Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this (see picture)? This is my first course design and some bunkers seem to go seamlessly into the heavy rough while other have this thick look to them. I have tried raising and lowering the edges around and nothing seems to work. Anyone can give me some tips it would be greatly appreciated. I really want to publish this course but refuse to with bunkers looking like this.

I don't know if it would help but have you tried running a heavy rough brush along the side of the bunker.

Nope that didn't work either. It seemed to make it slightly better but not really.

Have you tried deleting the bunker and place it back in? You can also try placing the bunker on a flat surface, then sculp it.

Are you using splines or brushes? I had this problem in delta theme recently. I noticed sometimes when i used brushes it added that ugly rim around the bunkers. I traced a couple with splines then deleted the brushes and added heavy rough as a second surface and it was way smoother.

First off, welcome. Second, awesome username (class of 2011).
Does the lip stay no matter how high you raise or lower the terrain around it? Is it across all your bunkers or just the one? I would say delete is and try a new one to see if the same issue sticks. I've also found splining bunkers can help with issues too.

If you are talking about the darker "lip" band around the edge it is always there one way or another and I don't know of a way to completely get rid of it. How visible it is however varies on a number of things, the most prominent being (in my experience at least) : 1. The theme being used - delta seems to be a pita for this and let's not forget the current bunker edges in boreal (but that's a different issue ) 2. The texture chosen for the sand - the lighter colour you use the worse the edge can look, however a couple of the "mid" colours can make the edge virtually invisible as they blend really well 3. The lighting used - same as a lot of things in the designer, depending on which way the "sun" is shining onto the bunker will determine how visible or prominent the edge will be. I have had the same / similar issue on a course I am currently working on which the bunkers were all done with splines. I too found the edge to be slightly wider in places on numerous different bunkers but with no apparent reason that I could determine and no common "symptom" between the affected bunkers either. I tried various ways to "fix" it (including everything already suggested in this thread) but with no real success. The only thing that seemed to make any kind of difference (but not always) was adjusting the position of the spline handles in relation to the spline point / edge of the bunker but in a way that didn't change the size / shape of the bunker...….but like I said this didn't work every time. Eventually I gave up and just changed the sand texture colour Oh, this was using delta btw. Next time I'm in the designer I'll have a mess around with it some more on my test plot and post back in here if I find anything useful
