This is a course I've had on my PC since before the Major Contest, and was actually started with the idea that it would be my entry into that contest - point being, this one's been around for a bit, and I'm thrilled to finally have finished it up.
First and foremost, huge thanks to Crazycanuck1985 for the collaborative effort with this course, as he was kind enough to take on the task of planting around here. In the matter of less than an hour after getting his hands on the course, he transformed the way it looked, and this one wouldn't be the same without his efforts. Also want to thank mayday_golf83 for taking a look at this in the early days and throwing out some ideas/suggestions, a few of which I took him up on - thanks man! This was a fun one to build, something a bit different than my last few, and certainly hope everyone enjoys their rounds!

Great course here Justin. Some really unique and cool holes with lots of risk/reward. I enjoyed the round. Had a little lag at times, but that might just be due to my settings. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this on tour at some point for sure. Nice work

Enjoying my first playthrough so far. Any idea what conditions you might have recommended if this had been your major entry?

Enjoying my first playthrough so far. Any idea what conditions you might have recommended if this had been your major entry? It was only my major course for the first 2 holes I built - #’s 18 and 1 - plus the harbor sculpting before I realized it wasn’t what I wanted to do for that contest. The highlands fairway firmness bug is there obviously, but it still plays fine with soft fairways (which I image most will play since it’s bugged to be default), but I definitely wanted to have them in the medium-firm range. I played pin 2 (if I remember right) with everything maxed out and it was fine, but I’m sure there are a couple of pins between the 4 sets that couldn’t take those speeds. Tried to not make every pin as hard as I usually do, but still some tricky ones out there.

Been looking forward to this ever since you first asked Andre to stream it. Just a great look, but the way the holes played was what got me - every approach had me thinking (default conditions on pin 1) and the greens that sloped away from you were just a killer at times. Ended up level par thanks to a birdie on the last. All the holes were brilliant, but I think the 12th was possibly my favourite. Or maybe the fourth. Or the fifth. Or the second actually. You get the idea... 5 stars, favourited and I will be playing all pinsets.
The only thing I did notice was that there was a huge glare for me on holes 14 and 15 when they were right into the sun. I play on PS4 though and I've noticed the lighting I get tends to be very different to what others do, so probably just me.

Thanks very much for the kind words, love to hear how much you enjoyed the course. As for the lighting - it’s a bit more striking that I usually go with, but it was one of the first things Andre tweaked with, and I trusted his judgement. Plus, more “bold” visually was the goal here, and I loved how it set off on the coastline, but certainly understand how it might look a bit flared to some (especially if bloom and depth of field graphics settings are turned on).

Wait, what? Is this a Smedley course? I see trees, and bushes, and non-geometric shapes! The pictures look stunning, I must play this ASAP!

Oh no, compared to his stream, definitely a PS4 thing with the lighting. Shouldn’t have mentioned it, thinking about it. I’m a huge fan of the look - surely no way you can go back to straight lines now?!

Played this tonight, great work as always. The layout had plenty of choices and I was struggling to make the right ones, so that will definitely bring me back to try and beat the course the next time. Congrats, you won this round!

Love this course, so many undulations and different levels across the course, bunker layouts are in great positions which makes you think about your shots. Ticked the favorite box and a 5 star for me, will play again for sure.

Terrific course here Justin. Very cool looking piece of land. Elevation changes work great.
Didn't play all that well but still shot a -12. But will certainly better that in near future.
Would like to see this course on the PGA in future. But I reckon you would have to make it much harder with pin locations, etc.
Maybe hole 10 (good hole btw as is)...
Right now you're never going to hit it in the road. I would make over the green FW that rolls into the road and make the entire road OB.
That would bump it up to a terrific hole imo and with a back pin, way downwind, etc...it would put the fear of God into you...which I think designers don't do often enough.
I thought 11 and 18 was different how you made so much fringe before green. Nice.
13 or 14....the waterfalls on the left. Well done. Usually I think waterfalls should never be used cause they never look good close up and create lag city....but here I thought it was done with precision.
As much as I think this lighting gets wicked over-used by everyone and personally I think its over-rated....for some reason it worked here. Must be the theme.Mainly the 1st par 5 on the back. Visually that was sweet.
Anyways, overall 5 stars and a favorite!

Great looking course. You really sculpted a beautiful plot for this course, which made the elevation changes seamless. The bunkers and landscaping where spot on giving that dunes feel. The sight lines were fantastic giving you beautiful views of the land you sculpted. The 2nd hole wasn’t my favorite great look off the tee and a very challenging hole. Great job

I forgot to say the lighting was perfect also. Great job again sorry for the two posts but I just had to comment on that lighting.
