DISCLAIMER: This is in no way official, and if the admins would prefer an official system, PM me and I’ll happily remove it.
Hey everyone!
I've been working on this for a bit and thought I'd share. Seeing as the BCT is the only stand-alone tour (what I mean by that is you can’t play on any others, as TST is interchangeable with the main tours), I think it would be cool to have its own ranking system!
The BCT does have a money list on the main site, but at least from what I’ve seen, that doesn’t seem to be working/active. The idea I have for this ranking system is there are two main factors: overall earnings and average finish. People who play more often will be rewarded with points, but people who play less but consistently finish high will also be rewarded.
I’m still messing around with the formulas and such, but I’m hoping to have a public spreadsheet available by week 1 of season 6! One thing to note is that players who play the BCT, go through q-school, and return to BCT will have pre-q-school stats removed upon returning. As much as I’d like to keep those, this will all be done manually and I just don’t have the time to remove and re-enter scores. In fact, I’m probably already getting myself into more than I realize lol
This thread will likely remain dormant until Week 1 (or once I finalize the formulas), but I’ll bump this thread and update the post once all of that stuff is available.
I’ve mentioned it multiple times, but *this is not official* and has no effect on your TGCT world ranking or anything like that. I want to be completely clear about that.
I’m also open to suggestions, so if you’re confused about anything or have ideas, let me know!
Happy golfing!

Quick sneak peek! Although these won't be officially unofficial until the end of S6W1, I'll keep this sheet updated each time an event is finalized.
You can view general info in the welcome tab, the current rankings, past rankings, and the "player info" sheet that shows the amount of points a player earned each week. That way, if you see a mistake, you can see exactly where it occurred. Report any mistakes to me via PM and I'll take a look at it! This is still in "beta," so the formulas used to calculate UWGR points are subject to change until the start of the next season. Although it isn't obvious now, scoring will be done with a 20 week time frame- as in, scores will count from the last 20 weeks. Hopefully, that will make it so those who consistently play well are near the top, but it's also still possible for new players to catch up if they play well enough. I'm hoping to add more charts to visualize the data, but for now my main concern is balancing the charts. Hope you enjoy, and good luck out on tour!

Thanks you for this and I think it's just the kind of thing that BCT needs, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Okay, the second post has now been updated with a sneak peek at the scores! In all honesty, this project has moved quicker than expected, so hopefully everything will be ready to go when Season 6 starts.
Right now, the main feedback I'm looking for is regarding chart balance. Do the top 20 look pretty accurate, keeping in mind the only data currently used is weeks 33-40? I put a lot of work into making the equation fair for everyone. It mostly favors average score to reward those who consistently play well, but the total points rating is used to prevent someone from playing one event in a large field, earning a ton of points, and never playing again to keep a high rating. Still, the weight on total points is relatively low, as if a new player comes in and starts dominating, it should be possible for them to rise in the rankings in a timely manner. DQs/WDs were originally worth 0, but in order to compare those who've withdrawn from one event to those who've withdrawn from more (assuming they've never finished an event), it's set at -1. A DNP isn't worth anything- that way it doesn't mess up the average by too much, so taking a week off won't set you back too far.
Let me know what you think!

Is it possible to anchor the label (top line) for each category so when I scroll down to W I can see what each column represents without having to remember.
Not a biggy if it can’t be done 👍

Not a biggy if it can’t be done 👍 Don’t think it’s possible because I do have them “frozen,” but apparently that doesn’t show up when embedded. This link lets you open it in your browser or the sheets app, so I believe it should be fixed there!

Thanks. I should probably use my PC but have always used my phone for everything TGC. The mobile page has limitations, but I like it.

jacobkessler Would it be possible to add a field indicating which platform each player plays on?

jacobkessler Would it be possible to add a field indicating which platform each player plays on? Yeah! It should be pretty much the same as the country field- it’ll just take me a bit to put all of the info in.

After some consideration, I’ve decided to remove Ray, oh sorry, I mean Mr. Liestoldaboutme, due to the ban as well as “retirement” shown on the leaderboards. That means everyone below 3rd has moved up one spot.

Truly amazing job Jacob, well done. My rank of 13th overall looks fair to me, happy with that.
I look forward to seeing the fruits of your hard work in Season 6.

As promised, you can now view each player’s platform(s) on the leaderboard! For players with multiple platforms, as it’s hard for me to tell if they’re inactive on one platform but not another, I’ve just listed all that are associated with their TGCT profile. If old players change platforms, I won’t update that unless they contact me directly- I wish I could do that, but that would be way too time consuming. The same is true for name changes, but I don’t expect that to happen very often, although I’ve already had to change two. If I don’t recognize a name change, it’ll simply be entered as a new player, which is not a good thing...
If you do happen to come across any errors, don’t hesitate to let me know- I want to make this as accurate as possible!

jacobkessler - awesome job man. You can remove PS4 from my profile. I don't have TGC2019 for PS4.
