1. Player reads that short swinging is known to trigger API.
2. Player short swings and either finishes top 25 or fails API.
3. Player fails to make changes despite instructions/advice and fails 2, 3 times. Am I missing something?
Hard to fault the admins because never before 2019 has a swing method and stock controller (to my knowledge) produced non-conforming results.

Anyone who short swings is a cheat. Straight up. The game is designed to pull the stick back, then push it forward. It’s not hard. If you feel the need to manipulate a video game, you probably also cheat on a real golf course and are a POS. We’re not playing for real money, and no one respects you more for playing on the PGA tour over the CC-Z tour - it probably just means you have a PS - so where’s the payoff other than in the pea brain of the cheat?

And this is how I had hoped this thread wouldn't go.
There are people who swung the same way BEFORE TGC2019 that did not produce API pulls in TGC2.
I had thought that admin had explained enough times that API pulls are not considered cheating.
Clearly I am too centered on the PGA where this is more understood and bringing this thread to the general population would have this thread denigrate to finger pointing, name calling, and generalizations.

You ain't flicking my stick.
I gotta make video of it floating on PUBG. 180 dollar POS. I have to lead lead when I'm aiming long distances. Like a guy who can't hold a gun.
My son has my original elite controller. Lucky him. Socialism.

My right stick which I use to swing is a ghost in PUBG. I use to aim. It floats. I don't touch it and it moves . .

Do you play PUBG? No? You're a smart guy . If it's floating it means I'm probably not getting accurate swings. But i like it Bob. Like real golf I don't know what will happen.

1.) Not everyone who is failing the API is short swinging.
2.) The admins can't and won't always give you instructions how to fix your issue or actionable advice. Often it's just some data to piece together, sometimes it is useful sometimes it is still puzzling.
3.) If the same swing / equipment that passed the API 10 tournaments in a row fails once, a player may want to find out if it was a fluke before investing money in new equipment or relearning their swinging technique to make it less accurate.
4.) Failing the API again doesn't mean failing to make any changes. A player might be making changes (e.g. purchasing a new DS4) in an attempt to fix the issue but those changes didn't result in passing the API.

Agree with most here, I'm in favour of a 3-strike rule for API fails, maybe a month holiday to start with. That said, this debate misses the giant, stomping, crack-smoking elephant* in the room which is that simply playing with a PS4 over XB1/PC gives you a far stronger advantage than Lil Shawty McFlickerson could ever dream of. Tough pill to swallow if you've only ever played on PS4 I know, but now I've seen both sides the difference is colossal, and it makes a mockery of the entire TGCT setup. I've always been a big fan of the idea of tempo and rolled my eyes at the people who said it should be removed and we should go back to the one-dimensional TGC1 setup, but the more I play on PS4 the clearer it is that we don't have a level playing field, and now I'm genuinely warming to the idea of removing tempo, purely to make TGCT resemble a fair competitive environment for everyone. It would be a shame because in principle tempo adds so many interesting and challenging layers to the gameplay, but it's sadly fubar'd for multiplatform competition. *edit:

If you’re on PS4, your results are gained with a considerable advantage, if you’re gaming on top of that by short swinging, you might as well be playing the beginner club tour. I’d like to see XBox tempo all round. There’s not a golfer on the planet has ever had the control you have on PS, the random tempo on XB absolutely simulates the random nature of the human golfer. It also makes -6 a good score.

Admins won’t give you actionable advice??? Nope, not buying that for a second.

I get feedback like my dispersion was always tight and it got a little tighter this week, along with a bar chart showing a tight dispersion. I have to figure out what to do about that. I don't know how much different the swing it needs to be, if a different controller will matter, or how I know if the new one is giving any different result before teeing it up the next week.
Honestly I could fix the dispersion and pass the API every week if I just decide to intentionally mis-swing off the tee when I have a wide fairway in front of me, but that's not in the spirit of the game. Based on ghosts I've seen, I suspect this is what some other top players are doing anyway, every 'bad' swing comes on a place in the course where it has a negligible affect on the score.
