The private charter flight from Greece has arrived in Harrisburg, PA, bringing with it a slew of golfers looking for glory on the Beginners Club Tour. This week they'll try their hand at Dauphin Highlands Golf Club, one of central PA's most popular public courses.
After last week's extremely long course, this week will come as a reprieve, as strategy of the approach shots into the green becomes the premium. The greens are relatively easy as well, so the tour expects a lot of putts to drop, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the winner at sub -50 this week.
Victor Lane was already seen on the course's practice facility as of Sunday afternoon, perhaps feeling excited by his runner-up finish the week before. However, he may also feel a little bit of pressure, since he has played this course many, many times with designer Eric Nesbit. The expectations will be high this week, so hopefully he brought his A game. One thing is for sure though... he's already asked the club to mark off about 15 parking spaces in the parking lot for Darryl to park the RV. The club has a large parking lot, so party central will be set up right on the grounds of the club this week, giving the players maximum opportunity to gather before and after their tournament rounds.
Good luck everyone!

Darryl went out early this week after being paired with...well, no one once again. He was, however happy to be back on American soil after a long trip across the pond. Happy to have made the trip and the adventure that it brought, he was upset with his play at Hellenic and where he finished, but life must go on. Darryl had great knowledge of this weeks course having played here with the designer, Eric Nesbit so he felt great going into this week, with help of malt liquor of course. He took his Sunday afternoon tee time and had a field day on Dauphin Highlands shooting -17. Every shot, every putt just seemed to work out for him. He had visions of shooting -20 but had a couple pars coming in on the tough finishing holes. He is hoping his pals have great rounds this week as this should be a shout out on the leader board and fun to watch as the week rolls on.

After arriving in Harrisburg, PA, from Greece, as he was making his way to Darryl's RV Mike noticed that Darryl and Ian Miller had already posted -17 round 1 scores and thought to himself here we go again. upon reaching the RV he noticed that Victor was sitting there with a grin from ear to ear, which he thought seemed strange for a man who had just lost by a stroke in Greece along with himself, Victor couldn't wait to fill him in with the good news (from Victor's point of view) that Chris Rogers had to relinquish his BCT title from Greece due to playing in and winning the CC-A, John Daly Cocktail Open tour event that same week and as a result Victor Lane and Mike Georgiades had now in fact tied for 1st with Victor claiming his maiden BCT win in a count back, Mike just stood there in disbelief for a moment before extending his hand to congratulate Victor on the win.

Hector flew out to Greece last week in Jeremy Mayo's private charter flight but rumor has it he never made it off the plane. The rumors weren't entirely true as Hector wanted to do some sightseeing and got lost for several days in Athens, missing his tee times. A picture was found on twitter of him sleeping outside of the Acropolis that was posted by an American tourist. He was waiting for his competitors after the tournament to fly back to Harrisburg, PA with them. He gave a fist bump to Victor Lane on the flight to congratulate him on a successful week just missing out on a win (Victor would later find out that he in fact DID win the tournament).
Upon arriving in Harrisburg, Hector needed something to get his spirits back up after missing out on the tournament last week. He got an Uber ride over to Hershey, PA where he would tour Hershey's Chocolate World. He arrived back on the tournament grounds with a large bag to see Darryl's RV already set up to party in the parking lot. Inside the bag was a large supply of Hershey's chocolate to share with his competitors. The already inebriated BCT players at the RV ate all the chocolate within a half hour. Many of them were seen suffering with terrible stomach aches during their practice rounds.
Hector was feeling good relaxing outside the RV with a belly full of delicious chocolate and sipping on a frosty bottle of 1800 tequila that he found in the freezer rack of the mini-fridge in Darryl's RV. This week he was on the grounds and he WOULD play! Having already played the course a few times before Hector is excited to tee it up on a familiar track and see how low he can go.

What a nightmare. Fresh off the LONGEST plane ride, Shaun couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment after the 4th round 70 and finishing T-29th. To make matters soooo so much worse and to everyone's surprise, word came in that Victor had indeed won last weeks tournament in Greece and was now coming to one of his home courses. Victor seemed to have stolen a few of Darryl's groupies and were waiting for him on the ground in PA upon landing. Shaun just stood back, starring in disbelief wanting to be alone in his thoughts, and also because he was holding in a fart in front of Darryl/Vics groupies. Angry, confused, and apparently constipated, Shaun wasn't going to wait around to watch any celebration and began Immediate preps for this weeks tourney right away . En route to Dauphin Highlands Trayys asks his uber to stop for a quick bite to eat at the next place we pass by, which happened to be the "SouthAff Cafe". When he walked in the front door, he couldn't believe what he saw next... Wait.. no.. not that Ernie... It couldn't be... Shaun Trayys childhood hero Ernie Els was flipping burgers right in front of him... with his hair blowing in the air vent he looked over and locked eyes with Shaun Trayys. With a grin Ernie says "I've been waiting for you Trayys". Shaun shocked and still awkwardly locked into Ernie eyes says back, "Ernie what the hell are you talking about?" Ernie starts to laugh and walk towards Shaun, all while taking off his apron and putting down his spatula, he gets real close to Shaun, close enough to whisper in his ear(I know this is weird Ernie wtf) and says to Shaun "These BCTches don't stand a chance with Ernie on the bag" pats Shaun on the back and hops in the uber... So now with Ernie on the bag, Shaun gives the uber driver the address to Dauphin Highlands... good luck this week!

