This week on the web.com we head to Debdale Marshes Golf Club by SAM . Here is very interesting fact about this weeks designer Simon. Back when I was just out of nappies and first became a scheduler, Simon was one of the very first if not the first designer that I ever talked to. Even the, Simon had been designing courses for a long time. Basically what I am saying is Simon is old. I mean, look at his 100 percent photo realistic avatar picture, grey beard and everything. I think we all have a responsibility to look after the elderly, to make them feel wanted, loved, that there are still valuable members of the community. So this week, I thought I would do my part and put one of Simons courses on tour. So is the course any good? I have no idea, I have not actually played it, this is just me doing my one good deed of the year. All I know is that the course is a accurate recreation of downtown Manchester. Maybe Simon can tell us a little about the course, the history of the course, people that have played the course, how much cheaper it used to be to play the course, how young people today have it easier playing the course with their technology compared to his day when all he had in his bag was 3 golf clubs, a flask of warm tea and a compass. Ah crap, sorry guys. Oh well, have fun and good luck.

Well after being sat on 3 promo marks and desperate to get those final 2 green ticks i have been practicing this course all week, hitting some fine scores, i was just hoping that when the event started i would get a steady frame rate tempo, which i did
Round 1.. started a little slow missing a few putts but recovered to be -5 thru 9 before finishing -11 with i bogie Round 2.. played great, made some clutch putts, along with having 3 eagles, finished -13
Was debating stopping and taking a break but decided to keep the flow going and glad that i did, started round 3 -10 thru 10 only mistake i made was when i came to the driveable 13th i was in-between clubs, knowing driver would probably leave me a very long putt, i should have layed up but never did, left myself a silly 60ft putt which i proceeded to 4 putt bogie, yukkkk, was really annoyed at this point but managed to birdie my way in for a -15
So -39 thru 3 rounds, should be in a good position although the course is playing fairly easy in low/medium winds, very fine course

Cheers for the plug (I think) hmammoth Whilst Debdale Marshes is purely a fictional course I did indeed take the name from a park & reservoir that provides some much needed green space in the residential district of Gorton, Manchester, England. Designed originally with the CC tours in mind I was pleasantly surprised when the Web's residential scheduler got in touch & will be very interested to see how it plays out with master clubs, wind speed indicator set to off & the chosen settings for all 4 days. Love following the tour threads & reading all the various comments, trials & tribulations as well as peoples thoughts on the courses. Especially interested if anyone broadcasts their rounds on Twitch - nothing I enjoy more than watching someone play 1 of my creations. Good luck to all. Sam.

Played a few practice rounds here. With 4-5 eagles possible every round we should see some really low scores. Gotta figure the cut will be 17 or 18 under

Mixed feelings after 2 rounds
Round 1 I made 10 birdies which is fine but unfortunately also 4(!) bogeys. Unacceptable at this course and at this level though I do feel I got some bad breaks here.
Round 2 a slightly better swing and a solid bogey free - 11. Hole 1 I hit the water, had 253 yards left for shot 3 and somehow managed a near impossible par. I guess that got me going.
I would say - 17 is enough but I'll wait and see before playing rd 3 and 4.

Of course, I played, multiple times on all the pins to set it up, like I do with every course. If you don’t know by now that the original post each week is for fun, I don’t know what to say. The course was designed with the challenge circuit in mind, but that does not mean other tours can’t use, the pga had used courses designed for the challenge circuit and the web, the challenge circuit had used courses designed for the pga. The biggest request in all tours is variation, it’s what I have done all season and will continue to do. This a fun course, designed by one of the top designers in the game, what’s not to like. Oh, remember you said I don’t listen to feedback, welcome to me listening to feedback.

I remember making a legitimate complaint about a course having ridiculous greens that were impossible to putt from one tier to the next and being told you’ve played it before and you’ll play it again.
When I messaged you about it you replied once then ignored me - so why bother messaging? I’ll just make my complaints here.
You said you hadn’t played it. Last week you ‘joked’ about complaints that don’t actually happen to appear a martyr, so I have no idea what to expect from your intros.

Demoted from euro last week so this is my first time on any other tour.....-12 for the first round. Little annoyed as left a couple out there but a good start regardless....played my 2nd round straight after as tempo was good and hit a -13 with a few more left out there! All in all I'm happy with -25 at the cut and we'll see what happens in round 3 and 4

Played my first rd straight out the box, no practice so did,nt know the course, wished I had, left a couple short, the odd missed fairway and bad shot choice, but somehow got it round in 64 -8, but looking at the leaderboard I think it,s going to leave me with a lot to do to make the cut this week after making 7 in a row, well played those at the top end and good luck for those yet to come do yourselves a favour play a practice round first.

Great fun having your round decided by whether or not the tempo is reliable on Xbox. Having a wedge in your hand and leaving it either 10m short or 15m long is horsesh1t.
I’m done, heading to the beginner tour next week where I can compete on a level playing field and not be beaten by the console I play on.

Awesome course. Really challenging drives and tricky pins, but balanced with the slower greens. Definitely plenty of holes to score. R1: -9 R2: -9 R3: -14 R4: -9 Pretty happy with my play for my first event ever, but left a ton of shots out there. Underread a lot of putts that were very makeable. Probably left 6-7 putts on the edge. Hopefully -18 under makes the cut because the 58 on moving day might get me close to the top 25. Again, great pick hmammoth and great course SAM ! Also (shameless self plug), I streamed all 4 rounds yesterday and plan on streaming the U.S. Open qualifiers tonight. If anyone wants to stop by and say hello, drop a follow on the twitch channel below. Greatly appreciate whoever comes by! hmammoth knows

Missed opportunity for a win with my play in round 1 but hopefully get my 1st promo mark in WEB. Nice pin placements in round 4 with that wind
