Collecting some info for my next project which is going to be a fantasy course based in my local area. I'm from a small country village (if you could even call it that) in East Co.Clare, Ireland. It's so small that we only have a pub, a church and a primary school (ages 5-12). Also my next door neighbours are cows 🐂🐂 My plan at first is going to be to try and recreate the natural landscape of the area and from there aim to build a resort worthy golf course. My thoughts, due to the area, are to recreate a countryside type links course. There minimal trees with a lot of hill so it'll make for an interesting design. Here are some of the images I've gathered so far from Kilmurry

Getting to work on building the area of which I'm going to build my course. It's an intriguing landscape for a golf course so I'm pretty interested to see how it all turns out.

Had an idea for a par 4 so decided to put in a little work on it and this is what I came up with. It's potentially going to be midway through my front 9 based on my current idea of how I want the course to flow. This is a dogleg left par 4 that's going to play somewhere between 470 & 480 yards. The tee shot is going to play over two pot bunkers that guard both sides of the fairway. From there you're approach is a tough one, out of bounds surrounds the green so you have to be precise especially with a deep green side bunker short left. The inspiration for this hole is the field out the back of my house, sticking as closely as possible to the hometown criteria. So if you hit your ball into my garden right of the green, you're not getting it back 🤣🤣

Getting some sculpting work done on the front 9. Not going to share too many photos going forward like I usually do but starting to come along nicely, having fun with this inland links concept in the Countryside theme

This all looks great. What would work really well, I think, and goes with your theme, is something I wanted to do on one of my courses, but I'm too rubbish at the designer- sections of the course go through densely wooded areas, like 3-4 holes, where you can only see that hole, and then after that section, it comes out into your view of the town, or a more open countryside area on the back 9 away from the town, or even with a view to the sea or a lake in the distance on one part. Maybe have 2 of those densely wooded sections on the course. Anyway, sounds like you have a vision already, and my idea may not fit, or you may not like it! But just throwing it out there This looks great already 👍

This is just mapping and sculpting for now

LOVE those dunes. Damn, this is inspirational stuff. Just wanted to create something like an amphitheatre around the green that'd look pretty cool for tournament play
