OK for the love of golf let it go, this was a great Event with a lot of people doing a hell of a lot of work behind the scenes can we all just let the guys that won (not me I'm happy to answer question in a PM) but the guys on my team who made all the hard yards on the course have their 15min in the sun. Well said Mike and congratulations to you and your team for the win.... I have no hard feelings about being picked as the replacement, in Mike's shoes I would have done exactly the same thing. He shot a round of -14 which motivated his team to come back and eventually win, an amazing Captain's performance.....Not taking anything away from my own Captain, Darryl you were an inspiring team leader, it was a pleasure playing for you. Commiserations to the rest of my team mates....so so close. I didn't exactly play my best for most of the week, a few more putts dropping might have made the difference. But I will always have the 58 I shot in Round 4 (my best round ever) and I've also made some new friends from both teams along the way, surely the most important thing to take away from the past couple of weeks. Great job by Mayo and the TGC Tours team for organising and running this event, the most fun i've had since joining TGC Tours. Hopefully we will get a full rosta of players for a bigger and better competition next year..... Good luck everyone in Season 2 of the BCT, I hope you all have some amazing results.

I wasn’t going to weigh-in on this because it was a great event and an epic finish. I believe even if the captains had chosen me, the -50 guy, we would’ve lost because I totally laid an egg in singles, so the outcome would be the same. I’m really sorry I played so poorly.
The thing about being a team captain is that it’s a leadership position, and leaders of any group or organization are entrusted with the responsibility of making wise decisions that benefit the group. They don’t often discuss their options with said group before making a decision. Can you imagine if the President and CEO of my multi-million dollar sales company discussed sales quotas and commission structures with the 96 sales executives before making a decision each year? It would be a nightmare of opinions. My point is, leaders make decisions and the rest follow, because hopefully the leaders have the group’s best interest in mind. With Curtis and Mike, I have no concerns that they did what they thought was fair, and so as a team member, I follow my captain into battle win, lose, or draw.
As part of the “insider” group (I think 🤷🏻♂️), I can totally understand your feelings on that, but as described above, it’s not a closed group. There’s no membership or entry requirements, and I don’t even know who all qualifies as an “insider.” One of my favorite things about this community is how quickly we can be buddy/buddy with each other, but it’s pretty organic. It seems to happen naturally through familiarity with one another as we interact on the forums and on streams. Speaking solely for myself, I hope that I treat everyone who comes to my streams the same, welcoming them to the community. Certainly I know some people better IRL or I’ve been online friends with some longer, but everyone is welcomed on my streams. Please call me out if that’s ever not the case. As that relates to Curtis, Mike, and Jeremy, I consider them all to be high-class, ethical people, and I don’t believe any of their decisions in this event were made with selfish intent whatsoever due to being buddies. Mike is a bit more new to the game, but over the past couple years I can’t even begin to estimate the amount of extra curricular hours that Curtis and Jeremy have put in for the community’s benefit, which is why they were chosen as leaders of the inaugural BCT Cup, which they ran with dignity.
Differing opinions on how things should go are okay. Nobody is whining, nobody is b!€#ing, there are just different ideas of how the decision could’ve been made. It’s often easier to ask those questions with the benefit of hindsight. But the decisions were made, the players shot what they shot, and Team Georgiades earned the victory. There’s no asterisk by that win, they deserve to celebrate.
Cheers guys! 🍻

First of all, congrats to Team Katana for a thrilling victory! You guys were looking a loss straight in the face and rallied to get it done in stunning fashion. Hats off to you guys!! Both teams had a ton of talent but TeamDarryl just couldn't close the door. It was a ton of fun playing in this event this week. Thanks to all who competed and played!
To address the previous discussion...let me start with this. I had fun being a captain and working side by side with Mike and Jeremy. I feel that we worked seamlessly through multiple issues with the integrity of the event as the top priority. Yes, there are decisions made behind closed doors. Some decisions aren't made behind closed doors like when I posted my tentative pairings to the group looking for suggestions. Some gave their opinions, others didn't. Either way is fine. The other issues we dealt with (people not playing/quitting) were between Jeremy, Mike and I and wouldn't go back and change that. I can assure you, we have 13 pages of messages between us discussing the details of this whole BCT Cup so rest assured, we did our best to run the best event possible. As far as match 19. Shane didn't have an "emergency" come up. He said it himself, he already had things planned for Friday and Saturday, we just didn't know that until the day before singles started. This to me was different then the other issues. Daniel Waring deleted his account Sunday, so we had plenty of time to replace him. Mike Moore ghosted the whole thing. We never knew if he was going to play or not, so we made arrangements to replace him as well. I'm not beating Shane up here, but he honestly should have given us more notice then 1 day. By that time, Mike and I had already finalized our singles matches. I thought the most fair thing to do was to take a DQ. Mike talked me out of this. We decided on Mike being able to choose an available player to slide into that spot. Did the whole cup hinge on that match, probably not. It is what it is but I'm not going to let that overshadow a great event this week. I hope that helps Tott. I'm not mad at you nor am I calling you out, that's just some of what happened behind the scenes.
My thanks again to all involved and congrats to Team Katana for a squeaker win! Was a blast competing against you guys! Good luck this season! Speaking of season 6, Darryl is going to try his hand at Q-school with master clubs. I very well may find myself back in BCT, but for now that's my plan. I'll be keeping track of the BCT progress though. Cheers folks, thanks again!! Your Friend,
Darryl

