Wow what a nightmare it would be to tend those grounds, I’m not even sure what to say other than good god.

Interested in "public" opinion on this one before I dive any further into planting...
Yay or nay? I have the file backed up in-case I decided that I didn't like this change, but I really can't decide. Thoughts?

Just talking out loud to myself here a bit...but I'm honestly considering forgoing any major/extensive planting around here. Partially because it's pretty damn monotonous, a lot of "plant grass A, plant grass B, plant tree, rinse, repeat," but also because I'm not really sure if the time required to do so adds enough value to what the final product will be. I really want to get this finished, and I'm trying to be realistic about how going all-out with the planting is going to impact my desire to keep going with it.
That said, I think my strategy is going to be scattered planting - a few on each hole to give prettier sight-lines, etc. - but nothing crazy. This course, as with basically all my courses, is about playability, challenge, strategy, and skill (or it tries to be at least), and the part of designing I truly enjoy which has kept me at it for so long is creating new ways to design those aspects of a course - the actual course itself, the surfaces and slopes we play on.
Planting has never been an especially enjoyable part of design for me - though there have definitely been times when it felt creative and super fun, wasn't so much of just simply doing the same thing over and over - which is likely why it's by far my "weakest" design attribute. At the end of the day, though, I'd like to think that the course itself is the most important part, and hopefully the ridiculous amount of time I've spent doing this crazy looking sand stuff will be enough to entice those who play courses for their looks more than anything. I guess we shall see...
P.s. Oh, and I went back to the original plot look, the one without all of the water everywhere. That waterside vibe on every hole was kind of cool, but I realized it wasn't the vision for the course that I went into this with, and I wanted to stick with my original plan - I think that usually turns out the best results, but that could just be me.

Perhaps you might want to consult with bird-in-chief Terry Grayson?

I'm enjoying that this thread feels like an entire series of Friends.

Been home sick the past 2 days, so I've been messing around with this when I felt up to it. Hoping to get it out and published today if possible
