How often do your shots end up exactly as you visualised them?
And if they don't, do you find you miss in good spots BECAUSE you visualised and tried to execute a certain shot rather than just winging it?

Well. Depends. Driving I say 90% of the time. Approach shots I don’t think I visualize I pick a spot where I want my birdie putt to come from and then pick a club that will get me there I also pick a spot I do not want to go to

Just speaking to approach shots. Honestly they usually don’t go exactly how I envisioned them. Playing casually I use Master clubs on Xbox so I’m battling with my tempo and swingline anyway. So more often than not my shot trajectory will be off at least slightly from perfect.
This being the case, I look at the green and decide where the “good” miss is and I’ll favor that side of the pin. So if I miss pinside then great, I put it right at the flag, and if I miss to the other side then I can easily recover and make par.
I do think this is much better than just winging it and trying to pin hunt every hole. Makes to game more enjoyable to actually think about your shots too vs just getting up and hitting the ball

Yep, I lean heavily on visualization/imagery. If you watch any of the WGO tips segments that I've done, you'll hear/see me implicitly talk about/reference a couple of ways I use visualization in incorporating the specific gameplay techniques discussed - obviously a couple of those 4 "tips" lend themselves to visualization more easily/apparently than others, but I'm always envisioning what's going to happen when I setup my shots, it's just a fundamental element of the way I play the game. Very hard to describe or explain, though...but really, really useful and rewarding if you can figure it out.

Until recently I was hitting and hoping it would get as near the flag as possible, but now I'm trying to read the slope of the green while setting up, then hitting a shot that will leave me on the low side of the hole to guarantee myself an uphill putt.
Consistently executing is another matter, but I prefer having a plan for each hole rather than trying to hit Hail Marys for the whole round.

Considering I visualise the ball going in the hole... 18 times a round.

I wouldn't say I visualize shots as much as I focus on proper decision making. There are several decisions that go into every golf shot - club choice, account for wind, account for elevation/lie, etc. I do take a look at the landing area so I can choose the ideal shot as well as where I DO NOT want to hit it. I find if I make the correct choices and execute properly, I'm usually 5-8 feet from the hole. Sadly, I only execute properly about 50% of the time.
