Well it's almost certainly a missed cut again for me - but for the first time in about 3/4 weeks, I actually felt like the swing I made, was reflected in the result (tempo wise) - only had one VS during the event, and swung it quite decent.
Unfortunately, for whatever reason, every approach in R1 was right between clubs, and I missed about 7/8 of my targets by 1/2 yards - with (score-wise) obviously disastrous results.
-4 to open, then a nice -10 in R2 (with 3 eagles) = -14 which won't be enough.
R3 (not that it will matter) was a 'coulda been special' round - shot -12, and must have missed 5/6 extremely makeable putts inside 12-15ft. -9 in R4, meant -35 total.
Thought there were a couple of silly holes (eg the 525 par 4 where you can't hit driver unless into the wind (as the fairway ends at 310) - meaning a stupid long approach) - but other than that, I actually enjoyed 54 of the 72 holes! (which is about as much of a miracle as if this thread doesn't descend into an API debate.......)
Play well all.

I can't putt on PS4. 20% long putts over 4 rounds when I've been averaging around 35% for the entire season on PC. Probably scored better overall than I would have done on PC, just from making more greens because of the easier tempo, but if anything I'm more angry with myself than I would have been on PC because of so many missed putts. Missed a 5-footer and 3-putted from 15ft, the latter was when I seriously considered joining the BCT lol Think this is the end of the line with PS4 for me, I've been unhappy with my rounds on PC plenty of times, but it's rare that I actually want to put a fist through my monitor like I did today. Missed easy putts just produce a whole new level of rage, so I think I'd be happier with 10x more bad tempos in exchange for being able to putt again. Wondering if I've got a dud DS4, seeing all these players say how hard they have to try NOT to shoot lasers, and I struggle to keep it in the cone on gimme putts. Tried flicking my putts (can't flick on normal shots as it produces a very, very fast) and it doesn't produce straight lines at all for me, so who knows what's going on. Not going to spend money on a new controller just on the off-chance I can hit straighter putts though, would much rather sell the whole thing and get back some of my £300 and put it towards something more useful. Anyway, enough of my boring dear diary bullsh*t, best of luck all

61-58-60-64 - 42 under total.
Probably cost myself another Top 10 with the final round where nothing quite worked but it's ok i guess.....

Tempo and crooked lines all day today. Putter actually saved me some embarrassment although it cost me a few as well. R1 -11 drained some some putts but a double off a VS hurt. R2 was just alternating between fasts and 95% for -8. R3 had my best swing but could only muster -10. R4 was just bad luck with odd kicks putting me off the fairway and with these pins very tough to get close for -6. So -35 and probably another 30-40 position. PS4 is plenty difficult for me.

-37 overall, continuing my theme of consistancy yet nothing special. Was even after first 8 holes, and had flashbacks to a younger me attempting to split the pad in anger 😂 yet knuckled down to het to -18 for the first 2 which should make the cut although you never know. Good luck all!

-5, -12 start. I'm always right at the cut line, so the cut will be in -16 to -18 range. Feels like i'm getting more hoverputts again, even on short putts. Had a 7 footer that went dead arrow against a break and 10 feet by the hole, and I hit it normal power. Death to hoverputts

Started off with a -16 in round one. Figured I could keep it going but only managed -15 in round 2 for -31 at the cut.
...then I woke up

Unfashionably, I think I’ll make the cut this week. R1 was pretty gash, but got going in R2 and 3... R4 was a little disappointing to be fair. Putted really well but had 2 3 stabs to drop a couple of shots.
Good track. Didn’t like the 181 speed personally. Much preferred the 187s.
Some pretty retarded scoring by the “elites”. A fairly solid and somewhat encouraging -41 for this medium has been. Not even close.

I just want this game to be fun again and it's just not. And in case it wasn't obvious those are not actual round scores. I'm just stirring the pot a little.

