How about I stop flogging away when you stop flicking away. Deal? Jog on mate ive already started to sort out my game who the @!$# do you think you are to tell people how to play a game they bought. I’ve just realised I’m a flicker but your a serial poster, you stop posting and I will stop flicking. Deal? As a matter of interest what platform do you play on I’m Xbox who are at a disadvantage anyway. Issues

See how things are turning? We are picking fights in a game community. This is an HB issue. Please, please take it to their forums. They need to hear it. We are all here for the same reason, the most legitimate competition available in any game. Help us protect it!

Rather than outlawing or ostracizing people that flick (but pass API) I wish the game could just recognize forward swing only went 75% (for example) to the top of the range so apply 75% distance. If there were a reasonable distance penalty for short swings then those that wanted to could short swing until their heart is content but suffer short distance issues. Kind of like real golf. Swing nice and easy you likely get more accuracy but less distance. Swing like a caveman and have long drives that are much less accurate. But a short swing should still have the ability to go off-line??
Not sure what point you're making here. If HB change something, why not change a short swing automatically going straight?

I didn't see anybody singled out in here. In fact the person who admitted flicking ALSO said PS4 have it so easy!
PS4 users have LONG admitted they have an advantage. (as i've said, i'm NOT a fan as to how i view that to have been exaggerated though.) So why the f**k is it not being accepted by some that a swing that can not produce a bad swing should be seen as exploiting the game?? Jeez.
This thread was not about calling people out, as nobody was called out. If people wanted to come in and say "i'm a flicker, deal with it," then obviously there will be some come back on that, but overall the thread is a general debate about a game exploit being punished...

In my opinion, if your shot feedback line does not go to the top, your shot should look like this... not a pure stripe down the middle. It doesn't seem like it would be too difficult of a task for HB to correct it. Even a small percentage of players using an exploit is too many, fair gameplay should be a priority PERIOD! There's got to be someone intelligent there that realizes this... right? I think it's a good idea, but I have concerns. There have been times where I've physically completed a full swing (thumbstick reaches the plastic) and the line registered is short. Putting the concept of online competition aside since we're the severe minority of players, players would absolutely hate that if they ended up coming up short when crossing a hazard because the line was short. If I were HB, I wouldn't make that change unless I was absolutely sure the length of the line accurately represented the length of the swing for all types of input devices. If HB were to get that wrong, the game would basically be broken, and that's worse than what we have now (which is not good for competition).

Absolutely this - the result is a betrayal of the direction at the moment... I do think it should be no dice for <80% swing length though.

So... Here's my post to HB on the matter, attempting to make them see the broken element of the swing.www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,29271.30.html - Page 3 --- Ok, so I played my 3rd round (I was CUT after 2 ) on the TGCT PGA this last week. HB Admin, please let me know if you need more info to find my ghost values. I played it at 2am, tired, and half drunk, purposefully trying to make a weird short swing that leaves the cone on the left, which, as EVERYONE knows, should go left. Here is the video - purely an example of the glitch in the swing. Now, I understand the way the swing works pretty well. There were a couple of shots there that the average accuracy deviation / yaw angle will have dictated a slight push... A couple, in the 18 holes. I also had a few where I got over enthusiastic with my flicky pull, and the ball went mile left - like it should if you complete your swing. Anyway, here is my shot chart from TGCT for the round. It displayed a bit weird in the forum, so here's a link: i.imgur.com/HkQouHV.pngIf anybody is unfamiliar with this type of graphic, what this shows, is all drives and approaches for the round, and how far they are off centre. The measurements that feed this are incredibly accurate, to 4 decimal places. The higher the bar, the more shots you hit in that exact segment. Dead Centre would be coloured Red. Left of that is a pull, right of that is a push. The chart shown has values of 0.09+ or 0.09-... anything beyond that is in the dark blue bars - to land on the chart, the swing needs to be reasonable. Just a couple of examples, from early in the vid, so that this is obvious: Tee shot on 1: Didn't get my flick, ball went miles left. That was in the LEFT blue bar. Got a fast too, which didn't help. Crucially, the accuracy value that the game registered was -0.122400977. Negative 0.122400977, so the ball went left. Fast forward to the approach into hole 2: Now this time I got the flick If I hadn't, if I had completed that swing, the result would have been as per hole 1 tee shot... The accuracy value that the game registered was 0.0410546549. Probably sits in the 9th populated bar (from L to R) Positive 0.0410546549. The ball betrays the swing line and goes almost dead straight, a slight PUSH, not a pull.... The short left swing goes slightly right. There are many, many other mind boggling examples in there, but for the mass audience, there are 2, early doors, that show what's being highlighted. I have all the shot data for the round, should @hb_ShaunW or @hb_CraigC wish me to share, publicly or privately. All in all, I tried to hit every ball short and left. I failed a few times and that shows in the data, yet every other shot, shows RIGHT of centre for accuracy values, when the swing was short and straight, or short and left. I'll make another video and support it with the same type of evidence this week, purposefully trying to hit short, but short and straight. Probably get DQ'd ;D This is not intended as an attack on the swing / design or anything else, purely, TGC enthusiasts trying to help the designers improve their product, and stop people blatantly taking advantage of a glitch which is being exposed, knowingly, at the competitive pinnacle of the game and well beyond.

A very medium flicking performance there fadgewacker And what that should show to the admins here and at HB is how easy it is for people to con the API - as I can't see that round failing the API with all those different bars being hit a couple of times each

I reckon I could, with a certain setup, be very very accurate indeed. I'll be looking for a few hallmarks that might be able to help identify those that play this way moving forward.

Just looking at the figures in front of me, I've noticed a truly bizarre thing:
I've always flicked my putts in TGC2019, it's how I came to try flicking a full shot before I got DQ'd in the 2nd comp of the year and afterwards realised how broke it was.
Now, I flicked or tried to flick every full shot LEFT, and they went RIGHT (to a degree) during this experiment to post to HB.
I flicked every putt, as I normally do... and every putt, bar one, registered a NEGATIVE value, so a slight pull LEFT.
How quite odd...

I played the first exhibition tournament in TGC2, at Sawgrass I think, and shot 18 under first round with three holes in one, I wasn't flicking I was using what proved to be an illegal controller, a Logitech F710.I made no secret of it, this tournament was to test the api.Clearly and obviously this gave me an unfair advantage, though unwittingly.I
I see the flickers as having that very same advantage, the ability to be able to calculate where to land, how far the run out will be, which slight slope on the green will then take the ball to the hole, safe in the knowledge their calculations will not be letdown by a poor swing.
What to do about these people? It's a tough one. They aren't using an illegal controller, they are apparently passing the api? Do they pass it every time? How many times can they fail it and continue to play?
I see no reason why I and many players on here could not beat the top 'f lickers 'given a level playing field. I know what it's like to be almost certain of hitting the drive and approach straight, and it's a good feeling, having one's calculations bear fruit because of it, but it's hardly sporting.

This “flicking” method makes zero sense. I’ve had the same swing since the original TGC and I’ve never heard of this “flicking” thing. I’ve read through a majority of this thread and still do not understand it. I’m not intentionally “flicking” as this is the way I have swung for years. Could this be because of a well used right analog messing with the data? Personally I think so. People try to compare these to mechanics to real life, if this would be so some of the longer hitters have “short swings” (John Rahm and Tony Finau).
