I think it's becoming apparent that this might be the first golf game ever, where trying to hit it straight is actually not a great idea, as you're easily able to miss both ways, especially when lofting, unless you short swing. Might be time to try something new Are you saying oh wise elder statesman fadgewacker, that purposefully swinging crooked producing accurate and predictable results ala flickers, is acceptable in your eyes? Nope, you’re missing the point spectacularly. I’ll explain in a little more detail later.

Here you go. Nothing to hide here. Round 1 - almost managed to squeeze all 18 in, was a bit rush so not my best. Appreciate you making this post. Watched 11 holes. Some full lines, but no doubt you benefited greatly from shorties on holes 6-10. Probably shaved 1.5 to 2 strokes. Call me a $&@*^% that’s fine maybe I deserve it, but it’s just my opinion, and just me being cynical. My question would be that it seems you can make a full swing with some consistency. If you want to separate yourself from those that don’t play “properly,” why not just use the full swing exclusively? Because so many swings are short, it’s so easy to cynically scoff when you have a really good round or tournament. I don't have any control over which ones are short and which ones aren't. That's what I've been saying for I don't know how long. I play the game like I play the game. This is what it looks like. Does it give me super consistent results? No. Am I peppering the flag with every approach? No? Am in the top 10 week in week out like some? No. I play the game on feel, which is why I take 20 mins a round, not an hour. I understand why people get annoyed by the flickers, and I can assure you that I hit the plastic on the controller on 95% of my swings. I can't/don't have any control on what that looks like on the swing feedback or the resulting shot. Finally, due to the level of bad feeling towards me, I can't say that I'm bothered whether people like how I play the game. I'm never going to win a popularity contest round here, I've accepted I'm not in the cool kids club. I play the game for my own enjoyment and a bit of fun competition. I'd love to be more involved with part of the community but due to the "them and us" mentality of the "non flickers" and the way that I've been dumped into the opposing category just because of a few good results makes me wants to play without socialising. If this post melts the frostiness towards me then great, happy to be involved.

These are very different things. Crooked but consistent is like Jim Furyk, a terrible swing but he knows what it will do. Or a guy with a perma-draw, who plays for that draw by aiming accordingly. Flicking is like if a guy dropped his club halfway down the downswing, but the ball pretended it never happened and assumed it was a perfect downswing. I've taken the liberty of writing your response to this "Ok boomer. Look at you taking words on a video game golf forum so seriously. Who writes on video game golf forums anyway? Boomers I guess. And I know flicking is terrible, I HATE IT when Rawesy does it. Which is why I do it. Because it's so bad, but also good, so that I can compete with Rawesy, who does it, and it's bad that he does it. Also, I was joking with my post, I guess. "

I know it's before the cut. I don't care.
I still have a sour taste in me mouth.
The game does its best to troll me.
My math is either really good or a yard or 2 off.
Putts are really good or just off.
That's what is keeping me from beating Team Flick.
However, here's my -16 R1.
Maybe you can learn something.
Maybe not.
I can assure you that there are ZERO short swings in this.
Edit: Hole 1 was a max-loft driver.
Twice.
A LW flop that was 3/4 faded.
It hit the stick and rolled away.
I made a 15-20 footer for birdie.

Generic_Casual I just watched most of your CIMB round (nicely done, cruel miss for albatross on 5). I don't know how common it is but you're the first player I've seen that consistently plays a pull like I do, except for putts, I've never (intentionally) played a pull on putts. It seems like everyone has played the first two rounds so here's my 2nd...solid -7 through 6 start, cooled off a little at the end of the back nine with some sloppy approaches. ***Edit: Here’s my fourth round as well. Started a little slow, -6 thru 10, then birdied out to shoot -14.

Every fully lofted shot should be played as a push or pull. Aiming at your spot and trying to hit a straight line is the sucker play, even for people who make very straight lines. The amount of dispersion between a tiny push to like 12:05 and a push to 12:45 or 1:00 when fully lofted is not much compared to the dispersion between a perfect 12:00 and a 12:05, there's actually a reasonable margin for error if you know you can get the distance control you want and are willing to accept 12 feet to either side of the flag.
I think everyone at pro tour levels should be able to consistently hit a swing that goes a little right at the top so you know it won't miss left or vice versa.

Not a video of mine (since I don't have any software to produce one) - and also not actually from a tour event - but see below three holes of swing lines just now (played at this new weeks Special Events course, The Loops):
Hole 1 (top line): Driver (no lofting), 6i (2 clicks of loft), chip (no loft), 6ft putt Hole 2 (middle): 7i (2 clicks of deloft), chip (no loft) - didn't bother with showing the 3 inch tap in! Hole 3: (bottom): Driver (no loft), 8i (some deloft, a fair bit of fade and a big L-R semi rough lie), 4ft putt
No wonder I'm shiiiittttt!!

Posting this since I happened to grab the win last week. This is the front 9 of my round 3, which went about as smoothly as possible. I've generally lived in the 20-40 range on the leaderboard this season, with my best finish being a T11 the week before last, so I'm obviously really excited about this result! It requires a virtually mistake-free 72 holes, but it turns out it is possible to play fairly and win on the PGA tour.

Thanks for posting! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. I’m still having issues uploading for some reason they fail at about 95% complete. Maybe I need to defrag the hard drive.
