Played a practice round. Some holes, just play for the middle of the green, take a par and go to the next hole happy. fransslabak lions67 Frans, Kevin McGuire will be you fill in player next week. Kevin was a S2 Dirtbag.

Sorry fellow "Weekend Hackers" but my team rounds were a disaster. 2 over par round 1 followed up with an evens for round 2. I cannot stand links (lottery) courses & when they are masquerading as an RCR it somehow makes me play even worse. Lost count of the number of pins that laughed in the face of the "minimum 4 yards from the fringe" rule... don't mind a couple per round but the trait was far too many & I got very frustrated, which when coupled with the Master clubs tempo on PC had me itching to throw the towel in. Will finish out rounds 3 & 4 using Master clubs so it's fair on my single round opponents but from next week I'm back with the Pro set.

SAMSimon, although I have not played round 1 yet, I played a practice round and noticed 'too many sucker pins'.

Kevin was a S2 Dirtbag. Dear Bill, You are, of course, absolutely right that average golfers should go for the middle of the green... BUT we, Cloudcuckoolanders, are not average golfers and we play for glory and to entertain the crowds! 😉 I will admit that I did not manage the glory part this week but I can assure you that the crowds could not stop laughing and cheering me on to have another go, and another, and another, and another, and another, at trying to chip it on on the last hole in round 3! 😂😂😂 I can promise you, the crowds and my cuckoo-teammates one thing: next time, I will go for... exactly the same shot!!! 🤪 Best wishes Frans

Frans, in my practice round, I did what you suggested. I made a snowman (8) on #8 and a double bogey on another. The weakest part of my game right now is under 50 yds and that includes chipping. That is why this hacker will play for the middle of the green and stay away from pins that won't hold a shot.

Fellow Dirtbags I have been silent for a while due to my efforts on the real life golf course where I have only my ineptitude to blame rather than poor course design or tempo issues. I have produced the new score sheet in anticipation of a frenzied message from billybudd0623 , your restraint is uncharacteristic. DIRTBAG4For newer Dirtbags, if I 'like' your post with a score included, that means I have seen it and added it to the score sheet. I am not gloating if it is below your normal standards. Fellow Grass Whisperers, I know you were expecting my usual dog's dinner of shanks and mishits to produce sub-standard rounds leaving the rest of you carrying too much load. I am afraid that for the first round at least I will have to disappoint you. By some miracle I have made peace with the big boy's clubs and am frankly a little disappointed to have only shot a -6 opening round. This leaves me currently inside the top-10 of CC-C. What do you do for a nose bleed? Is it head forward or head back whilst pinching the bridge of your nose?

Managed a -4 for the second round. Overall this is still mostly unlike my form of last season.
