Murdered by the Pin on the 7th in the last round. Finished -6 after a +1 in Rd 3 and Even par last round (-4 on the back 9 to put some respectability on the scorecard). Still can't work out my optimum beer level for playing this game. See u all next week

Finished up this week. I stayed away from mistakes, but sprinkled birdies instead of pouring them on.
-6 -3 -4 -4
-17
Very pleased with my total around a track that I usually don't fair very well on.

I started my 1st round and realized after about 7 holes that I used the loft box, so I will take a DNF this week.

Only thing keeping me from joining USE is the no chipping from bunker rule. IRL, Iโve had a flat green side bunker with the pin 9-10 yards away. Way easier to chip than flop. Taking away this part of game is not making the game more realistic IMO.

Taking away this part of game is not making the game more realistic IMO. In the game it is way easier to chip than flop. In real life any consistency from soft sand by chipping with a LW is near on impossible you would likely hit it fat or thin when you need to hit it clean. If you watch professional golf on TV pro golfers always play the splash explosion shot. What is not realistic is the game's mechanics in that a bunker plays just like grass on a chip shot. A chip shot in real life can even be difficult out of the sand even with a chipper. What isn't realistic is the whole concept of chipping out of bunkers on top courses. In real life only a golfer with no confidence in bunkers would attempt chipping out of one.

The whole point of have an ultra sim is to play the game in the most realistic way, we can't be a slightly more realistic Sim Society in my eyes because Ultra means absolute. The most realistic way to play this game, slow sling shenanigans and bunker chipping is not realistic as much as a loft box is not realistic. I am gonna put a poll up to see where this society wants to go in the terms of realism, no matter the result I will always play the game as close to real life as I only play the game here because the way I play it just feels real to me. The poll is up for 1 week

I think my vote is clear - I go for realism. I really think it is nice to have a community that is like-minded in this - realistic gameplay as possible on real courses. There are other societies for the not so realistic way, so I hope that we keep this as realistic as possible.
I also will apologize - I will not be able to finish this weeks rounds. I should have made the rounds earlier, and I am too busy this weekend. And Hammers - I have made progress on the partial chips - getting good tempo.

Great to hear anders, feels good to get those partials close and not cheating on difficulty by using loft which I always felt I was doing before I played USE. Tbh like the real game you get to feel muscle memory for distance the more you practice. I always swing the camera around to a side view to see my elevation to the pin on chips as it's a good way to see how much up or downhill your chip is, you sometimes get those downhill chips where you basically have to land it on the fringe or rough to get it close. Like real life the more you work on the whole short game, not just the putting

It's easy to stop at the top off the backswing, count and then get a slow/very slow and without any risk of hitting too long. You could ofcourse be wrong in the distance you needed - but you would get what you planned with ease. With a partial - there is a real risk of hitting too long or short if you don't time the partial correctly. So it is clear that this method requires more skill.

The chipping and pitching is a different story, I putt like a 5 handicap chip and pitch like a 20 handicap. I know Anders you said we should chip with a LW but when your putting is your a game you reach for the less lofted club when you can. Anyway I have played more rounds this this year than I've ever played in a year about 16, picked up 3 trophies in my societies first 3 tournaments this year 26 V 26team win, a 2nd on our first tournament and 3rd in our second. 4 poor showings in the last 4, but this year I have realised, man I can hit a 6 iron so consistently well ๐๐ช

the Full Ultra Sim Realistic Mode, is the best and most fun way to Play this Game. which for me includes ' No Shot feedback ' ( I have been experimenting and I definitely play better with Shot feedback ON ) If the Game is Played with Shot Feedback OFF and Distance ball travels OFF. it was slightly harder also , not quite sure why. and absolutely no peeking with follow cam also. I have noticed scores go down with the this and is also not realistic. I have been turning the PIN location OFF myself . its harder but more fun. ( use birds eye view map to see where the pin is. ) I was experimenting also with chipping out of bunkers on some previous tournaments, agree that it is not very realistic . Along with the Forced Slow shot on back swing, for any TYPE on Shot Period . in the Game. ( Including Drives and Fairway shots, Just not Realistic. In my Opinion. This is how I am playing the rest of the Season. Playing with these Rules Along with the Original USE Rules. Is and has always been the Most Fun combined with realism. that this game offers. Good luck to everyone . my feeling is that everyone else wants to play this Game the most difficult way , along with being realistic as Possible.

I played tournament on Elverum golfklubb last saturday, and I had a good game tee to green. But it was all completely blackout on the greens. I could not read them. No excuse they where really slow because the green keeper has stopped cutting the greens for the season - soon winter in Norway - but I read breaks that was not there, and when there was breaks I read that wrong as well. My weakest point has actually been chipping - it is the part where I need to focus the most for practice. I have good distance control with the putter, but on chips - it is too inconsistent. As a playing friend of mine said - it's either really good, or really bad. Nothing in between. My point on the lob wedge for chipping is what I see on top level - it is more and more common to see the good players only use the lob wedge from 100 yards towards the green. For my own game, I also only use the lob wedge for consistency, and it works at times really well. My pitches are good in distance control for the most part, but I need to be more precise in aiming. This is also true for approach shots in general. My natural swing is a draw, and I have tend to miss left, though at the later part of this season my misses has been to the right because I am starting to straighten my shot, so I need to undo my tendency to compensate for my draw on the aim. Bad habits.

Bad habits. I have always felt the more the ball is in the air the harder to judge distance in the short game.I always try to leave myself a full 3rd shot on par 5's and it really helps my scores rather than some in between pitch. My natural game is also a natural draw, I have an in to out swing and my bad shots are pushed blocks to the right or a hook to the left. Never sliced a shot ever
