Even earlier start than normal for me today - wanted to get my opening two rounds in before going out for the rest of the day.
Easy conditions in those two rounds.........
Very steady for me, I think it was just one bogey in each round (and they were both 3 putts)
Unfortunately not too many birdies either, but a solid, if unspectacular -1 and -2 for -3 at the cut.
Given the conditions, that might not be enough, as there are a few birdie chances out there if you hit it well (I felt like I was always just off line / length), but there are also plenty of chances to take a really big number on a hole (if you get off tempo near the water)
Good luck all - enjoy the slopes

Had an extra half hour spare, so played round 3 - a nice -5, which featured an eventful last 6 holes - holed a monster (45ft) on 13 for an unlikely birdie, then tried my best to destroy a solid round on 14 by leaving it in the bunker - but holed a 12ft curler for bogey! Then another big swinging putt on 15 (20ft) before nearly holing it at 16, and adding another one at the most dangerous pin on 17. Easy winds and slower greens made the toughest pinset playable.
Round 4 tonight maybe.

Soft greens on that pinset may help...if I can get to the weekend.

Well, I made my first 4 cuts on the PGA Tour.... Not this time.
I haven't played that bad overall but I made a 9 on the short par 3 in the first round. Ended up with a +3.
Second round was similar. Had one double bogey, two bogeys but quite a few birdies as well - 3 under for even par after two rounds.
Season is over for me. Good luck in the playoffs.
See you next season!

-7, -3 for -10 at the cut
Disappointed with that R2 score to be honest, took a double at the 7th, bogey at 9 and finished out with bogey on 17 and 18. Was guessing with my 170 yard approach into 17 was going to be effected by the up slope I was on, it was and ended up pin high the wrong side of the ridge. Putted off the green with my birdie putt. Only hole I had tempo trouble with was 18 in both rounds, R1 fast downswing and ended up 86 feet away, managed a 2 putt par. R2 another fast downswing and was lucky to find the green, cleared the water by a yard, but couldn't get up and down.
No clue if -10 makes the cut but thats the best I've hit the ball in ages. Started holding the controller at a 15 or so degree angle which has helped remove the slice I had. How stupid would it be that the 1st cut I make that isn't a minor event will be in the playoffs?
Great course Rob, couldn't help but give fist pumps after a birdie or long par save.

64-67-64-65 - 20 under total.
Made a ton of birdies but threw in three or four big numbers and some other bogies too.
Really enjoyed the track from the first time i played it. The water never bothered me so much - but some of the run offs around the greens did. I went left @ 11 and was lucky to make a seven. Still, it was meant to be tough and it is. And it was set up sensibly at least

Nice shooting @chrashbird And of course AFCTUJacko (but that goes without saying)
My round 4 was extremely boring for the first 14 holes - one bogey at 11, and a Nick Faldo impression for the rest. Then 3 birdies in the last 4 (including a nice 30 footer on 18) got me to double figures under (which was pretty much my target at the start)
15 birdies and just 5 bogies for the event - if you'd offered me the latter bit at the start I would have bitten your hand off (with no doubles or worse) - just too many pars (including 3 stupid ones out of 4 at the 3rd)

Off and away with -9... made a really stupid bogey that extinguished the fire of a -7 front 9 and struggled to regain the momentum. How it wasnโt -10... well ๐ Sadistic? I like the course. There... thatโs cursed it.

Really pissed away round 1, but came back ok after that. My lack of playing recently is really magnified on a course like this, one bad swing is punishing.
I don't think I made it too difficult on you Bob, but you will have to show up. ๐

No magic in R2. All just fractions out and had 2 putts break the wrong way on marginal reads... stupid bogey for good measure too. Was a grind but managed -5...
Onward.
