Welcome new folks, Good luck to the old. You get two swings of the bat in the poll, closes next Friday.
Interesting development with Thomas not playing the last round to challenge Darryl, who would have taken some catching. Not sure how far back Jacob is going on his ranking or whether it starts from today’s event - But they’re the two to beat right now. A quality 2nd from Yaters after a horrible 7 derailed a brilliant first round - not a bad debut.
Not sure if it was the lighting, but I just couldn’t get my putts going the right distance. I holed a bomb on 2 that masked it a bit, but not being able to pick your pace makes it hard to pick a line. Or maybe I have the yips? I kinda suspect voodoo dolls are involved 🤔
Will be back tomorrow to get round 1 complete, I really like the course. There’s a water carry there that is an absolute pucker job lol.

Yep good win Darryl. I delayed a couple rounds for stream and never got back to it. I thought about it last night but as tired as I was a -18 wasn't going to happen. I remember the beachcomber from release, should be a fun event. Good luck everyone. I have a mini course to finish and an imminent new arrival to the family, but I'm planning to play in the next 2 days.

Well hmmm. Never felt very comfortable on this course. The lens-flare lighting and I always felt between clubs. My putting was just awful, slipping too many to count right past the hole. A number of lip-outs too. Not sure, but I never got anything rolling. Got a bit better each round but won't be cracking Top 10 this week. Nothing against the course, just wasn't my cup of tea I guess. Best of luck to everyone out there except Warwick Todd! I'd like to keep my streak alive of besting him. May your lies all be on a side hill and you visit the sand often.

With the exception of last week (waiting for it to be finalized), the rankings are actually done to the point I’ll use at the start of Season 6. Although I plan to use 20 weeks at a time once I make the rankings official (real OWGR prioritizes 10-20 weeks over the rest of the year; TGCT is more inconsistent though as it isn’t their player’s IRL career lol), I’m going to take the last 10 weeks of Season 5 and use them to create a base for the early part of Season 6. Otherwise, the rankings would be totally random as to who played the best and the most for the first few weeks of the season. I want a system that allows new players to get caught up relatively quickly, but also rewards those who consistently play rounds and finish well. For example, even though Thomas is one of the best on the tour, he’s ranked 11th in weeks 33-39 because of the WD in week 37. The formula I have now won’t punish a DNP much (though they will drop a little bit), but a WD or DQ is worse for the score than finishing last.
I hope to publish a sort of “beta” or “sneak peek” later this week to see what everyone thinks of the ratings and if they’re accurate. In that 7 week stretch, the top 5 are: 1. Darryl A. Montgomery 2. Mike Georgiades 3. Warwick Todd 4. Jeff McCord 5. Darrell Happens
I’ll post a lot more details in the rankings thread as I don’t want to clog up this thread too much, but I’m open to feedback and am still messing around with the formulas to make sure it’s pretty balanced!
Oh yeah, the tournament. R1 -11
Really messed up the 3rd. Two shots in the bunker, 3rd way over the green, bad flop and 2 putt bogey. In fact, all the par 5s gave me trouble. I almost eagled 6 though- hit the stick on the approach and had a tap in birdie!

One more post today, with good reason though. I just shot my lowest round in TGC19!
It included a double eagle- no, not an albatross, just back-to-back eagles, including this on 7:
(Sorry for poor video quality. Not sure how to increase it to 1080p)
That was part of a ten under 26 on the front- that included a par!
My putter went cold on the back nine, but I still made my way to a 30 to finish with a personal record 15 under 56! That leaves me at -26 into the weekend. I think I've given myself a chance to win, but I still have to play well in the other two rounds.
Also, related to my last post, later this evening I'll have a sneak peek at the UWGR in the other thread.
Good luck everyone!

