Great point Craig. If it was an HB issue, friendbomber would’ve gotten hit with the same stuff. It’s definitely an *censored by ANGC* issue. But it’s also concerning that any club who doesn’t want their course in-game can wipe out countless hours of work.

ANGC has literally copyrighted Amen Corner and the Hogan Bridge. But the Hogan Bridge isn't in the game, there is a bridge where the Hogan Bridge goes sure but besides being a bridge it bears little resemblance to the Hogan Bridge. The course in the game also doesn't mention Amen Corner in any way shape or form, and Rae's Creek as its represented is far from accurate (no offense to Royce or CLV its a game limitation). To me it amounts to nothing more than ANGC throwing their weight around which IIRC is something that was discussed and feared back in TGC 1 with regards to ANGC when the first versions of Magnolia were released.

Regardless of how well Rae’s Creek is represented, ANGC can’t claim a creek as their own. That would be like Darby Creek Golf Course in Ohio claiming “we own land on the Big Darby Creek, so we own a State and National scenic river.”

I think ANGC should give the designers of the great RCRs 2020 Masters tickets.
I mean, if they’re gonna **** them they should at least take them out to dinner.

Don’t blame you. A magnolia is a FLOWER. Augusta National does not own the rights to Magnolia grandiflora. Apparently HB can only censor all or nothing, though, so even completely unrelated courses (specifically, I can think of Walt Disney World’s Magnolia Course) are being hit. Luckily, unlike Magnolia National, you can still search “Magnolia” and it’ll show up.

Just curious, but will they come after TGCT for having a "Masters Tournament" that has a picture of a green jacket?
Might have to come up with a new Event name, but I say the prize should be for Irving's pants as he doesn't wear them anyway.

Wait, so did they actual delete the course files or just ***** the name? Royce said his file is gone. The word Masters is also gone on my society schedule. Obviously something to do with Augusta or possibly a license deal that 2K is trying to make. Highly doubt that but who knows. Hey look at it this way. They can now say they have not abandoned 19! Imagine if they remove all the RCRs names. We would have to go by pictures lol! HB needs a PR company. So bad.

I've often wondered what the future of the course creator is since 2K came on board. 2K is well known for their willingness to monetize as many things in their games as possible. Easiest way to do that in a golf game is new course DLC, however they're kind of shooting themselves in the foot if they also include a way for anybody else to make that same course and have it be free to play. If they're now being met with legal proceedings because of said feature that just gives them another reason to not include it in the next game. When TGC first came out the course designer was obviously the key selling point of the game but with the PGA license now that is no longer really the case.

I’ll say it right now: if the course designer becomes DLC, or is removed in the next game, HB will lose an absolute TON of their community. I never would’ve bought TGC1 if you couldn’t design courses. Honestly, I never would’ve continued to play TGC1 if I hadn’t found Canuck’s original design videos. This game is made by the course creator, and if 2K tries to take that away... I don’t even want to think about it.

Ironically I hesitated to buy TGC 1 because it didn't have real courses. Got over that real quick once I found RCRs.
Now on the sales side of things TW series did way better than all three versions of this game by a lot. But they did have a lot of licenced courses.
Slippery slope they are on.
Just wish we would have a new game update instead of this bullshit.
