I just published a beta version of Colonial Country Club under the name "C3 Lidar Beta." Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress, but I would love to get as much feedback as possible, especially on the course itself. I still have a fair amount of planting to do and surrounds to add, but I could really use some constructive comments on how the course looks and plays. I anticipate I'm 3-4 weeks from a final version. Thank you.

Course is really impressive- it plays really nice too. Great work with the retaining walls, the clubhouse, and tennis courts- really makes the whole environment look nice!
I’m not sure if I love the lighting, it seems a little too intense. I don’t think a super low lighting would look great on this course, but maybe just a little later in the day would look better... it’s your course and you know what looks best, so play around with it and see what you like.
Also keep on adding houses and other objects outside of the course, those things almost always make empty space look better.
Thanks for spending all this time on this course, you’re going to get a lot of people that will play this course, especially next spring when the Charles Schwab rolls around!

scoll3,
Thank you so much for the feedback, it really helps. To be honest, I haven't even tried adjusting the lighting yet. I will definitely try changing those settings when I closer to publishing the final course. I still have a lot to do, like finish the tennis center, more planting and adding more houses. Thanks again for playing the course and helping me out. Hoping to publish the final version in 3-4 weeks.

I couldn't be more happy to test a course, I swear. I played it checking it with the satellite map. What can I say. Is fantastic. You did a n outstanding work with everything, also the position of the trees is actually perfect. I can't give you useful feedbacks about the graphic, cause is something only a designer could do, but I can assure I can't find something wrong. Just a pray. If not even the stands, put in some crowds. This course deserve the right atmosphere provided by some people around the holes in a tournament. You are doing a great work, in any case. The course is gorgeous and the playability is great. With first pin and default conditions, in some hole you really need a good approach or you're forced to a great putt. I scored -12, just a stupid three putt bogey and a pair of missed putts actually doable, but I enjoyed every shot of my round. The trees well placed give also the chance (playing the course with no aim marker), to enjoy some breathtaking blind shot. The walls on hole 15-16 are masterpieces. Exactly as this course will be. Thank you!

Thank you, Ezzino for playing the course and the excellent feedback. There definitely needs to be more wind in the final version (it is Texas, after all) and I still have some finishing touches to put on the course as well. As far as crowds go, my plan has been to publish a member's version with 3 tee boxes and then, if the course is well received, publish a second tour version with only the championship tees and crowds/stands. The championship tees are only slightly over 7000 yards, so I think I need one set of tees for the tour version, along with higher winds and difficult pin positions to keep it interesting. I also was fortunate that Colonial hasn't changed much in recent years because the most recent Lidar data available was from 2009.

Your plan sounds like a great plan About the wind, yes, playing with all default I played with low wind. I'm sure that with some high wind, to score below 10 it will requires some serious skill, considering how tough some green can be. I really love this course. It will be great!