Only needed one answer for the poll as I thoroughly enjoyed that course ... What it lacks in eye candy it makes up for with angles and strategy. I felt myself plotting my way around the course, which is a very good thing. A couple of pins I wasn't crazy about, but you'll have that. I found the course to be a grind, but in a good way. As for the golf: 62-61-59-61 to finish at -41. That score won't win, but I think a decent chance at top 10 as that course has some sneaky tough stretches. I think anything better than -2 on the par 3s is very good playing and you've got to get your scoring done by 14 as 15-18 is a tough finishing stretch. Playing that those four in -2 or better is likely picking up strokes on the field. What I'm kicking myself over is there's no reason the three par 5s, along with the nearly drivable 4th, shouldn't be played in -4 each day ... I think I left at 2-3 out there on those holes each of the first three rounds before playing them in -5 in round 4. That's probably the difference between top 10 and threatening to win. Great shooting jacobkessler with that 56. I think that's about as close to a perfect round you can get on that course. Wouldn't be surprised if that ends up low round for the week. Finish strong and you should be right in the hunt.

Victor is keeping up with the action on the BCT and loving the surge from Yaters and Kessler. Looks like Darryl, Thomas, Mayo, Georgiades, and Warwick have some heavy competition.
I can’t speak about anything official right now, but I have been in discussions with the Admins about upgrades to the BCT for season 6, including a proper name change for the tour. I’m not telling you NOT to carry on with your UWGR, but it may be used or needed as we develop this tour into its own great series. Stay tuned!
P.S. Love the nickname “Ohheypet”, that made me chuckle.

I intended to play the rest of my rounds later in the week, but my game was so hot that I had to give it a go, especially since the web.com (excuse me, Korn Ferry) is in town IRL this week.
Almost eagled 7 again in round 3- less than a foot for birdie! Unfortunately, the rest of the round was not my best. My swing just wasn’t as good as the first couple rounds- luckily, my putter kept me in it for a -10 61. I’m still kicking myself for a stupid bogey on 13- I was right inbetween clubs and I should’ve hit a safe shot to the middle of the green and gone for a two putt par, but I decided to go for the daredevil play and ended up 15 yards long. One bad flop later, and bogey.
Really struggled with the winds in round 4, but managed to get to -12. Made another really dumb bogey on 6, though this time it’s because the wind did absolutely nothing to my ball (while it killed every other shot). Eagle on 14 though- a flop from 37 yards out! I also birdied 3 of my last 4, so even though I bet I’ll get beat outright, an eagle-birdie-par-birdie-birdie finish could help in the event of a scorecard playoff.
R1 -11 R2 -15 R3 -10 R4 -12 Total -48
So, I finished at -48. I haven’t been playing on BCT long enough to know if I have a chance, but judging by past leaderboards, it depends on the course. Plus, I shot sub-60 twice in the same tournament- I’ve never done that before, not even in TGC1!

With a -12 average that’s going to be really solidly in the top 10, fighting for a top 5, with an outside chance at a win. Great tournament!

It's the advantage of playing early, because now we all need to average -12 to tie. Which is far from a guarantee. Last week I succumbed to the pressure of Darryls opening -16, and this week, who knows? Maybe we all succumb to yours. At any rate, I haven't looked at the course as were playing it but that cant be far from the top

I think high 40s, maybe 50 gets it done this week. Of course I thought someone would get to -60 last week and that didn't happen. I'd be more than happy to put my feet up in the clubhouse at -48 and see what happens. Good luck!

I quit out at -8 or something thru 14. I thought the course was just waiting to be owned and another -16 first round was on the cards...
Time will tell.
I’ve told Victor not to leave on my account. I’ll ignore him. You guys like him and this is about to become a great tour so he shouldn’t leave on my account.
One last thing - no fanciful stories of sitting around an imaginary campfire have been involved in this thread. So far it’s been the best one on BCT for ages... just sayin.

I’m not leaving BCT because of you Ray, I was already going through some thoughts prior to last week. I’m sorry you don’t like the fictional narratives, but with me gone, at least it’s less for you to read.
