I've just ended my practice round looking for the q-school round. I wish to say that this course is beautiful. A great choice, really. First of all,the 4 par 3 : Two of them are long, for an hybrid/wood shot. One is for a medium/long iron and one is for a short iron or a pw. And personally i love this type of setting, when every par 3 require different clubs and strategy. But they are the 4 par 5 the real surprise. 3 of them are short, really short. BUT in the end, between the wind (medium/high) and the tiny and tricky greens (plus the hard/fast setting,of course) landing them in two shorts is easier to tell, hard to do. The fourth is a huge one with a little river that split the fairway in two and a tee shot really tough (one of the most demanding i ever played,in the wind),cause the first fairway is splitted (again!!) in two by a line of bunkers, with the left side narrow and guarded by the river, the right side larger but full of mounds and to avoid the rough is not easy. There is even one short par 4,but if you want an eagle here, you have to gamble against a green very little and elevated. With huge lateral wind is often a losing bet. Others two par 4 are short enough to be reachable in one shot, but right wind is needed and in my round was not the case. In the end,a real top course. With a design absolutely smart and that requires a lot of thinking. Pause for the cigarette ended. I go for a second round.