Be sure to bring Ernie by the RV! We can swap stories of chasing tail and 6 putting greens 😊

Mike would walk to the driving range in great spirits wearing his usual attire for his warm-up as he has done at all BCT events thus far. Feeling like he was in the best form of his life he took to the 1st tee, Mike would get off to another fine start making birdie on 1 & 2 followed by birdie, Eagle, birdie on holes 4, 5 & 6 to be -6 in just as many holes, Mike would hit a great drive on 7 and start his walk down the fairway when all of sudden a battery would come flying out of the crowd and hit the unsuspecting golfer in the head, after a brief injury break Mike resumed his round but would not look anything like the golfer his was just 30min prior, Mike would unfortunately go onto make bogies on 7 & 8 then try to steady the ship, with a birdie on 9, but would bogie again on 10. Mike would make somewhat of a comeback birdieing holes 11 through 14 and another 2 on 16 & 17 for a -10 (62) which would leave him 7 shots off the early pace and all hope of winning gone with it. Mike would learn a valuable lesson about what attire should not be worn anywhere near Philadelphia. Photo of Mike’s practice attire below.

You have two wins already brother, so just finish as high as you can. Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus have the best winning percentages of all time, and they are around 18-23% in their prime, which is unbelievable, especially considering guys like Mickelson and others who are considered instant hall of famers, weren't even close to that percentage. But here you are expecting 100% as the only acceptable result. You HAVE to get to a point where you relax your expectations and take it easier on yourself. I'm asking you as a friend, PLEASE give yourself a break and have fun. Perfection can never be the expectation for ANYONE, because you will never achieve it.
Go bonkers in round 4, grab your top 5 or top 10, and travel with the group to the next tournament brother!

I'm at -43 through three rounds and know Darryl sits at -63 after 4. I really can't be bothered to continue. Being anywhere but 1st is a loss for me. Hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, take 24 hours to think about it.... If you won every week it wouldn't be much fun for any of us or even for you after some time, you won 2 weeks ago for the 2nd time which is 2 more than most of us. Competing every week with people you enjoy having rivalries with and having fun win or lose is why most of us came to this tour, not to dominate (looking at you Darryl...jk lol) Which adds to the fact of why we don't want you to just quit the tours again, I and I'm sure everyone else enjoys competing against you with the purpose of trying to beat you too, just like you want to beat us. -63 is an unreal score. So being -43 thru 3 round is uhhh yeah pretty good man and shouldn't discourage you at all.

I wish Dom E Nader was -43 after 3, instead he was -29 and had to go lights out in the final round to get to -44 total. He's already on his way to the next event knowing that score has no chance at anything.

While flushing every shot on the range this morning and getting a much needed putting lesson from Ernie before his tee time tonight, Shaun Trayys seemed to feel great about everything involved with his game heading into his rounds. All set to walk off the practice facilities until Ernie simply didn't look right all the sudden, he was just standing, frozen in place like he had seen a ghost... "Whats wrong E?" asked Shaun. Ernie finally broke his creepy stare and turned to Shaun with a look of fear, points up and says.... .

Maybe it was the rented villa, or the gryos he had the night before, but Jeremy Mayo never felt right last week in Greece. Couldn't figure out the wind, the greens. Mayo felt lost on a course he once loved. After a miserable finish outside the top 25, Mayo quickly chartered a flight back stateside with what was left of his PGA tour winnings and got to the next tour stop early.
There was something about Dauphin Highlands that just felt like home. Maybe it was the parkland feel, or how the course seemed to effortlessly flow through the rolling hills, but it just felt right. With a course to thoroughly enjoy, there was no need for extra curricular activities -- no partying on Darryl's RV, no slinging rum & Cherry Cokes back with Victor Lane -- the golf course was all Mayo needed. For some reason, he felt in his happy place.
The golf followed suit. -8 through 7 in R1 led to a front nine 27. Even a bogey on a suspect pin position on the 11th couldn't shake Mayo from this pleasant state of mind.
It was like that the whole week for Mayo, who never once stopped to look at a leaderboard. It was just head down, him and the golf course. Putts that hadn't dropped all year were falling, approach shots were pure. Life was good. He knew -31 after 2 had him in the hunt. The high winds of round 3, and perhaps a twinge of nerves being near the top of the leaderboard -- something Mayo had experiences only once in this TGC Tours career -- seemed to affect his tempo a little bit in Round 3. He failed to break 60 in that round and then got off to a slow start in Round 4. After missing a makeable eagle on 5, he just settled in and got back to just him and the course.
The result, a final round 59. -55 for the tournament. Finally, playing the 72nd hole, he let himself glance up at the leaderboard. There Darryl was at the top. Mayo just shook his head at the number and smiled knowing he gave it all he had.
It all seemed to make sense for Mayo, the 72 holes at Dauphin Highlands a cleansing experience. It wasn't about winning. It wasn't about getting his name up on the leaderboard. It was about the pursuit of playing as well as one can for 72 holes, regardless of the tour or swing setting. Mayo left Dauphin Highland at peace with his game, and ready for more fun adventures on the BCT.
First though, he needed to make his way to Darryl's RV. Certainly there will be some partying going on after a well-played week.

Had a 3ft birdie putt on 6, then a 4ft par putt, then a 5ft bogey putt.
#sh1tfark!!!
Plenty to do after 1, -11.
2 bogeys in round 2, both stupid ones. Just can’t get a grip on these greens. The birdies I’m making are through shotmaking, not putting.
-22, out of contention for anything beyond a top 25 maybe.
Pretty sure my caddy has pawned my putter. I’m pretty forgetful but I don’t think mine had ‘property of airport ave. putt putt’ stamped into it!!!

-34 thru 3. 6 behind Yaters, who is my current Xbox rival whether he knows it or not. I got him last week, he got me the week before. Those mini rivalries do it for me, not winning 👍🇦🇺👍

-45. Good, but not great. That’s ok though, there’s always next week. Had a nice little run going in round 3, but apart from that just couldn’t hole anything. Well played to Darryl, super stuff thru 2 👍
