Suppose my first round could have gone worse but I really screwed some things up. Had a wild approach shot on 1 and then went right over the edge of the hole on my 24 foot putt. Lipped out a putt from the fringe on 6, then missed an 8 footer on 10. Put my second shot in the water on 14 and missed the par putt by 8 inches. Missed an easy 12 footer on 17. Had a couple bizarre slow downswings too. Also got this weird thing where sometimes at the very end of my downswing the line goes sharply to the right, it looks tiny but it gives me a massive slice. Ended up shooting -9 for the first round, which is pretty damn awful for this course in this wind and probably eliminates me from contending for a win or anything like that.
Second round started fine aside from more slow downswings, birdied the first 5 holes before missing an easy 13 foot birdie on 6. Missed a pretty easy 15 footer on 8 too, and another of that same distance on 10. Another slow downswing on my second shot on 11 right into the lip of the fairway bunker so I wasted that par 5. Went right over the edge of the cup on 12. Had the right line on 13 but left it 2 feet short. Water twice on 14 thanks to that weird slice on my downswing and that's probably my tournament over. Just to cap things off after birdieing the next 3 holes I went right over the edge on 18 from 13 feet.
Finished with a -7 after being -5 through 5, -16 through 2 rounds, almost certainly a missed cut. Expecting the cut line to be -20 or better TBH.

It's almost comical how inconsistent this game performs for me. I find myself playing it now just to see how much it will royally screw me from one round to the next.
1st round...smooth as butter. I made my own mistakes and carded a -10...easily could have been -14 or better
2nd round...slow back swings...very slow swings..very fast swings..putts hovering over the green glitch(I call them "skaters")..putts rolling right over the center of the hole....en route to a -2.
Just a joke really
I guess it's true...the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results.

Totally agree on the cut line being somewhere around 20. This course played a lot easier than many that we’ve been running into lately. I’m sitting at -22 at the halfway mark, think it should be good but you never know.

Looking forward to this one. Whoever wins this week will be having their name engraved on the trophy a couple of places under mine . The last and most certainly the best of my 3 wins back in the TGC1 days, I'd only just made the Euro Tour back in the time when it was on equal footing with the PGA and you could choose which tour you wanted to play. And crossovers, I miss crossovers... Anyway, the HB Studios Open was a minor event with the big boys off playing The Open and I made it count, playing really well in tough conditions at Calluna Meadows to win by 2 shots from the brilliantly named Lovedeep Singh. That was 2016, technically I held it for 2 years because it wasn't played in the 2017 season due to the TGC1/2 crossover before dgforelife took it in 2018.
A lot has happened since then. A couple of seasons on PGA, most of this season back in the Challenge Circuit, and now we're back! To be quite honest I have no designs on winning, I just want to make a damn cut. Good luck all!

I hate these target practice courses. I'm like Brooks Keopka, fare well in the majors and tough conditions, then tank the easy ones.
Round 1: Clean card with only 6 birdies. Every par feels like a bogey. This should be -10 in my sleep, ugh.
Round 2: Thinking I need -14 to make the cut and -10 to avoid a red mark. Struck the ball well with mostly perfect/perfect shots. Had two bad pitch shots. Ended at -11. -14 was definitely on the table here.
-17 should miss the cut but probably get me just above a red mark.
Round 3: There's that -14 I could have used BEFORE THE CUT &$%*#$*#$#$#$...

R1 Very slow downswing on 3rd and hitting 3 from the tee. Ugh. Came back but another waterfall/OB in R2 has me at -21 thru 2. Cut watching time.

Seem to have lost my mojo a bit at the moment. Still enjoying my societies but quite looking forward to an enforced end of season break from these rounds.
First round, on the front 9 couldn't find my tempo and ended up either scrambling or with long birdie putts. Only made one of any note, -2 at the turn. Back 9 managed to get in to a bit of rhythm but putter was still cold. Still, got to the 18th tee at -8 thinking one more would salvage something half decent. Gave myself a good look at birdie from about 10 feet..... and 3-putted. FML.
Second round I now know I'm going to need around 60 at least. Misjudged the wind (which did move after I'd lined my shot up) on the first tee and put it in the water. I actually physically felt a grey hair sprout on my temple, which was also slightly throbbing at this point. Went on to miss a relatively straightforward bogey putt, double to start. Kind of went through the motions from there, played ok but it was already gone.
65 and 64 for -15 at the cut. Cut could well get to -20 although I wouldn't lose hope on -18/-19. But it certainly won't be -15. Two and out. Again.

Played them all early this week to free up time for other adventures. Putted as bad as I ever have in round #1, and didn't make enough in round #2 to make up for it. Will be a quick week for me as I was -17 pre-cut and -25 post-cut. Becoming a professional at burning those promo marks.

-14/-15 for -29 at the cut. I see I'm currently tied at the top with a couple others on the leaderboard here on the site for r1. Should be the same, give or take, for r2. We'll see, lots of golfers left to play and the super low scores are definitely out there to be had on this course.
While I usually put r3/r4 off to the next weekend I went ahead and played r3 for a -13 and am tied with at least Geddes at -42 on the in-game leaderboard thru 3. Haven't looked since yesterday afternoon so things could have changed.
Lowest numbers I've shot in some time and honestly still feel like I left a few out there. 3 distinct brain fart putt misses 7 foot or less. The fact that I'm at -42 thru 3 and feeling like I left strokes behind just shows how easy this course was playing. I don't dislike it but it's definitely different. Flat & moderate greens leave the course pretty defenseless.
Hoping to be in the running for the W this week...I'm going to hold off on playing my final round to see how things progress. I felt like my game was starting to peter out as the day wore on yesterday so I didn't finish, and it's always a bit of a gamble playing after work during the week so I may wait until Saturday. We'll see, I am perfectly capable of saying F it when I get home tonight and loading up without so much as a warmup hole. Sometimes that works best...but also sometimes it's a disaster. My primary goal is just to get the final promo mark but I wouldn't mind doing so in style with a second win of the season. Good luck all!

After missing 3 cuts in a row, this course was just what the Doctor ordered! Have to say it was the most consistent 2 rounds I've played in a long time. Nice to get my red mark removed. RD1 -13 RD2 -12 Now I'm nervous to finish up as I'm not sure I can keep this up

-9 -5
Missed cut.
I’m a CC player at best at the moment. Just can’t seem to hit anything straight with any consistency and putting well that’s another story. Good luck to everyone

Was -22 at the half and decided to play my next two ....had one of my best rounds ever in the third, shot a -17 that included 3 eagles. Sitting at -39 heading into the final round and I started feeling a bit of nerves, ended the event with a disappointing -7 that includes my first bogey of the tournament. Overall I’m pleased with a -46 as I’m usually a player who’s on the wrong side of the cut up here....but I’ll curious to know if a strong final round could have got me my first promo mark.

This level of play is there....if I could only find it in my tournament rounds. I even missed some somewhat easy putts frustrating next week's course
