Hi all,
Long time lurker here and in awe of the courses created by some of the users on the forums. In the last few weeks, I've watched a lot of videos and streams from Crazycanuck1985 and mattf27 , which basically made me decide to finally get round to finishing this one up (and tear up a number of holes and start again...). I'm really keen to get as much feedback as possible. The key ideas were to have a coastal highlands course that was fairly tough, with variety, as well as a difficult run in and makes you think off the tee. If I did it again, there'd be a lot of things I'd do differently, but hope you enjoy! This was a PS4 design, so I hope the playability is the same on PC and the lighting better!
If you do play, please go for the version with the lighthouse in the thumbnail - I needed to make one final tweak after publishing.
A few pictures:
The long par three second - particularly tough when the pin is tucked right as in this shot
The third - what I imagine could well be SI 1. Loooong par 4 with the green running away from you.
The fourth - no prizes for guessing where the inspiration for this backdrop comes from . Our first view of the lighthouse, which comes into view on a number of holes.
Our closest view of the lighthouse on the par four 5th hole
One of the signature holes is the short, massively downhill par three seventh
Our second par five introduces the first of many split fairways, leading to a range of options given where the pin may be.
The final par three comes as early as the 10th, with a shot over a deep ravine
A rare eagle opportunity appears at the 12th, provided your approach threads the many bunkers
Hole thirteen is the other main centrepiece of the course - a driveable par four with three separate fairways, a waste bunker and danger everywhere. All or nothing?
The course finishes with five par 4s; the second of the stretch a stunner uphill that has you hitting to a flag on the horizon. Or, you could go right and hit over the ocean instead...
The next hole gives you no other option, with the approach over water to a small green guarded not just by water, but by a large grassy knoll
Hole seventeen has just the one bunker, but provides the most nerve-wracking tee shot in wind, with you either hitting dead at the ocean or taking on the shortcut by carrying the cliff
The final hole requires two carries over water, with a birdie the rarest of rewards as you make your way home
I hope that you enjoy; any and all feedback very much welcome! karma4u , I've done my best with the PS4 screenshots, but I'd love to see what you could come up with if you don't mind!
