Going forward I'm going to continue to use the same thread for all my ongoing projects. Rather than setting up new threads each time for a new project, I'll just keep them all together and easier to find

Reusing this thread for all my WIP's going forward So after wrapping up my FCC Design Contest Course last week, I'm heading back to RCR's for a little bit and doing something I haven't done yet - A course from across the pond in the USA, it's going to be a desert course and I'm also doing an RCR Design Series, which is essentially going through the process of how I build my RCR's. The course I've started building is The Golf Club at Dove Mountain, Arizona, a former home of the WGC Accenture World Matchplay. The course has 3 different 9's: Wild Burro, Tortolita and Saguaro. Mine will be following the Saguaro & Tortolita 9's as the WGC did. I've already began working on the course with the first hole measured out and the second hole not far behind. No images to share right now as you'd just be staring at a desert with measuring markers. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

Definitely caught the fictional course design bug, 3-4 holes deep into a new project. Have a full 18 pretty much planned out so just putting all the work in hole by hole and will make adjustments. Not my usual process at all, but just rolling with it for now. This one is simply inspired by my love for golf. Played a lot of municipal style courses as a kid growing up, teeing off earlier than 8am to get ahead of the senior members. So it's solely based on that, a simplistic but tight parkland course, set at 8am tee time on a beautiful sunny morning.

After Cill Mhuire Na nGall finished second in the FCC Course Design Competition, hoping to go one better with the Euro Design Contest having drawn Croatia as my country for inspiration. I visited Dubrovnik in September last year so drawing on my 5 days of gallavanting along the Croatian coastline. Here's an image of the 1st hole so far.

Using the Steppe theme for this project, but it has it's limits in that nearly every tree looks the same. During my stay in Croatia I fell in love with these Cypress Trees, that can Also be seen in the background of a lot of Game of Thrones scenes. The game doesn't have them, so I had to use a workaround to create them by stacking bushes on top of each other and reducing the size as I go up.

2nd hole is taking shape, still have to do some sculpting around the greens etc but the idea for the hole is there.

Great job with those cypress trees! Very simple but don't think I've seen it before. I wish HB could update the designer with some new trees/bushes, backgrounds, textures, ect. If Shadow Creek can plant vegetation that looks like the course is set in the eastern states instead of the desert, so should we!

Absolutely, like I'm working in the steppe theme at the moment and it's literally the same trees over and over again. What would be great is if you had a library of trees you could choose from to have in your course. Like if you could fill 2 pages of the trees and bushes that you wanted rather than work off the generic theme choice. It would make it so much better to capture the course you want.