Great responses by katana22 grey3eard tomset & VctryLnSprts . At the end of the day, we had to make some quick decisions regarding some unexpected circumstances. I wish things would have gone smoother in that regard, but it was the hand that we were dealt and we played it to the best of our ability. In the end, it's a lot like the game of golf, taking what you've been handed (sometimes, because of an unlucky break) and trying to make the best of it. Inevitably some those decisions aren't going to make everyone happy -- as I'm sure there would have also been unhappy people if they had taken time to play a match that didn't count or was a forfeit because the opponent from the other side was absent. There were definitely guys I wasn't "buddy-buddy" with prior to these matches -- Mike, Mark H. & troywatts in particular -- who I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know a little better playing with or against this past week. That was the whole point, not to just have a few "buddies" play golf, but to try to include the BCT community as a whole. We don't get an official WGR (thanks jacobkessler for creating one for us), aren't able to try to qualify for majors. We're kind of the outliers of the greater TGCT structure. I was hoping some of that would change for season 6, but it didn't happen and that's fine. The admins have a ton on their plate and had an extremely short turnaround for season 6. But the point being, is we, as BCT members must take it upon ourselves to create an environment where there's good camaraderie and healthy competition. If this event did that for the majority of participants, then it was a success. With that out of the way, on to what I really wanted to write about this event last night: Congratulations to Mike Georgiades and his squad for a thrilling comeback. Team Montgomery put up a fight, but in the end it was a thrilling round of singles and made for a memorable finish to the inaugural BCT Cup. Well played. It took the help and efforts of many individuals to make this event happen. I would like to take a moment to recognize them: To the captains, Mike and Darryl ( toddfather ), wonderful work in this competition. We were faced with some unusual circumstances, and you both handled them with class, dignity and reason -- putting the betterment of the event ahead of personal gain. I commend you both. Without your support and understanding this event would not have been nearly as successful as it was. A big thank you to Doyley for letting us borrow the Special Events society this past week, for collecting API data for us to use and for personally walking me through some behind the scenes stuff in terms of event setup and how to run the Google Sheet for this event. He, and the TGCT admin, went out of their way to help support this event and added a layer of importance and legitimacy that this event could not have achieved without their help. To grovey31 , the architect of The Kingdom, excellent course, brother. The course did exactly what I hoped. There were low scores to be had, but trouble as well. It was fun, fair test of golf that made for a wonderful match play venue. Also, thanks for creating a special tee set exclusively for this event, which I feel was tailored well to the BCT game. You did this with not a lot of lead time, but the end result was well worth it. The overwhelming majority of comments regarding the course this week were positive, and I believe that's a testament to your skill in the designer. To everyone that played, thank you. I hope you had a fun and enjoyable experience. Ultimately, this event would not have gotten off the ground without the support of BCT players like yourselves. Some of you are heading back to the regular tours in season 6. Good luck and may we see your names at the top of the leaderboards. Some of you are sticking around for Season 6, which I can only hope is as fun as the conclusion of season 5. We had some new names enter the mix toward the end of the season, which should make for some fun, exciting tournaments going forward. Good luck as we tee it up in the first event of the season this week. Thanks everyone for a wonderful event, and we'll see you out on the tour! ~ Jeremy

Wait a minute....is Curtis the same as Darryl the same as ToddFather? That's too confusing....
Why are all you guys going to the tempo leagues? You will be coming home to BCT pretty soon....first very fast swing into the water that took me out of a top 10...that was enough for me.
I'll say it again, great event all around. I felt like Team Montgomery had the top 2 players on BCT and they showed up big in the team rounds. But their whole line-up played really well the first week and I honestly thought that was too much of a lead to come back from. Made it real exciting as it got closer and closer though. We could play this thing 100 times and probably come out 50:50.
Sorry this seemed to be ending on a bit of a sour note. I was in the stream when the commentary started, so I thought there might be some posts coming.
On to Season 6!

so im getting blame for something i had planned? ok... Nah, I don't think that's the case. I think they were hoping for more notice than a day. You signed up for something knowing you wouldn't be able to participate fully. We had the same situation on our team, but that guy let us know a week ahead of time, so there wasn't a last minute situation to adjust.
