FYI, once I finish my current LiDAR project, The Ohio State University Golf Club (Scarlet) is my next LiDAR project. I’m looking to get started relatively soon, as I have a bunch of info fresh in my mind from when I went to the tournament a couple weeks ago!

Anyway..just to talk a bit and to share my thought about this debate, (cause I already explained that I think is better and fair enough to be a bit less "obsessed" about accuracy, in this list).. Well, about the question if a course can be 100% accurate or not, or if a satellite map can be 100% accurate or not, after have checked til now more or less almost 250 real courses, i can say only this : I don't know if is possible to have 100% accurate satellite maps, but I'm now absolutely sure that to have RCRs 100% accurate with what is reported on a satellite maps (talking about dimension and shape of fairways, greens, bunkers, water hazards, cartpaths...and yes, even about the position and the number of the planted trees, if the designer is enough obsessed about accuracy ) yes, is definitely and absolutely possible. And I'm so sure of this simply cause, if some of you want to verify what i say, I can easily tell you the name of at least a dozen of RCRs that, checking them from the map, and confronting what I can see on it with the satellite map, what i see are actually almost 2 pics. And obviously I'm not talking about lidar courses..but about good old RCRs. And, just to be still more precise about this thing of checking courses, exactly cause i noticed from the start that a course can easily change during the time, i don't ever use a single map to check a course. I try always to use at least 3 maps (provisualizer, bluegolf, gooogle maps and, if i have doubts, swingbyswing too, flyivers and everything i can try about a course, but normally there is no need to check more than three maps) and before to start the checking of a course i search everything i can about the history of a course, searching for renovation works in recent years, mainly. All this just to say that..i absolutely understand that to be totally accurate creating a course is really, really hard..but to say that is impossible is simply untrue. And it sounds also a bit disrespectful for all those guys that actually do it, in some way.

But in all this, i forget to say that, if some of you designers say to me what is your account in google, I can add you on as editors of the list and you can modify it even without me. If you prefer it, for example, just write a comment anywhere you want in the list so I'll see your name on google and I'll simply add you. After all, this thing is made for designers, not for me. The only thing I ask to anyone is to be careful, it would be sad to ruin a thing that could be useful for someone. But above this..i couldn't find any reason to keep this thing as a private thing.

I will happily make Sherwood CC in California when the LiDar information becomes available for that area. I live about 10 minutes away from the course and went to the tournament when it used to be there.

My 2 cents. I LOVE cathlos' courses, I think was ezzino was fair minded in what he was trying to do.
Was interesting reading cathalos' and others thoughts and realising how hard it is to be "truly" accurate.
I've chatted quite a lot with ezzino, and i know this list is still a WIP. It's VERY useful, for designers, and schedulers (like me!)

It's a shame that there isn't lidar data available for the dubsdread. Again one of my all time favourites.

Was interesting reading cathalos' and others thoughts and realising how hard it is to be "truly" accurate. I've chatted quite a lot with ezzino, and i know this list is still a WIP. It's VERY useful, for designers, and schedulers (like me!) As I said weeks ago..i started just in these days to check again all the catahlos courses..sorry to do this thing so late..but I wanted to correct my error not using my memories of my first check, but checking those courses again, with different eyes and clean mind. Furthermore, the courses to correct were a certain number, not just those made by cat. So I did it (and still I'm doing it). Sadly I had lot of courses to check already planned and, also for the not so much time I had, I started to do this thing only two days ago. So i checked again all his courses and now Druids Glen and Killeen Castle are listed as Real Courses as they should do from the start, cause the differences are actually really minimal. The others still have some too noticeable difference (this time I also listed what these differences are, so if someone if curious to know it in detail, I can give this kind of information..just to offer some transparency, in some way. I think is something correct to do, even cause who knows..maybe I can find only satellite maps that don't show the most recent changes..it would be useful to know if am I to be wrong). I miss to check again only..uff..i don't remember the name anymore, but is the course in UAE..and Crans-Sur-Sierre. In any case, if we talk just about atmosphere, planting and details..the catahlos courses are among the best courses I ever played. Easily. And is also (but not only) for this reason I also decided to create a fourth category, to separate/highlight the real or real lookalike courses clearly full of autogen stuff from the ones well cured, cause is correct to list also these courses (if someone not so interested in quality want to play it, is fair that they are findable in a list), but not that they are listed in the same way of those courses maybe not too accurate, but spot on every other important part. I need just time..but slowly i'll fix everything. Sorry for the problems.

Is already added and played. I played it a pair of days after the release Is also listed as real cause there is some fairway too tight and some other minimal difference with the real course, but is nothing really noticeable and also the course is fantastic to play (I played it in very high wind and firm/fast conditions and scored a -8, greens are simply beautiful..and the atmosphere..well, you know it). I don't remember anymore if I deleted also Royal County Down from this list (i'll check it when i'll come back to my home tomorrow or Friday, cause on this stupid phone, for some reason, I can' t open the lists) but i added your next projects. Good week of golf to everybody, anyway

Hi, first time poster.
I'm putting a big real life course database together of courses that are ranked in magazines, have hosted pro tournaments/qualifiers, etc... Hope to be done by the end of the month, looking like 1500-2000 courses will be included. Also putting whether there is a TGC approved 2k21 version or a decent looking 2k21 version.
I may share here just so people can maybe browse as a guide for which RCR's to tackle. It's turning into a bit of a beast.
