Season 2 of USE will be doing a countback of round 4 total score for tied tournaments, think of it as your 18 hole sudden death playoff score as well as your 4th round. If round 4 totals are tied then goes to round 3 total score and so on...

Wow...now that was hard. After having played on TST past six weeks, decided to give UST a try. +8 and +5 my first two rounds. And only 3 birdies. Biggest challenge obviously is no loft box...but a challenge for sure. I have to figure out how to do slow/fast on back and forward swing. As someone who has played TST from it's beginning before I switched to only playing the game in ultra sim settings here are a few tips on the differences. Course management comes much more into play now, how far to leave your approach shots on the shorter holes. Irl I would always like to leave myself a full shot of say 90 to 100 yards than a tricky pitch of 60 to 80 yards and I find the tempo more difficult in this game on pitch and flop shots than full shots. Try to leave yourself a full LW or SW to the green. Practise those chip shots on the practice green, short chip shots are much more difficult because you can't loft them up and stop them quickly like you can TST .USE short game is 90% about partial shots, with practice you really start to get a feel for distance on these shots.I had been playing partial bunkers on TST with flop since TGC2 so there was no change there for me. Difference on the putting from TST is you can't pull back the marker to hit the putt softer, practice those downhillers because you have to hit them much softer than TST. If you want a view from behind the hole change your club to a wedge press Y and you can pan the camera around the hole. Also practice hitting 95% shots, I have made so many birdies when it comes off, don't always go for tucked away pins, better to aim where you know the ball can land and roll on. It's better to have a 25 foot putt than a tricky chip or flop.

I think my biggest challenge has been flop shots. I don’t carry a LW, preferring an extra long iron, but I make a lot of mistakes when I need a 50 yard shot. I can either try and go slow on a SW-pitch, or hit a fast PW-flop. Usually it’s a disaster. Regarding the putting, I’ve never played moved the marker back and forth. My tempo has always been based on 1 sec per 10 feet...adjusting of course for uphill/downhill. I agree that some pin placements are tucked to one side...best to go for middle of green and try to walk away with par.

I would definitely go with a lob wedge playing USE, you need that loft on the tricky short chips and it's great for bunker flop shots too as you need that extra loft coming out of the sand from short distances. I really recommend practicing the 95% full shot on short irons. Hole 4 I pulled it off for birdie from 6 foot in round 4, hole 12 also got 95% to 6 foot though I missed the birdie putt, next hole the par 3 13th 95% to 5 foot which I holed. Takes more skill than dialling a bar up and down just like distance control in real life takes skill and wow it feels good when you get it right

This is my golf bag which I like that it keeps the distance gap really close, any other members here feel free to post what clubs you carry.

Round 3 played really well was 2 under and then missed three 6 footers for birdie including this one where the approach was 1 inch from landing straight in the hole as you can see from the pitch mark. An ugly triple on 14 ruined a solid round in high winds.R3 70 (E) Round 4 I played really well, holed a lovely 14 foot birdie on 18 which I'm happy with. 2 under for the 18th which is stroke index 1.R1 47 foot for par,R2 41 foot for birdie,R3 14 footer for par,R4 14 footer for birdie.Have to say there was a bit of excitement on that hole for me this week 😅 R4 67 (-3)

Driver(285),2 Wood(253),1(234),3(214),5(194)-9 Iron, All Wedges
I love my hybrids IRL but on this game they’re complete junk from the rough. The 1 Iron is the best rescue club in the game. It hits far more accurate and with a greater lie percentage than both hybrids and woods in this game. It has saved me numerous times, can get 200+ from the thick stuff. Fast swing with a 5I helps fill the gap some from missing 4 Iron.
Also, learning to hit partials in USE has really improved my scoring in my other societies. Now I have an endless arsenal of short game shots at my disposal.

Yep, I have the 1 iron. Love it.
Can't remember my exact setup.
I think I have all the wedges, irons to 6, then driver, 5wd and the wood/hybrid that goes 216yd. That's probably too many! Haha.

Now I use no fairway woods other than the 2. The 1 iron is definitely a life saver and is so much more accurate and can get you good distance out of the rough. I still haven’t figured out the 95% swing, I can get it a few times practice swing, but as soon as I ready up...boom either 85% or 100% fast. I’ve decided to just play around it for now and pick the lesser of two evils if I’m between clubs, as opposed to trying 95 and it completely backfires.

I go with the 2 Iron and the 4 Iron instead of the 1 and 3 because I like the versatility on the par 3's more with that setup. It still comes down to covering gaps with fast swings sometimes, but I still get the distance benefit out of the heavy rough with the 2 iron.

I'm not completely happy with my range of longer distances, like you said, sometimes comes up on long par 3s.