Allow me to show you my R4 of this week to basically summarize the state of my game... I will have moments of brilliance, but inevitably, my luck radically shifts and shatters my momentum. The quality should start to improve if you're watching this on Sunday night (YT takes a moment to optimize everything).
1:00 :: Hole 1 - Two clean shots, incredibly lucky downhiller falls for Eagle.
2:36 :: Hole 2 - I mean, okay... not a real good chance to get at this pin. I honestly thought I played it perfectly. If that ball rolls/bounces another foot or two it takes the slope and is stiff. Give it a good run with a chip, save par. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
3:50 :: Hole 3 - Finally a favorable wind. Hit a perfect drive... and really grinded for eagle. Next hole!
5:17 :: Hole 4 - Got a lucky bounce to make the fairway. A little between clubs on the approach... made the bird.
6:43 :: Hole 5 - Awkard approach yardage... couldn't get as close as I liked... 21 footer for bird.
8:25 :: Hole 6 - Honestly thought I had a chance at an ace (only ever had 2 in this game). Made the bird.
9:30 :: Hole 7 - Must hit the fairway! This is probably the hardest approach on the course. 29 footer for bird. The luck meter is at 100% at this point.
11:20 :: Hole 8 - I decide to press my luck and it back fires. I really pondered this approach, as you can see... Finally I go with my gut and I lip it out - I mean really?!?! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
13:17 :: Hole 9 - Fairway... then awkward approach and of course seeing the black backswing means no bueno... and left my birdie on the wrong side. Finally another par? Luck meter declining...
14:45 :: Hole 10 - A tough pin with the cross wind and false front. Thought I would end up a little closer. Gave it a run but made par.
16:02 :: Hole 11 - Another chance to make birdie.... Honestly thought my approach was aimed pretty far to the right, but these lovely aprons on these par5s are very unforgiving. A grind to get up and down to save birdie... luck meter trying to hold on...
17:52 :: Hole 12 - Just feel like my swing is all over the map at this point. Breathe... Find the fairway and hit a stellar approach. Luck meter increasing?
19:30 :: Hole 13 - Thought I played a gem in there... I probably misread the putt by 2 clicks... the luck meter has officially swung the over way.
20:50 :: Hole 14 - Well tempo was good this week, but a ton of black lines (backswing) all over the place. I miss the fairway by a yard and miss having wedge into a benign pin. Approach goes insanely left... and that chip rolled out way more than you'd ever think. Luck meter hits 0%. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
22:51 :: Hole 15 - Trying to somehow get to -40? Had to make a toughie for birdie... Luck meter on the way up?!
24:07 :: Hole 16 - Having practiced this pin set, I knew the slope would run out a fair amount... I must've just missed the perfect landing spot because I didn't anticipate the ball rolling so far left. Gave it a good run but another...that putt looked good didn't it? Sigh... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
25:55 :: Hole 17 - Somehow I'm striping the driver again... Another ridiculous pin means a putt at eagle is extremely unlikely. Hit a decent bunker shot for my third to leave a tap in. Luck meter trying to swing positive? Next hole.
27:17 :: Hole 18 - Clean drive... I honestly thought I played this approach perfectly and almost jarred it (OMG help me luck meter!!)... but wtf is with that pin? Seriously inches from eagle and then it just rolls off the green... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Probably lost 3 shots between 13-14. And near misses on 2, 8 (extremely lucky if you make that), and 18. That's the state of my game... close but no cigar.

Played this a few times to get the feel. Some really tight drives require much more concentration. Many false fronts and I'm wondering if changing the game plan on some of these par 5s to play for birdie isn't the smartest of plays. I can honestly see a few of these holes unreachable in 2 with some strong headwinds and a fast/fast swing is not in my normal arsenal. Perfect/fast or slow I can get down most times. I am rather proud of the fact I have a nice 95% swing to help me out better with those in between club situations. I've scored -10 and -14 which means in the real round I'll probably shoot -6 and -14 to barely make the cut or something silly.
