The (spoilers) in the PGA thread title is bang on point every time - always at least one spoiler in here spouting bellyache & bile. Haven't started yet, but see there are some new techniques to try, looking forward to putting tape on my stick and fapping my rounds. Be careful or you may join the DQ club!

Usual waste of 2 hours of my time - a miserable -13 at the cut (so I'm '2 and done' as usual) Played the other two rounds for shits and giggles (more the former than the latter) to finish at -32 - which included five two's in round 3 (all three par 3's, plus holed a 7i from 200 on 15, and a flop on 17 for eagles)
Can't say I enjoyed the course, but whether that's the course itself, or the fact that I'm getting worse by the week, I don't know, so I'll leave it at that.
See you all for 36 holes next weekend again.

-41, all steady rounds, no bogeys in 72 holes which is a first for me I think, reckon might get a top 20 out of it. Lots of wide fairways, so much so that on a lot of the holes you can pull or push the drive and still be fine, so given most will be playing from the fairway most of the time, I expect to see a lot of similar scores to mine, with -50ish being the winning score. Good luck all!

this has got to be one of my favorite courses in the game honestly. the design is strategically amazing and i think it's quite entertaining when people complain about one deep bunker or green speeds so much.. i also know Smedley didn't design this as I saw this design online months ago (from Zac Blair and the King-Collins guys), but his implementation IMO is top notch. the wind speeds are high but with 100+ yard wide fairways and greens, it was a fair test for me. the one drawback was playing the road hole as a par 5 due to the wind in round 1, but it was a damn good par 5 and I made a comfortable 4. thanks B.Smooth13 for a great track.

Seems like the Non-DQ Club is becoming more and more exclusive! Everybody is just too accurate I guess...

Only -11 after the first two rounds. Several bogies in the first round, otherwise I would be sitting at -15 or so, which might have made the cut. I had so much going against me...we all know about the green speed 152, what were you thinking...if the greens were 187, no doubt I would be sitting at -34 or so after two, then I must have used the wrong damn tape on my controller because there was no advantage for me (LMAO). I heard of a new method where you rub geese crap on your controller, drink rabbit piss, hop on one foot and inhale one can of ant and roach spray that's been really helping guys. That's was Brad does...he got the method from Ian back in the TGC1 days.
On a more serious note...I really like this course. Love the open fairways, but love how the approach shot is so important. Good luck all.

Let me provide a visual aid why this week's course is a clown course, most notably with some of the green sculpting and pins...
Had I made that putt, I would've birdied the last 6 holes and been in at -44.... "Oh well". "We all play the same pins, right?"

Maaaaan....I was humming along nicely in round 2, playing on autopilot, then 3 putted from 10ft on #12 (damn greens). Then did something I never did in my hundreds of test-play rounds on 13, was hitting out of one of the cave bunkers with my 3rd, but managed to scramble for par somehow. And last but not least...3 putted #14 after missing the green long and leaving my chip waaay short, first double I've had on tour in a long time as best I can remember. Fought back to -18 at the halfway point, but damn, what could have been.

Maybe I'm a bit naive to all of the talk about green speeds and what not. I mean I don't have any other systems but I do just take the conditions of the course and just play them in a local match before I play my actual rounds. Maybe 1 or 2 then I'm on the course trying to play. I think that's just the smart way to learn the course and how it plays. I don't think the green speeds really affect the putting that way as long as you adjust for them. I mean every course plays differently on the greens, just how it would be in real life. Playing on different systems and all of that isn't right I believe but definitely practicing on your own is fine and then making the necessary adjustments. I can't speak for the PS4 or PC players, but I think if you practice the conditions then go play the course that it gives you a pretty good idea of what you have to do. Just my $.02.
Also, don't know how many people are using swinging aids such as the tape and things that everyone has mentioned, but that obviously takes away from the authenticity of the game. However, the volunteers can't be expected to catch everything. I think they do a great job of staying on top of all the tours and making sure it's a great experience for as many people as possible.
Haven't played my rounds yet this week, but good luck to all!

Your ghost was okay, you can see Paris rolling around though... I mean clearly the game thinks I hit it too hard... honestly don't think I've ever smashed an uphill 13 footer like that - ever? With it 152s, obviously the pace needs to be firmer... but the fact the ball rolls off a cliff like that... really? Okay... now we have a comebacker that is playing twice the pace of its length... Again, really? I don't know about you, but estimating say 90 vs 100 vs 110 on 152s is like playing Russian roulette. The game obviously didn't think I hit my par putt well... hey look it's back at my feet!!! Same putt again? I'll smash it harder and hope it doesn't roll off the other side.... hey look I didn't even change the direction and almost holed it - only a foot short! Love this game...

First off, I think this course is fantastic. And I'm not just saying that cause I might have a top 10 at -43 total. The fact this course didn't make it past the 1st round of the design challenge a couple months ago is a travesty.
Great elevation changes and it's very unique. I'm in the camp where uniqueness should be very highly regarded. Not to mention this course started on a flat plot. Quite impressive.
Getting to the greens-- I actually disagree with you Justin. I've played this course a bunch at 187s and thought it was fair. There's definitely a few pins at 187 that are dicey. But you can always just hit it 20 feet below the hole. I thought at 152 speed all 72 pins were accessible. (Except hole 11 in rd 1. But many 7500 yard golf courses are going to have 1 par 4 like that in very high winds. It's the same for everyone. No big deal imo)
Sometimes (I've been guilty of it too)...just because we can't shoot -14 with ease and have an automatic birdie with a GW that something must be wrong with the course. Smh.
Finally, it was a little annoying to have the same firmness settings and 152 green speeds all 4 rounds.
I noticed next weeks tourney...same thing all 4 rounds. I just believe between each round; it takes much more skill to go from firm to soft to normal firmness and from 163 to 187 to 144 green speed, etc, etc. But it is what it is. Can't please everyone. I get it.
Anyways, good luck to everyone still to play!
Edit - Geez. I knew I putted very poorly all tournament. But just looked and had a 90% medium putt %. Woof. I'm with Larry - I see -50+ for sure as your winner.

The - club. Wat a shower of complete wank. The course is laid out well but yet again another designer that sets his greens to a number where nothing putts true at all. Finished my rounds and played it on fast 163s and course plays amazing. 152. Designers do this so there course plays fubar'd and doesnt get ripped a new arsehole. Alot of the holes are easily accesible if you hit right line off the tee but greens are a mess. I had so many putts die on me or on the straightish ones go the opposite way 2 clicks and miss high. -50 even tho the greens are a mess the shortswingers will stiff it on every hole or the mapping bastards who practice the events on other systems with different names then play there rounds at the last minute will get past 50. Have fun. Seriously close to calling it neck on this tour as its @!$#ed. @!$#ed up courses and @!$#ed up morals. Ppl playing with rigged sh%$ to short swing and mappers who they wont police Its worse than the hori and mapping days on tiger oh my god. Have fun on the - clubs greens. Sorry justin but you know you put them greens at 152 to play wan k Let's make this easy for you. You can go.
