In at -51. Tournament was over after rd 1 once again for me. Missed a couple 7 footers and couldn't really make any 12 to 20 footers all tournament to sniff a win.
Hopefully that sneaks into the top 10 but I doubt it.
Definitely a putting contest more so than usual this week as the FIR and GIR for everyone will be high as there isn't really any water in play or any trouble out there.
Only time I played great was rd 2 for the 1st 15 holes. Had it -14 in the very high winds. Then a snipe hook fast downswing off the tee buried into the sand made me lose my mind. Followed that bogey with a missed straight in 18 footer on 17 and a horrific par on 18 to officially end the tournament for me.
While a nice course, this is definitely not a pga tour worthy challenge. Definitely a head scratcher choice when we had 1 round of very high winds, and 2 rounds of high winds....yet when its all said and done 30+ people will shoot -40 or better.
On the positive...great to see some different firmness/condition settings!
Good luck to all those still to tee it up!

I played this course once and scored -12 or something like that and knew that -60 was easily in range depending on the winds. From one extreme to the other in 2 weeks.

I'm an idiot. I've been playing with "Enhance Pointer Precision" for the past 2-3 months and never realized it. For those who don't know what it is, Windows basically has had it out since Windows XP and its original use was to help accelerate the mouse over large resolution screens. The quicker you would move your mouse, the quicker the pointer moves across the screen. Nice if you have a 4k monitor and an older mouse that has a low DPI. To get across your screen, just move the mouse faster and for that movement the mouse will accelerate. In games however it can get things a big wonky. A fast movement like a golf swing can trigger this and make the mouse go faster than desired and thus I think it has been throwing off my tempo something fierce. I was wondering why when this game came out and I was constantly struggling with SLOW downswings, I was literally pushing forward like mad to just get a perfect swing. I got used to do it and did well enough to get back on the PGA. Now it seems I had this option checked the whole time since then, the results are a lot more FAST downswings and many more off tempo shots. Played a practice round and was shooting even par, went and realized my idiotic error, unchecked it and was -9 with far fewer off tempo shots. Seriously Windows for a while stopped checking this box automatically when WIndows 10 first came out and somewhere along the way they reverted back to having it auto checked. First player shooter games always have it off cause it makes quick head shots over shoot your target.
The other issue is often times when mouse drivers get updated, the driver itself can turn the setting back on or even a windows update can do it. So mouse players, if you are struggling with tempo go turn it off and check back periodically to make sure it is off!
So gotta practice up a bit and hopefully I'll make a cut again. Not expecting to actually compete but at least I understand what may have been going on with my game. It has really gotten to be a chore to play the game lately and not at all enjoyable. :/

Well in the absence of any form of Diplomacy, I’ll just get straight to it... I’m a mong. R3 seems like a good time to abandon the process you’ve followed for putting since year dot and just eye them... sometimes. Played pretty well, left a lot out there. On course for another medium result (at best). Full 18 here if anyone wants to see how not to do things. Agree with Brad by the way!

Could seriously read another 779 of them in this thread.

@!$# the riddles, another 4 paragraph essay on the technicalities of windows device management is what we all really want!
Opened with -8 & -12, which should navigate another cut.
Was nice to have some relatively flat putts up near the hole... doesn't happen often on PGA courses, so the variety was appreciated. Tho I don't fair so well on easy courses - can't make hay like the others do. Overall thought the course looked and played very well tho - looking forward to final 2 rounds later this week.

A very disappointing -10 in round 1..was aiming for -13...looks like I'm going to have to have a really great second if I plan to make the weekend.
I guess the bright side is, I now feel -10 is a bad score, where a few weeks ago I thought that was amazing. On to round 2, and we'll see what happens.

Only those that live the game and have more than their share of luck will top that. I got lucky in mine but am expecting to be destroyed in hurricane winds in round 2.

Not often you go out and throw up a 56 and lose strokes to your competitors...guess I definitely left a few out there!

Good news is tempo is leaps and bounds better. Bad news is I still can't putt, but that is on me. Also good news, a short post.
