite my taste" and "hate"]. It simply doesn't suit my game at all [and I am well aware of the fact that I would have to work on my game if I wanted this to change because it is certainly not a poorly designed course]. [This smiley was meant to underline that I was in a good mood writing my post, and that everything around that smiley should be read accordingly] The problem is that you have to think [If a course succeeds in forcing the player to develop the right strategy for every hole, then the designer did a good job. So this is actually a compliment.], and I don't want to do that after a long day at work [This part can easily be interpreted as if I intended to accuse the designer for creating a demanding course. Sorry for not hitting the right tone here. Again, I am well aware that it is my problem if I don't want to use my brain while playing this game.]. Thus, I am not into course management [I'm not even into practicing before an event] and therefore land on the wrong side of the slope on every single one of those giant greens [which is due to my lack of talent and preparation, not due to a bad course design]. This resulted in way too many putts to be able to attack even the top 50. After 4 sub-average rounds, I'm sitting at a mere -5, -5, -4, -6 = -20. I'm glad it's over and I hope for a course that pleases me more next week [This should also be read as "ok, not my course, that's fine, maybe next week", not as an aggressive request to adapt the course selection to my gusto].
[My approach when writing in this forum has always been that I don't criticize course design, because I think that I am not in a position of criticizing the hard work that designers put into their courses, even more so because I myself have no idea what are the characteristics of a well-designed course. What I think should be ok, however, is to indicate that a course is not my taste, as this has nothing to do with the qualities of a course. In that sense, I am slightly disappointed that my post led reebdoog to such a provocative response. I will consider writing much shorter posts again in the future (or none at all) as I don't want to offend anybody in here.]
[Edit: I just had a look at the course description, and there it says "If you speed through on “auto-pilot” you may find yourself frustratingly racking up pars". Even though I would, for my case, omit the word "frustratingly", I am happy (no irony) to read that the designer even intended to design the course in a way that players like me were "punished". Thus, my reaction should even be a bigger acclaim for the designer.]

You didn’t offend anyone and I didn’t say anything provocative. Sheesh. I just said I’ll take more courses you hate. I mean...if you don’t wanna have to think I’ll say I do. Chill man

13 under through 36.......
Gotta scout those greens, account for the settings & pray your tempo isn't about to give you the finger.....
I had to do a decent amount of lag putting & at the halfway stage just looking to ward off a pesky demotion mark to kick off the season.
St. Cyrus is very authentic with some painstakingly crafted unique walls & buildings to admire.
The firm greens are a challenge but as the leaderboards prove - not unfair or unrealistic.

Chill man I guess that's what happens when non-native English causes interpretation difficulties. Thank you for your additional clarification. I totally misinterpreted your post. We can move on now, lol.

Chill man I guess that's what happens when non-native English causes interpretation difficulties. Thank you for your additional clarification. I totally misinterpreted your post. We can move on now, lol. I have often the same problem. After all, learning English from music and Movies (as in my case) is not exactly the same than learning it at School..so it happens, to have misunderstandings with someone, sometimes. No counting that, above the language used, is not always easy to understand the "tone" of some quote, when you can't see the face or ear the voice of who talks with you. The good thing is that here the guys are generally great. So, even when sh!t happens, is easy to solve any problem. Anyway..surely we'll have courses of every kind. But your problem is that, above the course used, this game actually REQUIRES to think a lot. Always. And I understand easily that after a long day at work, it can be not the best way to have some relax It requires a certain amount of sadomasochism. I have it. 👀 Yippiiee 👀

I hope to be playing my rounds from St. Cyrus today around 4pm on Twitch for all to see (laugh at). Hopefully I can keep up with the top half of the field each week as I gain some in-tour rivalries with the likes of reebdoog and cephyn. Season 6 is here!

Opened up the season last night with a really disappointing 65-66. I think I missed 5 putts inside 10' on that first round, and at least 3 in the second. My putting continues to plague me. I just can't seem to make the final adjustment to sink all the putts I'm missing by a hair. Second round was definitely trickier than the first, I somehow ended up out of position on the approaches more often than I'd like. A lot of unfortunate bounces mixed with poor planning and I guess that's the inevitable result. Hopefully I can make a move up the leaderboard in rounds 2 or 3 and get out of the T60 to T90 slump I'm (apparently) still in!

Really looking forward to Season 6. Good luck to everyone. P.S. Ezzino, I'm going to be watching for your scores, my friend! I know it! But honestly, I still don't know if I can actually play this week. I'm waiting for my little bro, that will eat at my home tonight. With this excuse he will keeps with him his ps4, cause i need to check better the course as it plays exactly. Cause in my pc it seems to be everything perfect but two greens (hole 7 or 8, I don't remember exactly right now, and hole 10). Both of them have just some kind of creek on one side. It affects a relatively little portion of them, but with a pair of pin positions, if I miss the approach on the wrong side, I risk seriously some +7. With one of these pins, in particular, the available landing zone is big actually more or less 6 squares. Is really improbable to score a birdie, but I think is still possible to save a par..i must simply avoid the creek But is not this that worries me, or the reason why I'm still doubtful. I want to check the course just to verify if actually the rest of the course is really flawless how it seems. Everytime I suffer this issue, my biggest fear is that if on some hole things can be messed up, who knows, maybe on some other hole are easier? So I want to verify this. If I'll be sure the issue affects just those two holes, I'll evaluate if is the case to risk or not...but if I should see that on some hole this issue could create to me some advantage on how actually the course should play, I'll simply quit. Honestly it would be really sad to quit this tournament..is the first, I'm waiting to play it by..days.. But at the same time i don't want to play if there's the chance that this issue could ever be an advantage for me. Probably, if I should see that the rest of the course is actually flawless, I'll share the video of my round (someone can explains to me if is better and/or easier to share a video on YouTube or twich? Cause I never used twich, til now). Maybe all this worries could seems a bit too much, but I think that transparency is the simplest way to avoid issues of..any kind. After all the debates about fairness, I think is the correct thing to do. And it would be also totally senseless to play a course different from what other players uses..so if someone think that in any case it should be better that I quit, for this week, I'll do it. Otherwise, if really the difference is only about those two greens and I can verify to have not advantages on some hole and all you have nothing against the idea, I'll play it "at my own risk"
