Really appreciate all the work you put in hammers1man, but if I could ask one favor it would be if you could drop the "R" from my name on the leaderboards. Cheers!

Going to either play Crooked Tree next to Bay Harbor (I can't afford to play Bay Harbor no matter how bad I want to), or Shanty Creek Cedar River in Bellaire (hopefully both). Will be in Charlevoix for a week. Are you from the area, or just familiar? I live in the lower part of Michigan, probably like 4 hours or so from Charlevoix. My nephew is at Treetops right now so it made me think of it. I’m not familiar with any other golf courses, as I dont ever golf myself (despite the fact I’m addicted to golf games and watch it on tv all the time!) but I’ve vacationed quite a few times just passed Mackinac Bridge. That is the area for sure. We fly into Grand Rapids and then head north from there. I was a Teaching Professional for 10 years, so there isn't anything I hate more than paying for golf but I love the game. Just can't get the love out of the blood once you have it. I know there is a bunch of great golf in those areas, and am pretty excited that I get the chance to enjoy it again. There is always something so relaxing about Northern Michigan in the summer time.

Thanks for the practice round, hammers1man it apparently helped!!
Just finished Round 1B, and did four strokes better! Maybe I should do more practice rounds before I play.

I was thinking tuffguts was on PC with us.
I played R1 last night, but I didn't pay any attention at all to the days left.
Yep on PC....my son has a monopoly on the XB1 most evenings. Looking forward to a more consistent showing this week.

Had to jam them all in tonight as I am headed to ATL to watch a little golf event. Was feeling pretty good until the final round. Still happy with +7 for four rounds on a quality course. Good luck to all, see ya in a couple weeks. Onward!

Round 1; Even (6 birdies but some scrappy stuff in between). Round 2; -4 (-5 on the front 9 and hung tough on the back with lots of pars, some nice up and downs and a few good long putt lags).
Good luck everyone.

Grrrr, sometimes I think it is impossible for me to have a good game.
Round 2. my goodness, those winds! But I like it, makes it challenging, and I usually play better in high winds. don't know why, but I tend to.
So got a couple birdies, and really feeling it. Art Vandelay 's gonna get a run for his money this time!
Bogied a few, but was real close, so even though I was even going into hole 13, I was still really really happy.
Then disaster struck. And it was (what I call) freaky things!!
On hole 13, its a par three. With that wind and that long of a hole, I thought I still managed to hit a decent shot, it hooked right, but looked like from the tee I'd be fine, just a 30 yd or so flop and bogey at worst. Oh no. The ball landed right behind a tree, and the tree was between me and the hole. I couldn't flop it to the green, because I was right under the tree. Ball would go into the branches. Couldn't chip it because I was about 36 yds away in heavy rough. So I finally decided to punch it under the limbs, and try to do only a half shot so it wouldn't go forever. Well, it hit the tree. Somehow did manage to flop it near enough the hole after that to bogey it. A bit rattled from that one, shaking my head, but onwards, right?
Hole 14 - Par 4, with a lake on the right. High Wind blowing left. So I aim over the lake, and hit it. Ball pretty much did what I thought would, curved back left onto the fairway. It seemed to take a strange bounce up and weird angle, but I figured I'm ok, didn't hit the water. I can hit out of rough or sand. Screen went blank like it does when you hit water, and I find myself way out, off the overhead, placing the ball on some other tee. WTF?? hahah. I hit replay and watched it three times and could not figure out what happened. So I did what I only ever have done once, (for the same reason) and turn follow cam on and watch the replay just so I could see what happened. Ball went where I thought, then hits something, then bounces over to a .... a... a.. THERES A CREEK ON THE RIGHT??!!!? LOL. I had no idea there was a creek over there, and my ball hit just exactly the right spot to bounce over and find it. So by the time I got back on the green, sufficiently rattled by now, I had a triple bogey.
managed to par hole 15, whew
But Hole 16, I dunno what happened. I'm just off the green in regulation, then had one of them back and forth things, where it took me 5 or 6 putts, because the ball kept missing and going really far the other way. Quad bogie.
So I basically was doing good, feeling good, and lost 8 shots on 3 holes. sigh.
bogied the last two just from being so rattled by now.
such is golf, rock on, brothers!

Round 3; -3 Up and down but mainly up with a couple of chip ins from the fringe.
Came into the last round at -7 and thinking good things......
Round 4; +6 Needed an up and down from the bunker on 18 for par to remain under par.
Yeah the winds make it tricky on a long course and with pins tucked close to the fringe but the other killer for me (apart from finding water on 17) was the low sun with greens in and out of shadow. Makes reading greens a bit tricky at times.
Anyway, bettered my previous 4 round total and learnt a few more things about the game.
Cheers and good luck to the players still to tee off......

I was looking at one putt, and looked back and forth at it three times, trying to figure out what was wrong, why I wasn't trusting what I was seeing. Finally figured out how the shadows were messing with your perception of the slope!

Aaaaand I learnt to lay off the beer before a TGC session....my already speedy play tends to devolve into impatient, poorly thought out shot making.

In fact a few months since I bought the game I'm getting a lot more satisfaction shooting sub-par in the Sim societies than scoring 40 something under in a CC-A tourney. Cheers

My USE game has totally collapsed. I rushed my 2 tournies before this because I was in-between holidays and stuff, but I could tell something wasn't right. And this tourny was more of the same I think I'm playing too fast, and too attacking. And then there's my putting. Easy to say what the troubles are, not easy to fix them. I'm doing plenty of good stuff, but way too much bad, and my scores are terrible.
